IAmFire's Diary

Morning all,

Today is Thursday! Started off the day with my morning soup, 40 ounces or so of water (this is done over a 3 hour period) and cooking breakkie for me spouse. Got my new Taebo tape in the mail, called Turbo Death. Okay, no it's not called that, but that's what I told my kids it was. It's Taebo II. :)

Today's lunch will be fruits and veggies, dinner will be the chicken soup I'm currently simmering now.

I had to take one kid to the doctor for braces; that was an hour wait for me sitting in the office. I did some ab isometrics and am now back.

Made an awesome chicken soup and will get back to work now.

Have a great day everyone,

iaf

Well this is frustrating.

Measured my waist and it's still 39". However, me hips have gone from 42" to 40.5", top is still the same.

So I'm now approaching the sexy figure of an eggplant. :)

Ah well, ever upwards and onwards.

Hey Barb! Just caught up on your diary; love your sense of humor, it shines right through!

I measure myself at the end of every month...I find a lot of satisfaction in those numbers going down. :)

Hi, Barb! I just read through your diary and I wish you luck! You certainly are dedicated - that will pay off over and again.
Well, I've decided not to go by scales at all. Last night I was 167, when I woke up I was 164, and now after doing my walk I'm 163. So I'll just angst over inches. :)
I weigh once a week in the morning right after waking and taking a trip to the bathroom. *smile* Every day has too much tension to be much help to me. The weight is MORE in the evening (like you quoted above) because you have eaten and drank that day. It's less after working out (as above) because you have sweater off some "water weight". I think it's best to weigh in the morning and not evening because we don't eat the same thing every day so just that change is enough to matter. I will add that inches are supposedly the best way to go for "fat loss" because fat=size and we're looking to lose size and not necessarily weight which could be muscle. I hope that made sense! Just wanted to reply to what you had posted. *smile*

That is great that you don't have a problem drinking water! I keep hearing that lots of water helps to lose fat so I'm all about getting a gallon down daily.

You also said you were doing TaeBo. Don't you love it? Billy Blanks is amazing and I LOVE doing TaeBo. I alternate between Basic, Advanced, 8-Minute and Bootcamp. The last one completely destroyed me earlier this week and I'm trying to get the courage to do it again. *wink* TaeBo will get you in shape, that's for sure.

Have a great evening!
~Laura

Morning,

Thanks for the good words!

I just got the Billy Blanks Taebo II yesterday and tried it out with my kids - 'way more killer than the originals. 'Twas quite enjoyable.

I made a beef bone soup yesterday and scrapped off all the fat on top this morning. 'Twill be my breakie.

Time to start the day,

sounds like you are on the ball. On the road to sucess.

You may want to weigh yourself at the same time every day (morning is always lighter lol).
As the day progresses your body takes on water and food and becomes heavier, by morning its all processed. Its normal to weigh heavier at night time :)

Good for you for making the change, ill be reading and watching your diary :D

Morning!

Well, I haven't stepped on the scale. I do my major weight-lifting on Mondays and Thursdays, so that's when I avail myself to the Y's scale.

Healthwise, I'm doing pretty good - lots of whole foods and fruits. Lots of wawa, and when the kids Dance Dance, I do Taebo moves in the back of the room. Wow, that truly is a workout that is.

And life goes on,

Another pound is byebye!

I now weigh 9 pounds less than 18 days ago.

This is good, quite good in fact! I did my bash-my-body workout to the max today (upper/lower circuit, weight lifting for the arms, laps on the track, jogs down/up the 2 flights of staircases), came home, and had a yummy veggie/pork soup I made from pork backs. There's a local chinese grocery store nearby, and I always look to see what I can experiement with regarding soups. So far, the pork back and the beef marrow bones make the most savory of soups. I'll also add bunches of veggies for flavor as well.

Later today I'll try to survive Taebo II Basic and continue my water intake. So far, things are happening body-wise quite nicely.

wow good start :)

I used to use the gyms scales as well at the beginning. I finally bought my own about a month back, and its soo cool :D

Thanks!

Yesterday I challenged my kids on Taebo II Basic and survived! We have lots of fun creating skits that in which Billy Blanks should star - "Billy Blanks - Your Detetion Teacher" or "Billy Blanks - Etiquette Instructor Supreme!". It's quite silly but really enjoyable.

This morning was 35 degrees out, and I did my 2.4 mile walk rather briskly. Drank 22 ounces of water upon return and had half a bowl of soup. Funny thing, I was filled up after only 1/2!

I'm still not being seized by any weird must-have-food cravings. I really really really hope this lifestyle change lasts and I end up passing it to my kids. They've already lost 2 pounds since Xmas (when I got them DDR) and they love challenging me as well.

Time to start the day,

iaf

Good Morning...i like your name and you seem to be on fire...you sound like your gettin it all done and well on your way...I love Tae Bo and my youngest does his vids with me, she actually begs me for Tae Bo...she is 2.5 and walks around the house saying Tae Bo mommy, Tae Bo...LOL...Welcome and congrats on the good work so far

Morning,

My youngest says, Mommy, I want to meet Billy Blanks and tell him, your DVDs are very painful and we really love them.

Kids. :)

In other news, today is day 21 (3 weeks!) of my new improved me; I'll weigh myself later in the day after I've done my workout. I have a slight case of the sniffles and hope that will disapate soon.

Lost a total of 10 pounds so far!

It's just too cold for me to walk today....so instead I went to the Y and did a nice easy 40 minute workout on the elliptical. I then weighed myself - I have officially lost 10 pounds in 21 days. Yay!

Ever upwards and onwards,

Woo Hoo!!

Congrats on those pounds GONE!!

It's amazing what eating less and moving more accomplishes isn't it?
:)

Hi all,

Today I measured myself again, and it appears that I'm

40-39-39

So I've lost an inch point five on my hips in the past week. Waistline is still the same! Wah!

But I'm definitely noticing changes in my body outline, so perhaps I won't complain too much. :)

Exercise-wise, I did my 2.4 mile walk but didn't powerize it - I ended up walking slower than usual as my body decreed, it's time to ease up a bit. So today I will not do any extra workouts; I'm giving myself a half day of rest. Tomorrow will be soon enough to fling myself back into the swing of things.

Oh, and my weight is still holding steady at 158.

And that's me,

iaf

Morning,

I'm still holding steady at 158, so I figger that indeed, I'm at a weight plateau. Oh well, I expected that.

But the good news is that I have dropped one swimsuit size! My size 16 is too big for me (yay!). True, size 14 is too small, so I think I'm now a size 15. Yay!

Today is bash-the-body workout in the morning and Taebo in the afternoon. Fun fun fun!

Morning,

Well, it appears that I lost another pound and am at 157.

Yesterday's bash-the-body workout turned into total upper/middle body workout (and I passed on the lap jogging). The afternoon had 20 minutes of cycling, so that gave me some good cardio as well.

Today I did 40 minutes on the elliptical AND (get this!) tried my kids' Dance Dance Revolution. Yep, I'm a klutz....but hey, perhaps I will be able to get the hang of it soon.

And thats me,

iaf

Hi all,

Well! It's been 28 days since my change of lifestyle, and I have lost a total of 11 pounds. I'm still in quite the get-healthy mode, and view this as a great beginning.
