I want to feel better in my own skin..

So this is my first entry in the diary.
I agree that looking back later it will help me. So I am starting my fitness program tomorrow and I am so excited. I love to workout. I just have to stick to it. My goal is to feel better in my clothes. I also want my husband to look at me like he use to when I was thin. I can do it I know I can. So here goes. I will be back with my progress reports. :)

Yep you can do it...I was in the same boat a few months back and now my husband can't get enough of my new body...lol!!! You go for it!:D

you CAN do it! The things you want the most can be done if you keep your determination and focus :D We'll help :D

Well I started my fitness routine yesterday On my day off I so wanted to sleep in). I hurt all over today ..:) I got up and did it again. I feel better about myself. Just walking down to the fitness room makes me excited. Just the thought of sliping into a bathing suit and feeling sexy...motivates me so much. I told my husband last night that I was going to be slim and trom by Christmas. Thanks for all the encouragement. It really helps. Off to work I go. I am so glad I can come on here and have so many people to talk to about this. It is just amazing.

you're doing this for you.. don't forget that... but it's perfectly ok to use proving him wrong as a motivator... :D You can feel sexy at any size... dont let that stop you now... you'll just feel sexier when you are down to your goal weight.. :D

I have tried to feel sexy at this size and i just feel ugly. I hate my body I hate looking at myself in the mirror. I hate getting dressed in the morning. I just wanna be thin again. I asked my husband if he wanted to go with me to get a bikini in the spring and he said yea.. Once again another motivation. :)
So I did 300 crunches yesterday. I was so sore today that I could only do 200. I will do better though. I hurt so bad I find myself groaning when I reach for something or bend over. It is kinda funny. So my fitness plan is going well so far and I am looking forward to seeing results. I guess this is where I find out if I can do this long enough to see results. I can! I will! It will happen! I will be skinny ..I will be healthy.

JG, please remember WHO this is for! If you aren't doing it for you then it isn't going to do a dang bit of good. Proving something to somebody is NOT the way to go. If you are focusing on your health, FOCUS and remain committed while forgetting nay-sayers. If you stay focused on your goals THAT ARE FOR YOU, you WILL get there! Slow and steady wins the race REMEMBER THAT and kick butt! :D

I know! I know! It just seems easier to have the I can do it because you said I cant attitude. It is a motivater. Not only to feel better but to prove him wrong. :) I know its for me. I realize that. I can do it. Thanks for the support.

So I have done a lot of thinking. I met an actor at the last roadshow. Michael Krawic. He told me his story and why he is a vegitarian. I really got some motivation about it. It is heathier. You are not eating all that red meat. So I am going to try to change my diet and eat vegitarian. I have to start slow cause we have like 8lbs of hamburger in the freezer. I just need to change things around. Maybe I can get somewhere with my health now..I hope so.
Thats all for today.

So a week and a half ago I begain my new Vegetarin diet. I love it. I feel so much better knowing that I am not chewing on the flesh of an animal. Instead I am more apt to chose veggies and fruit. I have eaten so much better the last week or so then I have in a very long time. I even lost 3lbs. Didnt think that would happen. So here goes.. I can lose weight.
Thanks for all the inspirational diaries and posts.
This forum is the best forum i have ever been a part of. :)

Hi there, remember that vegetarians really have to make sure that all their protein and minerals etc...are being met and/or supplemented--otherwise you could really get sick :(

Good luck! :)

Yes, I do know that. Thanks for the heads up though. I have books and do research on the internet to make sure my body is getting all I need. I will lose weight and continue to maintain a healthy diet.
Here's to a wonderful day! (Big Smile)

good luck! my good friend is a vegatarian, whenever we hang out and get mcdonalds or whatever he will order just the bun and cheese and no meat haha its hilarious.

just remember thou humans didnt evolve this far on nuts and fruit.

proteins from animals equal bigger and better brain development with each generation.

good luck. your in for a hard one.

well shyguy...
I can get plenty of protein from other sources.
I like my diet and intend to remain healthy without protein from animals.

Good Luck with your goals.

congrats and I applaud you for your hard work!

I suggest taking some multivitamins or they even have great veggie protein shakes, to help with your new vegetarian diet.

Good luck with your Vegetarian diet Jeep, it sounds like your coming along really nicely. Eating the Vegetarian way can be heatlhy as long as you are getting all the nutrients your body needs. Will you still eat diary products, such as yogurt, cheese, milk or ice cream? (hehe, well maybe not so much the ice cream right now). And will you eat poultry like fish and eggs? I could give up eating the red meat (though my family loves there steaks) but it's the fish (Salmon is one of my favorite foods ever)and chicken and dairy products that I absolutly love. I have stopped drinking regular milk and started drinking vanilla soymilk, it's not that regular milk is bad for you because it's not, but I just like vanilla soymilk better. And come on, who doesn't love the occasional scoop of ice cream?? hehe, well again good luck with your efforts, and as long as you keep up your positive attitude, you will acheive your goals :)

Thanks WeightLossChick!
I am actually a Ovo-lacto Vegetarian. Which means that I eat no meat, fish or poultry..(I just wanna stop eating animal flesh)... but do eat eggs and dairy. I enjoy dairy. Not big on eggs but I LOVE milk.
The main reason why I am doing this (besides my huge love of all animals) is my health. It is healthier to leave out all that cholestoral (which comes form aniamls). So anytime you are looking at a label and it has cholestoral in it,
it is from an animal. May it be fat or oil..cholestoral comes from animals.

So how does vanilla soymilk taste? I have wanted to try it but I just dont know. I am going grocery shopping tonight and I am going to get a bunch of protein. LOL Like (maybe) soymilk, tofu, and stuff like that. I love veggies and fruit so that is not a prob. I am looking forward to making some breakfast shakes, Fruit smoothies and fruit salads. I like to grocery shop so I look forward to it. My husband on the other hand does not. :)

I am taking life one day at a time.
If I look at it like I have X amount of pounds to lose in so many weeks or months I would go crazy. So I just stay off the scale and eat better. Soon my clothes will fit better and I will feel better in them. This is a life change not a temperary change. That is how I will keep up with this...and I guess my positive outlook on life (big smile).
Life is an amazing gift..I cant waste the one chance I have.

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope to hear form you soon!

Thanks Mel!
I do take a multivitamin. I have a bad immune system so I have to do that.
I am a germ freak too so that doesnt help.
Did you know that 100% of shopping carts tested for germs tested positive for fecal matter? yea..NASTY.Have you seen parents letting their babies chewing on the cart handles? It makes me cringe. I dont touch shopping carts (among other things). lol
Thanks for the positive reply. I hope to hear from you soon.
Good luck.

I love your healthy outlook Jeepgirl; I love that your goal weight is "whatever feels good" and that you are ignoring the scale. I wish I could do that:D

Thanks Dariqueen.
It makes sense to me. I dont wanna get hung up on the numbers. I wanna feel good about myself. I wanna feel good. My ideal weight (for my height and BMI or whatever) may not be the weight that feels good. It may be a little more or less. Feeling good in a bikini may not be at 120lbs. It may be 130ya never know. So if I dont get caught up in the numbers game; I think I have a better shot at getting healthy again. I can do this without the scale! :)
Thanks. Good luck.
