Okay guys, (I'm new on here) so I've been kinda big my whole life... right now I'm at my breaking point and I feel like I would do better if I had people counting on me. I currently weigh 210-215. I am 5'4". And I am 19 years old.

My goal weight is 150-140. The main problem right now is that I have a desk job for 8 hours a day 5 days a week.

Please anyone willing to be a friend and help talk me through it or give tips!

Hi Claire & a belated welcome to the forum. I mostly stick to the diaries section & my suggestion would be for you to start a diary over there. The link to it is http://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/9-weight-loss-diary
If you just copy what you put in this thread, including your photos, I'm sure you will get some support. I will make sure to keep an eye out for you. With a desk job it's important that you get up & move about whenever you get the opportunity. Instead of sitting in a staff room in your breaks, start going for a walk. Do you have access to a gym? What sorts of food are you eating?
Hope to catch up soon in the diary section. There are many lovely & supportive people there from all over the world, xo Cate

Hi Claire!

I wish you all the best for your mission.

Is not easy working and at the same time losing weight. It depends also how stressful is your job position. Ask a nutritionist for a menu during the workng day.

In my case, I have a stressful jobs and I'm considering new job opportunities. Stress is one of the reasons of my weight problems... when I am stressed I eat, eat and eat... of course junk food, sweets, etc.

3 days ago I started a "battle" against my 88 lbs (40 kg) I have to lose in 1 year. I opened a blog called "The Battle of 40kg" in order to log the loss of my weight...

We keep in touch.

Bye Bye.

Hi Claire! I am also new around here. My mission is to help others. It is very important that you find ways to move a little during that time on your desk. There are some "desk stretches" that I find helpful (also have a desk job). And it is important that you walk around every hour or couple of hours. You'll do great! I would love for you to connect with me if you need additional motivation. One of my passions is to help and motivate others.

Hi Claire! Good luck with your journey! I have recently been through my own and I found support on things like Instagram and Twitter helped me, now I'm looking to help others through as well! You can do anything if you out your mind to it and remember motmot push yourself too hard at the beginning. A steady pace will get you there.
When it comes to diet, make sure you aren't cutting too much out on days where you workout as you could burnout. I am sure you will be fine and all the best with your progress! I'm here if you have any questions or just want a boost! Good luck ??

I have always been a little big too. Then I decided to do a 10 day diet to get a kick start. But it's hard to stick to the diet, I know. My solution was that I bought 20 small plastic boxes. Then one day I bought a lot of veggies and 2-3 kinds of lean meat, I cooked it all and placed 100 grams and 150 grams of meat in every box, and a bunch of veggies in every box. Then I had lunch and dinner for 10 days. The boxes with 100 grams of meat for lunch and 150 grams for dinner.

It doesn't really matter if you follow a diet or not, you could just make some healthy food. The good thing about this is that every day you don't have to struggle deciding if you are going to spend time cooking healthy or just eat some quick junk food. The box is already there! :D It helped me a lot! So my tips is basically to one in a week or so, make portions of healthy food for many days ahead and the healthy food will be ready for you :) Good luck!

Hi Claire!
Be proactive when it comes to making an effort to move around more, especially at work.
If I got to work 10 minutes early, I would walk around the building instead of sitting at my desk.
After I ate lunch, I would go outside and take a 20 minute walk. Walk during your breaks as well! Try taking the stairs instead of the elevator. There are various chair exercises you can do during your breaks at work as well. Just YouTube them :)
Remember, you got this!
