How to get lean without mass

Hello fitness guru's

I am 25 yrs old. I have always been a skinny guy, at 5'10. But the past few years after not keeping active and drinking quite a bit of beer and partying, I have really let myself go. I am still considered skinny but it's the worst kind of skinny, loose skinny - as in no definition. I have started to make signifigant changes to my diet and lifestyle ie. low carbs high protein, cardio, and weights. The dilemma is that I don't want to build too much mass, I like being thin. I want to develop and extremely ripped physique with little to no body fat. I don't want huge bulging muscles. Everything I read tells me to eat protein after a workout, and drink shakes etc on top of a high protein low carb diet. But this seems to work for building MASS not focusing on definition and decreasing fat.

What are the best ways to achieve the body I want. Thin, extremely lean and defined with little to no fat. Diet, workout regime etc.?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
S

Well, depending on your build, which you described as "loose skinny", I imagine that you are going to gain SOME mass in order to get a defined look. Otherwise you'll end up looking "skinny skinny" not lean or defined.

I would suggest starting with a good full body routine, 3-4 times a week. Make sure you are lifting heavy to maintain your muscle mass. also focus on eating at LEAST your maintenence level of calories. You dont want to under eat and lose whatever muscle mass you may have. Check out to help determine your daily calorie requirments and track your food for a while until you get a feel for how much you should be eating...

Hope this helps!

as skian said keep lifting but once you reach your target, then dont increase the weight and you should maintane the size you have reached,as long as you dont eat to much/little.

you're not gonna wake up and be huge. To get muscle definition you gotta have muscle, so i would build some muscle if i were you. If you think ur getting too huge, simply slow down the eating.
