I regret not writing down my start date for working out. (And the amount of weight and reps I did...and photographs...)
I am making progress in every session, be it as little as one extra rep, or weight increases or both - in every exercise and on both of my days. Strength is increasing, as measured by my log , kept since 10 months.
I photograph myself monthly and see size growth. BUT - how long does it take to get "there". I am talking about the point where appearance meets strength. Where the bicepts become guns and the quads levers and the chest and neck like a bull.
I know it is drastically different for everyone, but surely, someone knows how long it takes to go from soft to a hercules. Muscle takes time - everyone knows that - but how long until its size passes the "fit" stage into the "big" stage? ? ?
