what does that mean?

Hight Intensity Interval Training.

This is basically a form of cardio workout that is broken down into intervals. There is a period of all out sprinting and a period of medium intensity jogging. For example Sprint for 30 seconds, jog for 1min30sec . for a 2 minute interval.

repeat this 10 times and you have yourself a very effective fat burning exercise in as little as 20 minutes time.

I suggest a 5 minute warmup and cool down in addition

everything above is perfectly correct but it doesnt have to be with running/sprinting. you can do this with pretty much any form of cardio.
