I can do it - Starting at 370lbs, 6'2"

Hot topic pants are often a bit ostentatious and have lots of pockets, straps and metal on them with stitching in color or trimmed with color and a number of other things varying from pair to pair. They're anything but mundane so I like them.

Haha, hot topic is a trippy store. It's really cool when you're having a 'I wanna be a badass' moment!!

Congrats on the loose pants, buddy! I'm really happy for you, and slightly envious, I'm wishing my tightest pants to suddenly just be too loose... :D keep up the great work, it's apparently paying off!

Don't be jealous, I imagine a pair of your loosest pants could serve as ankle warmers for me ha.

Down to 362 so far. Still staying below my goal calorie intake.

Think I found a good elliptical that's local, barely used, and for 1/3 the cost of a new one. I'll find out later today. I'm excited about that. I was loosing motivation on getting one when I found they (the ones at the price I cared to spend) were likely to fall apart and scream in pain at me for all being rated for below 250 lbs or lower. This one's rated for 350lbs and looks solid.

I'm still feeling a bit 'off'. Don't know how to describe it but I've also cut out probably 80% of my average caffeine intake too, and about that out of my grease intake. So I guess I should expect that.

Weighed in at 360 this morning. So that makes 10lbs in 7 days. I haven't seen the 350s for some time so I'm looking forward to that.

Probably going to pick up that elliptical today, lookin forward to that too.

Still trying to research weight loss and nutrition. Lots to learn though and so many opinions out there.

359 this morning. Got my elliptical yesterday. Its 200 something pounds and I got a pretty good workout just picking it up and getting it home. Gonna start out small and work my way up to hopefully 1.5hrs a day.

358 and counting.

While it's no surprise to me, I'll go ahead and add it to this public log - I have no endurance. The first time I got on the elliptical I put in around 3 min, literally. Now, I could have kept going but I seem to have this thing about exertion though. Something in my brain is saying "ok, wait a minute, what's going on here? You're in severe danger of breaking a sweat if you keep this up; you know that right? Go chill and have a sit."

I'm making up for it in spurts of 5 to 8 minutes here and there till I get used to it a bit. Still kinda weird for me. I never really used an elliptical before but I figured it would be the tool to get. Best thing would be a swimming pool but that's not gonna happen now. But anyway, yeah its new and when I think about it, I can actually feel my body back on the machine. Kinda weird. I like it though.

I found out about the Biggest Loser show (not a big TV watcher) and got a hold of season 10. Now that's some motivating stuff. Makes me think maybe I should push for a goal of 2 lbs a day. Slow and steady wins the race though, so we'll see. Whatever works.

Oh i remember that stage! i thought those elliptical were AWEFUL! I could not even break 2 minutes and it just felt off.
Now i can easily go for 30 minutes or more, soo much better! In the beginning i found cycling the easier option , i just set it to do hills or intervals

Just came by to say HI and WELL DONE :) You're doing so well, you've definitely made some excellent changes.

As for the elliptical... I still can barely do a minute on that bloody thing! My thighs burn and I don't like it! Lol. Although, I'm not a fan of most machines... I have to be 'tricked' into exercise ahah.

Hey, thanks. I'm up to 16 min per go a couple separate times today. May do another one before the day ends. My heart rate never seems to go above 80 so I clearly am not pushing myself, but I'm getting progressively better day by day. And looking at it realistically its only been a very few days since I started and I'm not on a TV show so I think for real world results, it's alright so far.

I've been adding some daily stretches to work on flexibility. Might look to get back into martial arts before it's said and done.

This weight loss escapade is definitely infringing upon my work hours because it's more than just the few mins on the machine, its researching, keeping track of cals, watching motivating shows. So I'm also looking to work on my time management. As usual there's always so many things I want to do and never enough time for them all. I'll have to learn to keep my body and health higher on my priorities for the rest of my life.

No weight loss to report today, first day without a pound down since I started. Not demotivated though, it'll come off.

Been pretty good at staying around 1500 cals. Its really not so hard. Especially since I can grab a grilled chicken sandwich from just about any fast food chain, omit the may, and put some honey mustard on at home, and get away with a tasty meal for around 270 cals, main thing is defintely cutting out the tots or fries. So I order two just in case I'm still hungry, but always end up saving the other one for a few hours later.

And my favorites salad from walmart comes with a lot of Caesar dressing, too much than is really needed I think - so omit about 1/2 of it and the salad drops to around 500 cals instead of 720. Dressing is a killer. Gonna have to try some lite dressings out.

Since I begun I haven't been above 3000 calories in a day so far, and that's even with eating out with my dad a couple times. And the meal at buffalo wild wings was even moderately indulgent by my old standards, but still guilt free, for me at least, because I did good the rest of the day.

I realize now that if I had made a rule for myself years ago saying 'be good at least two meals a day' I'd probably be 100lbs lighter pretty easily. Small changes lead to big accumulations over time - goes both ways, and is true in many aspects of life.

No weight loss to report for today either. Not sure why exactly but from what I understand so far it could be from not drinking enough and not eating enough too.

Had 1300 cals yesterday and 45 min collectively on the elliptical. Haven't had a speck of sugar in a while. (unless you count fake sugar from diet drinks)

Made it to 30min in one session at a light pace so far today. Probably will have around 1500 or so cals today (xmas is just another day to me and there are no exuberant meals planned)

It's been really really hard to drink water. It's like trying to gag down bad medicine. Hopefully when I start to actually exert myself with exercise the water cravings will come back.

I gained today - oh right, must be xmas lol. Its only temporary thank god, i wasnt too bad :)
I agree, its the whole small bits all over the show that add up. Couple of nicely eaten healthy meals makes a huge difference :D

Turns out I've been losing more than I thought. The scale I was using was really cheapo and it was starting to strip out or something and adding about a pound off zero every time it was used. Talk about feeling like spinning your wheels lol.

SO I caught it in its act after stepping on it a few times in a row and I got a new more expensive and seemingly quality scale that has nifty electrodes that read out estimates of bmi, hydration level, body fat, and bone mass.

So, updated weight is - 352.6lbs (yay)
45.2bmi (yikes)
Body Fat 59.4% (holy flabby butterballs batman)
Hydration Level 29.6% (whatever that means)
7lb bone mass (whatever that means, sounds low though)

So 35lbs down. And about 18lbs since I started this blog, about 14 days ago. Which means I'm dropping around a pound and a quarter a day so far. Sweet.

Well done Sam!! It's always good to have the right tools in a committed weight loss journey :) It really does help you along the way! I spent $200 on a set of scales a few years ago, and they haven't let me down yet! They also do all the fancy body fat %, bmi etc stuff as well :) Pretty cool I reckon!

Pleasant surprise this morning weighing in at 348.6. Haven't seen the 40s in a while. 4lbs down from yesterday though of course yesterdays weigh in was mid day and after some meals. So, 22 lbs down in 15 days so far

Also when I got the scale yesterday I picked up some stuff called crystal light which is some powder mix you can add to a water bottle to make it palatable, at least that's how I see it and the strawberry banana is definitely a winner so far though I got a few others to try but it was great and I'll definitely be able to start adding water to the mix now, maybe even replace the diet drinks.

Copying over my daily calorie counts from since I started counting till yesterday, new years eve. Just for future reference.

oh yeah, currently 344.8, seems weight loss is slowing down a little. I've also been prone to sleeping longer lately, not sure why.

Sounds like you're doing great! Well done on your loss! Wish we had Crystal Light over here! :( Is it very low in Calories? :)

yeah they are low cal, some are 5 cals, some are 30 cals. Some are advertised to have other stuff with them like metabolism boost and vitamins. They all taste better than kool-aid to me. Heck I prefer them to most any drink I've had to date really.
