Hip Help

I'd love to have a nice butt except that there's one problem, and that is my HIPS!! No, I don't have wide ones; I've got narrow hips. I'd like to widen my hips at least a bit, because they really make the (positive) difference.

Does anyone know an exercise or workout that would help me achieve that?
I already do squats and lunges to tone, lift, etc my butt. But hips that are a teeny bit wider and curvier will really help.

p.s. please, don't ask me why I want wider and dont tell me how ugly you look with them! guys LIKE curves...and i dont have them.
 
Devilish Monkey (at the risk of sounding preachy/teachy/mushy again) getting your body in gear for what guys or anyone else likes or is not necessarily the move.

Muscle on the hips can be gained but what you are probably referring to is some fat on the hips which comes with age, time, your body skelatal structure..hereditary, and/or deliberate gaining which usually occurs on the whole body..its not so easy to just gain/lose we we want..spot gaining/reduction. Sometimes its a matter of picking the right clothing and color..e.g. darker always thins or narrows for the most part. LOTS of women with narrow hips have active love lives and look fine it thats the case. Keep an open mind about what another may not like in you...so far sounds like you are on a generic path. Your desire can be the beginning of a good thing. We never have a problem with ourselves until someone says something or we start to be noticed or notice the world. Thats ok, theres always room for improvement...if that is truly the case. In one sense it is healthy and great that you are so observant and aware but keep it on the right track...take it deeper..not just on the surface or superficial. We all go through these kind of things...in our are teens or 20s..if you're older then definitely cut it out. In general take some time to stand in front of your mirror naked if you have to and look at yourself...really...for a long time...and I'm sure you'll realize you are a unique miracle. Your inner attitude about yourself deep down is the real issue and what really matters...its your true mirror.

I hope others will give you advise on what exercises, diet, etc or not to focus on for building your hip area. The abovementioned is what I have to offer. Start off your body perspecitive with and for the real YOU :D ..thats the real "positive" difference. ;)

Kylee raises some good points. How old are you? My hips didn't get their width until my 20's. In time your hips may just grow. Please, try not to worry about what guys like. I know it's hard not too. Even though people can be superficial, there's a lot more to finding a mate than hips.
That being said, yes, heavy weights on various types of squats, lunges, leg presses, deadlifts, etc may make a bit of difference for you.
