How does everyone stay motivated?

Recently I have had trouble motivating myself to stick to my routine. It probably is because school is almost over and i am swamped with work and preparing for finals so i find i don't have quite the same amount of time to lift. I still get in the gym 2 or 3 times a week but i used to be there 4 or 5 and i have wandered off the path on my diet a litle bit. I was wondering if you guys had any motivational tips. Thanks!

You just gotta ask yourself: "how much do I want this kind of body?" I just tell myself doin nothing doesnt do nothin. Other than that, the people in the weight room motivate me. Just their presence. Thats why my workouts suck when I do it at home haha.

I like getting stronger, going to the gym and lifting more and more motivates me. And i love getting comments about how much bigger ive gotten. Been working out since jan 05 and havent skipped more than a week since.

Knowing that i'm bigger than the average guy in my grade at school. Mirrors also, it sound stupid but just look in the mirror at what you've become and you'll stay motivated. Athletes on TV and what they went through to get to look like how they did. lots of things really. I'm also a big pro wrestling and a casual MMA fan and they have some of the best bodies in the world. I wanna look like them and i havn't even mentioned the feeling you get after a good workout. I'm not lacking motivation lol.

And whatever you do...Don't stop working out. It's one of the worst feelings when you miss like a couple months at the gym and realise you're back where you started.

Lifting is my easy part because I enjoy it.

I quite simply hate every aspect of cardio. So its headphones on, hard music up loud, and telling myself to stop being a pussy and just get out there and do it.

Dont feel bad about skimping down to 2 times, you got other things going on. Depending on your school, things that cost quite a bit of money. Just ease back on the gym, and focus on school work. Once you're done, you'll feel better and then you can kick it up back full steam. Theres nothing wrong with taking a break, especially when you have a good reason.

I just got done with finals week, so I know how it is. Take a break, you can get away with it. Just keep eating healthy.

I look at pictured of myself when my biceps were 12 inches often. That reminds me that i never want to be back there.
I would recommend to anyone taking 'before' pictures of yourself and keeping them for comparison purposes.

I tend to make fun of fat people a lot and so it motivates me to keep thin or else I'll just end up making fun of myself. J/K. I just love going. I remember how great it feels to get a good workout and when I'm tired I know that if I go to the gym I will leave feeling more pumped and have a lot more energy

I keep a list and add to it everytime something comes up that I view as failure and can therefore turn into motivation. When I reach my goal of who I want to be and what I want to look like i'm going to turn that list into a T-shirt. Currently just some examples of let downs that have motivated me are wanting to live up to my brothers standards who was a marine and fought in Iraq, not making the baseball team, and being dumped by a girl for a bigger guy. And there are plenty more. Motivation is all around you but it's easy to forget as soon as the burn sets in. So write it down and read it everytime you don't feel motivated, trust me that angry feeling will come back and you'll hit the weights harder than ever.
