HITT on stairs?

The collisseum here on campus has an indoor flat track (that is really just the path around the section entrances) and along with it a ton of stairs, stairs, and more stairs. Would something like slow jogging around a section of the loop, bounding up the next set of stairs, coming back and slow jogging to the next set do the same as sprints on flatland?

I've done this. Yeah it really got me sore. My quads were killing me the next day as I had trouble jogging. lol. I'll stick to regular sprints since the soreness isn't as bad.

I have never done that before, but I will try it.

a monday can be HIIT on the grass (I am training for soccer, so I need the grass and not the track. Grass is harder to run on and need to get used to it)

a wednesday can be on the stairs

I'll try this=) next week when I go back to school.
