I have a dream

Hey all,

I am new here and have decided I am fed up with my body. I weighed myself this morning and saw my weight at a stagering 274.5

Time for some change. Tomorrow is my first test, Thanksgiving dinner (in Canada) at the folks. I will need to let myself enjoy the food but not stuff myself until I can't move.

Anyway, I want to drop about 100 pounds by June. Not even sure if this is possible but that's my goal. That's about 12 pounds a month ish.

Monday I have the day off so I think it will be the perfect day to go get a camera so I can document my weight loss. I am thinking of taking a picture every week or so when I weigh myself. I am joining pool on Monday as well. I used to swim a long time ago and I really enjoyed it.

I started taking my bike to work, it's about 10-15 minutes each way. I figure everything helps. Anyway, should I be documenting everything here? I've never held a diary before and I don't really know how to use one to my benefit.

Thank you all and wish me luck :D

Good Luck!!! You can post whatever you want in your diary - I post food, exercise anything that's bugging me or making me happy at the moment.. just begin at the beginning and things will evolve on their own!

A healthy loss is about 1 to 2lb per week, not sure if that's an attainable goal but if you workout, watch your calorie intake and drink lots of water then I think you might get pretty close! You might check out and - both have good tools to get you started.

And we love pictures here - just look at the before during and after page! lol.

Anyway - welcome to the forum and your journal!! :D:D

Today will be a tough day for me. I just woke up to go to work so I am running on 3 hours of sleep. Yup I work at 6:30 am on weekends. I don't like that and I am looking for a Monday to Friday job right now. Gotta do what you gotta do in the meantime.

So for breakfast I plan on having a bowl of cereal with a banana in it. I am going to bring to work with me an apple, a plumb and a pear. I plan on getting a 6 inch turkey sub on brown w/ no mayo and no cheese and every veggie. Then tonight will be my Thanksgiving dinner at the folks house.

I wish everyone a good day today. Bye bye for now.

Hello and welcome! Already off to a great start! Good luck at Thanksgiving...I know when that time comes around here it's going to be hard because of all the delicious food I make (not to toot my own horn ;)) but all of it is very bad for you food too....so I plan on doing alot of reserch to make healthier recipies this year. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey and welcome..... yea those holidays are rough. I can remember hitting the grandmothers, our house then about 12 realatives. you swear your just gonna visit but then 3 plates at each house. This year I hope to be different. so The holidays are rough on me as well.

Alright so last night wasent thanksgiving, it's tonight! yay. For dinner had some lasagna (small piece) and I made some sort of veggie concauction. It was red pepers (from my father's garden :)) brocolli, ongion, celery, asperagus and home made salsa. I cooked it slightly so the veggies were still a bit crunchy. It was delicious.

So last night I didnt eat after 6pm for the first time in forever. It was so hard but I know I can do it every night.

I also decided to quit everything that keeps me on the couch. I quit playing video games until I loose 30 Lbs. I don't watch much T.V. to begin with so it's not hard to reduce my hours. I now reduced my T.V. time from 3 hours to 2 hours a day. Not too difficult.

For breakfast today I had a Banana and cereal again. Im about to call the gym to see if they are open, if they are Im going for my first swim today. Can't wait.

They were not open cause of the holiday, but I will go tomorrow morning. On the bright side I didn't have seconds tonight even if I could have. I had some desert though, but it was small. :)
