hello everybody! I'm new to this whole blogging thing so I probably need a few days to catch on. Anyway, I'm a sophmore in college looking to lose my freshman 15...ok freshman 20 :(
For me, its not the number on the scale that really needs to change, but my overall appearance and satisfaction with my body. I noticed a lot of the weight I gained went to my face and arms, so if anyone has any tips&tricks to lose this noticable, added fat please post here!
I'm hoping this blog will help keep me motivated, as I'm usually known for attempting to start a diet one week and getting off track only a few days later. The worst thing I probably do is go on a complete binge the day before my 'diet', so that just adds on the pounds more and more.
I think keeping a food journal will help, or maybe count calories? I don't know..please help!


Yesterday I did binge (3,000 calories!!! :eek: ) and I'm determined to make that my last one!

I'm also going to start a new daily exercise routine, so if anyone has any exercise tips as well, let me knowww (I already belong to a gym, and I have a nice jogging route by my house so my exercise options are pretty open)

Hey girl!
I'm looking to lose about 20lbs as well!! Basically for similar reasons to you - general dissatisfaction with my appearance, fat goes to my face lol - and I HATE it in photos and such.

I am following the Curves diet which basically is a healthy eating plan that you can follow for life (there are 3 phases, the first two are "diet" phases and the third is the maintaining phase). I started a week ago - but crashed for 4 days and totally ate garbage like crazy, so I'm thinking of today as my fresh start haha.

Exercise - DAILY is the key - I suck at this, but it's sooooo important to do even a LITTLE bit every day.

Maybe you and I can keep eachother on track ;)

PS: Do you have any short term goals?? For example mine is to lose 8lbs for September (in the next 3 weeks)
 
hey! yes I think keeping eachother on track is a great idea!

As for short term girls, I have a 3-day cheerleading camp for school that starts 2 weeks from yesterday. It's going to be very intense, and I was supposed to be training all summer.. oops :blush5: I'm so lazy! So basically I'm looking to lose about 5 lbs. Maybe we can both try for 8 by September


What is that curves plan like?
 
Sounds good!! I wish I could join some sort of intense training, but I'm a wimp and am afraid to haha - I don't do "intense" very well - but maybe that's becuase I never have...or at least I haven't since I was younger. There is a boot camp that is run at a park nearby - it always looks crazy - but fun, but I'm too afraid to join haha
 
ok so today was officially my first day of my weight loss challenge..
I work a 10 hr day, just sitting in a desk office-so its hard to be active/not snack. but today I just brought a few crackers and pepperoni so I guess that's not so bad as going out spending money on pizza or tacos! I tried sticking with mostly fruits and veggies today. I feel like I should really dramatically cut out all the bad foods first and the maybe ease into a less restrictive diet, because otherwise I just have no control. If I'm eating a lot in the first place, I'll be more likely to eat even more.

Anyway, I went to the gym today too. walked/jogged for 45 minutes, then did a couple machines. The scale said I only weighed 126.5, but I didn't eat much today so I'm still pretty positive its about 130. Tomorrow I'll eat a little more, but still stick to the healthy options!


Time for bed, more work tomorrow =/
 
just an update:

The first day of my diet didn't go so well because I was kind've having a bad day and didn't eat a lot, so when I went to the gym I completely exhausted my body and felt naseaus all day yesterday. I guess because my blood sugar was so low and i barely slept at all this week. anyway, no more of that! yesterday was my brother's birthday so there were endless amounts of food on the table at dinner. I'm proud to say out of all the pizza and burgers and everything, I only took a plate of penne alla vodka and side salad. But noo, I lost control again. I took some ice cream cake and a brownie =( ugh

Oh well, today I'm having an egg white omlette for lunch and hopefully a healthy dinner. I'll definitely push myself to go to the gym tonight too.

Okay - so we both have to smarten up!! I definitely posted in my journal (Like one minute ago) that I am not doing so well - and have been making bad choices! My scale is broken too, so I don't even know how much I'm at (do I want to know???) lol.
But hey! YOu've gone to the gym! You're a step up from me!! I have an engagement BBQ thing tonight, and my goal is to make healthy choices!! I will have one glass of champagne (I'll probably have to for toasts), and will really focus on not gorging on food!

We can do this!! We really can!!!
 
ahh i haven't posted on here in a few days and that's because I've been slacking big time!! i haven't gone to the gym, I've been eating soo unhealthy--I haven't even posted because I'm too embarrassed to list all the junk food I ate! Chips, cookies, brownies, chocolae, you name it- I probably ate it! But this needs to change asap
I'm going to make sure I post in my journal every moring, maybe that will keep me on track and motivated! I definitely gained like 5lbs since I last wrote on here =(

Ok well today's a new day. Just had an apple and green tea for breakfast. Good start so far, I hope I can keep it up!

Hey Cheergrl! You can do this!! Just stay motivated and have the mindframe to change your life for the better and you will get thru the cravings. I know how u feel, im still getting thru them and i still cheat and mess up just not as much as before.
 
Thanks MicheeH! I'm finding the hardest part of all this is realizing how much temptation there is around me! Every since I started eating healthier, it seems like the mcdonalds that all my coworkers are eating around me smells stronger and better than ever...and im looking down at my homemade salad =(
but I know it will make me feel better in the end and maybe I'll feel stronger resisting all the temptation!! (or at least I hope so:eek:)

ok so yesterday was a so/so diet day:
breakfast-an apple and green tea
lunch-salad with cucumbers and vinegar dressing
snack-another apple & a piece of salt water taffy
dinner-(out to dinner) 9 pieces of sushi, one large kani salad (mayo, cucumbers, crabmeat), and then half a bowl of fried ice cream!! :eek:
etc- 2 bottles of water and a sugar free red bull

andd i didn't go to the gym =( i just layed in bed all nighttt
I have so much organizing and packing to do for school, but as soon as I get home from work all I want to do is sleep! I need to make time to pack and go to the gym

i'll update again tonight/tomorrow morning
stay motivated!

here's my food log from yesterday:

b-2 egg whites
l-bowl of fruit and sweet potato fries (baked)
d-small bowl of baked ziti
snack-a few slices of cheese =/
dessert- water ice from ralph's

I don't know why I randomly get cheese cravings, not good!

Still didn't go to the gym!! I really need to clean my room and pack by tonight or tomorrow though, then hopefully I'll get back on track
cheer camp starts monday and i'm so out of shape! :banghead:

and so far i started off my day today with an eggwhite omelet but it was overflowing with cheese! and 2 full pieces of toast ughhh
i need to get back on track asap!
