I may be a new convert

I have long held fast to bicep curls ....not 5 different kinds like some guys..but plain ol' standing barbell curls after my pull ups.

This week, on a whim because I got a new pull up bar I did 4 sets of chins after my pull ups and it felt great! I think I'm going to change my routine
 
chinups work the back too, just like pullups. you dont want to overtrain or create inbalances in your routine-make sure you balance out the extra verticle pull with verticle push.
