Hiring a PT: Boxing

Hi all:boxing_smiley:

OK I am now officially ADDICTED to boxing!.....

Initially I started to facilitate weight loss and improve strength...

I have been thinking about hiring one of the boxing trainers (I go to a local boxing studio 5 mornings per week and do two kickboxing sessions and three boxing sessions) who, in my opinion, works me the hardest during class....

Do you think that hiring him once a week will be beneficial or maybe I should just add a different activity to my workout.... maybe concentrating on handweights/leg press? (we do a lot of work with bars/medicine balls/pushups situps in class but maybe I need to give more time to "real" weights)...

Cheers
Kat;)

I think its realy up to you, either way i see benefits.

Just on entering the harbour bridge (south side) i always tend to see trainers with their clients, ususally boxing! Sounds like something youd enjoy :p

Outdoor boxing sounds great too but with all the rain we have been having lately people's routine might get a bit out of wack....

But yes... I LOVE boxing... its a combination of feeling fitter & stronger every week combined with the fact that its such an awsome release of stress/tension.... I have found that as time moves on that i become more and more interested in the technique... the place i go to aint no Fitness First... certainly arn't any chicky babes cycling with mimimul effort with a magazine balancing over the display!!

Anyway better stop there as I could rant on all day about it...

Boxing is phenomenal exercise and I think it's great to implement it as part of your regular training program. I try to keep a variety of things in my program and this is one of them.

It's one of the best workouts that I get. Of course, it is still completely up to the individual to give it 100% to get the most out of it though.

I agree Pat - it really works up a sweat..... I am starting to mix things up now incorporating weights an HIIT but am still doing boxing every weekday morning.....
