High Sets / High Reps / 45 secs Rest for FAT loss ?? (5x12:45s)

So i was wondering if a weight program that consists of lot of reps (5x12 = 60) and a small rest time (45s) is ideal for FAT loss ... ? I was experimenting with it last week and it seems that i broke my plateau !!! If its good for FAT loss what about muscle and strength growth ? Need some opinions . Oh and another thing : Multi-Joint-Exercises only !!!

Thanks in advance

Generally a lot of reps with little rest is best for endurance and conditioning, not strength and power.

That's a tough question to answer. What's optimal for one regarding fat loss won't be optimal for another. For instance, a relatively lean female looking to get leaner would benefit most from one way of applying resistance training which would look much different than what an obese male would find the most utility in.

High reps, low rest is great for conditioning and caloric expenditure. Not so great for muscle maintenance.

Stroutman nailed it. It's hard to say what is good and works for one person and another. With that in mind, there is a GENERAL saying,

"If you want to gain muscle, lift heavy. If you want to lose fat, go on the threadmill."

It's most likely more benefital for you to add more cardio if your primary concerns is to burn calorie. Doing weight is GREAT as a compliment. Btw, what you are doing is good for depletion which is nice for losing bodyfat. If you are also calorie resticting along with that routine, it's painful and difficult; however, if you can pull that off... it might provide some amazing result. Try it out for a couple of weeks.

Thanks guys for the replies ! ;);)

The problem with me is that i plateau . :(:( After losing 22 lbs , i cant lose anymore . What shall i do ? Cut my calories? They are quite low already so lowering them more will lead in muscle loss . Thats why i chose to do more reps / sets , to burn more calories without losing muscle . (*I have access to the GYM (4-5 times /w) )

This is my progress :

So now i think i should start building muscle ... But i dont know if i can . I want to get a flat stomach and chest . My fat now is too much (i think) to be converted to muscle ... Dont know , im confused ...

Thanks
