Hey Everyone

My Name is Ryan and I have lost 156 pounds in 11 months. I started at 386 pounds but I tracked from 340 to 230 so far on youtube. Located here

This is my story

about 5 years ago I started to loose my memory. I got depressed and I started to eat. Until a month ago no one had figured out why I started to loose my memory. I was always a big guy but I as you can see below I got really big. About 2 years ago I got a headache that would not go away. For a year I lived with it. The doctors tried to prescribe stuff for it but nothing helped. I got to the point were I wanted to die. I was in agony and I didn’t think It would end. About 11 months ago I was convinced by my doctor that I had to loose weight. I was a prime candidate for a heart attack and apparently I was pre diabetic. He also believed that my memory would keep getting worse if I did not.

I actually went home and told my wife our doctor was a hippie. When my mother in law found out about what the doctor recommended she convinced me that it couldn’t hert anything. If you have ever had a mother in law you know one thing....you listen to her. So I went for a walk. I could only walk for 5 minutes at a time. I had to stop and rest. It hurt my back so much. But after the walk for the first time in a year I felt a small amount of relief. That may not sound like a lot but its what started me on the path to changing my life. Its funny I remember going to the beach to walk along the peer. I literally had to stop at every second bench to sit. 5 minute walks became 10, 10 became 20, 20 became 40, and before I knew it I was going to the gym. I at first only stayed for 30 minutes but I walked there mostly uphill the 40 minutes before. I even swam some days. My pain kept getting better and better.

Needless to say I kept progressing. I currently go 5 days a week 2 to 5 hours a day and work very part time. My back is still a little bad but my headache is almost completly gone. I had to go through agony but I am almost at my goal. I started at 386 pounds and as of today I am 230 pounds. My goal weight is 200 pounds.

I have even tracked all this on youtube cause I wanna show people with chronic pain that they can do this they can loose weight. They can change there lives.

This is the most recent pic I have. It is me at 386 vs 240...I hope to get a more recent one soon as 10 pounds makes a big difference.

Congrats on your loss!! I've noticed that my knee pain has completely gone away since I've lost my chunk of weight!

And Greg...omg. I feel you on the tshirts. My favorite Thundercats shirt is a tent on me, now! So are my Superman shirts. I CAN, however, fit into the Green Lantern shirt that I've been hoarding for a year or two. bwuahahaha. I think it's time to buy some more nerdy shirts!

Thanks frogged.

No worries about response time its all good man.

Thanks Imaninjadangit. I hope my back pain goes away soon. Its gotten better but I wanna do a physical job and it limits me atm. Plus I plan on becoming a personal trainer so I gotta get that stuff in check.

NERDY SHIRTS HERE I COME.

Oh update. I am now down to 222 at higher weight. Meaning I am now the lowest weight I have been in like 10 years or more...I cant remember.

AI love putting things in those terms. I am 211 right now, and haven't been this small in 11 years! I wish the people who are stressing at 140lbs about losing 5lbs could feel what we've felt. I think they'd appreciate their situations so much more.

I know it feels really good :) Makes me smile. I do wish they could understand but I dont wish they know what we felt cause in a lot of cases it was really painful and I wouldnt wish it on anyone. (just the pain part it would be nice for them to understand how dibilitating it can be)

Goood job! Congrats! That is quite inspiring, the fact that you could only walk for 5 minutes but kept going! amazing dude! annnd i must agree i also love the t! ....your post sounds to be attracting geeks :p
