How long for a personal trainer?

Ok, I been working out for a year now, showing good results.

I was thinking of going to a Gym for a Personal Trainer for me and my wife, I am currently remodeling our basement and will buil a personal Gym in it.

But I think getting a Personal trainer for a few weeks would be very beneficial to me and my wife in the mean time.

So we can learn how to lift correctly and eat correctly.

So what time period would be a good starting point?

1/2 session for 6 weeks? 2-3 days

hour session for 6 weeks 2-3 days

1/2 hour 8 weeks 2-3 days

1 hour for 8 weeks 2-3 days

What is a good starting point?? for a couple? I was thinking of going to Golds Gym near by or LA fitness that is building a brand new facility close by.

As I understand I can have a PT at a gym without belonging to the GYM? is that correct?

Any feedback is appreciated

If you've been working out for a year do you really need the tuition on form?
If you know how to lift then you could just use an internet based PT and save a load of money.

Either way you do it, PT's are great, I've only ever worked with one on a face to face basis for about 5 sessions though and I think that was enough. Once I learnt how to lift properly and judge weights for myself there's little need to have one stood next to you

Yea for me it would be about Proper form, new routines, suggestions, etc.

For my wife, she would listen better to someone else, simply because it is someone else and not me who has been with her for 17 years, I think outside advice would be benificial to her.
