I love Special K Cereal

Hi everyone.

I'm a 20 year old female who has gained some weight since college started 2 years ago. Now going up to my junior year, I really want to be able to take control and stay in shape and lose all that weight I have gained. In the past, I have resorted to unhealthy measures to diet. All those past experiences have made my metabolism go crazy and it would be so much easier for me to just drastically cut my eating, but I want to do it the healthy way this time!
I'm 5'7" and I weight 168.3 lbs. And I am in a panic here. This is the heaviest I have been. When I was at my best shape with tennis team and cross country team, I used to weight somewhere around ~125. I want to go back!

-How much weight do you want to lose? I want to lose about 45 pounds. I want to be around my old weight. So I put my goal down for 122, so 46.3 lbs it is!

-What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? I'm giving myself 45 weeks to get to my target, a pound per week. Ideally, I would want to lose more in the beginning, so it would be nice if I could be done in March-April '10.

-How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? I began counting calories and have been working out at the gym. These days, I'm eating Special K cereal (I don't know why but I love the cereal) for breakfast before work, snack during work, when I come home at 2, I have a healthy but filling meal, and go work out between 4-5, then eat fruit, veggies for dinner. I have cut out junk food, fast food, and soda. But I am giving myself one meal during the weekend, when I eat what I want so that I will be more willing to continue this for a long period of time.

-Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
My family will be very supportive and my roommate will also be very supportive. She and I are planning to go work out at school and such.

-How realistic is your goal? I think my goals are pretty realistic. Before, I was planning to lose more than 2 pounds per week which burned me out after couple weeks.

-When will you start?
I have already started with counting calories and working out so it is being continued!

good luck girl... you can totally do it. You have a very similar goal to what i had when i started... i just made it to 124.... you can do this!!!!!!!! :)
 
So yesterday was Day 1 of my diary.

Breakfast: 3/4 cup of cereal with skim milk
Lunch: Tofu, veggies, rice
Dinner: Tofu, watermelon, 1 banana

Workout: 21 minutes on treadmill- ran at 5.7, 7.0 at intervals for 10 minutes which ended up being a mile, speed walk at incline 10 for 11 minutes. Stretch. 35 minutes on elliptical.

Today's Weight was: 167!

I'm feeling great and I can't wait to go back to the gym later in the afternoon. :)
 
Yesterday was my free day and I ended up going out with some friends. I thought I would have gained some weight today but i was surprised that I weight 166.1 lbs this morning! Yay! All the daily exercises must be paying off!
