Home exercise

Hi all,
I have access to a gym but tend to only have time for cardio there.
Weight Loss is NO concern for me at all
I am 5'7" 130 pounds. I am 31 years old and have had two children.
I am seeking some home exercises for the core area (butt, abs, thighs) or does anyone have any suggestions on workout dvds they have had success with.
I do not need motivation i have that I just need quality result producing home exercies. and is 3times a week still sufficient?
Thanks in advance for your input

Cardio work is something you can do anytime of day, you can do it with no equipment at all.

you'd be far better off seeing a personal trainer and doing your weights workout in the gym and doing your cardio at home.

by the way your core muscles are your abs, obliques and back (spine erectors) your butt and thighs are classed as your legs.

In my diary on this site, I review many dvd's and vhs tapes. That's what I use in my AM workouts; I do the bike or walk at night.

I use one called "Hard Body Yoga" by Tari Rose. That's a really good, intense video if you already have quite a bit of strength. I probably wouldn't recommend it if you're a beginner though.

Do you have hand weights at home? I would recommend getting some and a stability ball and working all of your muscles in a split routine. One day doing upper body, one day doing lower body, etc. How old are your kids? You could even have them be involved with the workout like press them into the air, have them sit on your back while you do pushups...make it fun!

Let me know if you need more help!

Get a stability ball and some free weights. You can do almost any exercise with those two pieces of equipment. Specific exercises for you butt, ab, and thighs...

I'd say you need a full body routine. Once that includes those muscles and also the chest, back, shoulders, biceps, triceps, and calves.

You can check out exrx.net or strength-training-woman.com for detailed pics and descriptions. Good luck!

Hi,

I agree that it might be best to do cardio at home and weights at a gym. Having a program personalized to you would be helpful as well.

It's important to work all your muscle groups. Building strength all over the body is important. Don't be afraid to challenge yourself with heavy weights, but always maintain proper form.
