I need to gain weight

I'm 6'0.5 weighed at about 141 a week ago.

I wanted to gain weight badly, so I started eating 6000 calories day, I'm continuing to do that to do that to this day, but the only problem is some how I've been losing weight! I don't even exercise much.

I'm currently 136 pounds which pushes me to underweight BMI wise.

What can I do to gain weight. The food I've been eating has had a lot of fat and carbs as well. I know if I lose 13-14 more pounds I'll be at physically wasted BMI.

Weight gainers are mostly sugar. Don't waste your time.

To the OP: you may have an exceptionally high metabolism, but you still can't break the laws of thermodynamics: if you eat above your maintenance, you'll gain weight. If 6000 isn't working (which is hard to believe: that's equal to 44 times your body weight...Ghandi would turn into the Buddha with an intake like that), try 7000, 8000, etc. Lift heavy with low reps and low volume to start, and then re-asses your training depending on your results. Why don't you actually post what it is that you're eating?

The laws of physics don't make mistakes: people do. Something tells me that you aren't eating what you think you are, and that you're not working out with a good plan.

If you are truly eating 6000 calories a day and losing weight at about 140. You may have some digestive system disorder. Recheck your calorie calculations. If you are sure about your calculations, see a doctor.

My doctor checked along time ago in around march saying I was fine. I wasn't underweight back than though.
Tell me if this makes sense, sugar makes me tired, and caffine also puts me to sleep.

Well if you want a food example this was what I ate on wednesday: I started the morning with 8 square waffles (90 calories a waffle), and a glass of OJ with a Multi Vitamine.
For lunch I ate 2 Triple Pbj's, 2 bag of pretzels (90 calories a bag), 2 bag of carrots (70 calories a bag), 2 ice cream bars, 4 pop tarts (200 calories per pop tart), 1 oat bar, 1 ceral bar, bag of peanut butter ritz crackers, a rice chrispy bar. and 2 small cartons of Chocolate milk.
In the evening I ate 2 full size canadian bacon pizzas (990 calories per pizza), a cup of BROCCOLI, big glass of milk, a homemade triple pbj sandwich, 6 cans of mountain dew (170 calories a can), 5 chocolate chip cookies, a glass of 7-up.
That day had a little more than usual, but not by much.

Yep, that's about 6k alright! :D

How long have you been eating like this? What where you eating like before your new "diet?" What do your workouts look like? What did they look like before your dietary change? What is your sleeping like?

Also, just a suggestion, but that's not exactly the healthiest way to eat, weight gain goal or not...you'd be far better off trying to cut out all of the junk food and eating a little "cleaner"

I think you need to weight lift. Start off with a simple full body routine doing 3 sets of 10 reps on the main lifts.

Go to the Weight Training Section on the forum and read Weight Training 101 on the sticky.

Weight training can really help at weight.

Holy s**t you eat all this for one day !?!?? i can eat this for 3 days at least !
Btw try to eat something with more meat... u know what i mean about 3 steaks or something man
Yea i have a hight metabolisum too thats why pretty much i eat everything i want and i dont gain weight too :p. The only thing helped me to gain 15 IB for a month was when i took protein, creatine and amino acids for that one month. So you should try by taking proteins and creatine, then punishing yourslef with so much food in one day i would explode and hate food for rest of my life if eat so much.

Because of my Religion I can't eat beef products.

Per day I've been doing 3 sets of 30 pounds reps 15 times. I have gained good arm muscle from that but i'm still light weight.

my guess is I need to gain per muscle in my butt and thigh area, because my whole life it seems like I've hat the most fat there then any place on my body and it seems despite my thinness I one of the bigger behinds that I've seen.
My guess is if I can gain some muscle there to replace the fat it might actually help.

On my thursday comsumption of food I really didn't have much junk food. It was really just the mountain dew near the end of the day. This md wasn't all at once though, more like 2-10PM. 4 poptarts probably wasn't the smartest idea though..

Anymore It seems like I only sleep 7 hours anymore, after that I cannot fall asleep. Besides tonight where I went to sleep really early. I went to sleep at 5PM after going to a lot of places and woke up to my older sisters voice at 2:30AM and couldn't fall back to sleep. So thats 9.5 hours, probably could of slept more if wasn't for her...

I know for people my age doctors reccommend around 10-11 hours, but I just can't sleep like that anymore, even though I want to.

-------------------------------

My plans are to cut back on sugar, because I'm probably having to much and to gain some lower body muscle. What do you think?

A few things:

1) You're likely deficient in protein (doesn't have to be super-excessive, but at least 1g per lb, ~140g/day for you)

2) Fats. Eat them. They're very calorie dense. Olive oil, peanut butter, things in that category. Try to supplement with fish oil, flax, things of that nature.

3) Definitely try to cut out the sugars if you can.

4) Can't eat beef? You've still got lots of options. The Cytogainer recommended above is a good option actually; 4 scoops + 3cups of whole milk is something around 100g carbs (mostly decent, Cytosport uses good carbs), 75g protein, and I think 900ish calories. Tuna, eggs, milk, chicken, there's all kinds of protein sources.

That said-- You're 140 lbs at 6' tall. At this point the best advice to be given is to just ****ing eat. Worry about details once you've actually added some size and learned how it's done. Just remember that you have to have some baseline amount of protein and healthy fats to see the best results.
