How to strengthen the external oblique muscle of the abdomen?

I just noticed, while I happened to be randomly poking around my stomach, that while my abs are pretty hard, the side is rather EXTREMELY weak. Now, I was like "wtf?! How come this is so weak?"

Anyway's, anyone know of any exercises to strengthen these weaklings? Without the use of machines, or equipment. :confused:
 
Woodchops and Reverse Woodchops work great. You can use a medicine ball or anything that you can comfortably control 8-15lbs.

You perform it exactly how it sounds. Stand with feet shld width and start chopping wood down diagonally across your body holding some sort of weight in your hands. Rev. Woodchops are performed in the exact opposite way.
