I have finally decided to get serious about losing weight. I am missing out on way too much by being as heavy as I am and it isn't fair to my family. I am hoping to give my fit, handsome husband back the woman that he fell in love with a hundred and something pounds ago. Here goes, it feels odd to spill my guts about my weight when I try so hard to hide it.

I know you can do it, now that you have taken the first step. If I can lose weight, anyone can...I am 49 years old and have recently dropped 31 pounds and am almost to my goal weight.

It does take time, committment, and determination. Set small goals for you to reach, perhaps every 10 pounds celebrate with a small present or outing. Breaking the total loss into smaller ones makes it seem less formidable and more doable.

Thank you very much. So far, I have mostly just cut out junk, and as much fat as I can. I am going to start lifting weights. I have lost 9 pounds so far. I have a lot to go but I am determined this time.
 
Well, I gained it back. I wish I had the willpower and could keep myself motivated to do this. How many times can you lose and gain back the same ten pounds? oy :banghead:
 
that first 10 pound is a crafty 10 pounds, it is mostly water weight, and stomach content, once you stop dieting it WILL come back. the key is to stick with it for a while and get it to go lower, and then COUNT ON IT COMING BACK its just part of being normal.... for instance...

My low carb phase last week dropped me to a record low 162.6. After a planned week end of maintenance, and carb re-feed (maybe I got a little carried away, ok no maybes i put some hurtin on some carbs) Here I am monday at a whopping 174.6 what is that almost 12 pounds :) I'll report back in thursday morning at at least 162 or lower.
