Hey all!

25 year old female from Brooklyn, NYC here!

I'm 5'-9" and started my weight loss journey in March 2008 at 210lbs.

13 months later, I'm 170lbs and working out HARD 5 days a week!

I'm looking into becoming a nutritionist or going to grad school to study physiology because this entire transformation has been an amazing learning experience!

I played soccer for years and was in great shape til I tore my acl and mcl in my left knee. 2 surgeries and a bachelor's degree later and I had gained SO much weight!

The picture on the left is from August 2006... The one on the right is from a few nights ago.

That after is 170lbs??? Holy shit! You look awesome! Great job!

Thank you!

Yep.. I'm 170ish right now. That picture's from 2 nights ago.

I'm 5'-9"... dense... muscular.. haha! Whatever you want to call it.

I don't want to lose any more than 10 or 15 lbs.

As an athlete in high school, I was 165lbs at my fittest! Heavy woman!

Let me get this straight, your first post on this forum is questioning someone on why it took so long to lose weight? I know you said "no offense" but whenever that is said it comes off negative. Everyone is different and goes at thier own pace. The original poster looks amazing and did an amazing job.

Why does it matter how long it takes?

Yeah, what Matt said!

Did you look at her picture? She looks incredible! My guess is that she took off fat and put on muscle, which is pretty much the goal of everyone on this site. I'd be careful... she could prolly kick your ass! :rotflmao:

hahaha agreed w/ matt & rob!

congrats girl! it looks like you weigh a lot less than 170 lbs! you look amazing! keep up the good work :)

You're beautiful! Truly great job. You lost it the right way and it shows, you look amazing :)

Congrats on losing 35 lbs since January!

I lost the first 30 by November of '08 through mostly changing up my nutrition drastically.

If you read my post, you'd see that I'm 5-10lbs to my FINAL goal... which is the HARDEST weight to lose, as most people know.

I have had knee surgeries and was having some weird health issues last year, so I took my time getting back into REALLY exercising hard.

Once I was cleared and given the okay to go ape shit with fitness... I did!

I lost an additional 10 lbs of "weight" and god knows how much fat I've burned vs. how much muscle I've gained.

I don't "cheat" either. I don't believe in "cheating." I eat what I want, when I want it. I'm proud to say that I prefer fruit for dessert over a piece of red velvet now. I changed my lifestyle... I didn't DIET. But if I DO have that craving for red velvet, I'll get it with a girlfriend or two, split it and that's that.

Good for your dad. I'm sure he's telling you the healthy way to do everything.

I run about 11 miles a week, do 1-3 spin classes a week, and strength train 3 days a week.

I don't know what else to tell ya, other than Good Luck!

@kimmy.j: Thank you, love!

@SyNyStEr14: I feel like I'm battling frustration more than the weight! No one said it'd be easy though, right? haha

@yessican: What's amazing is that I'm back to where I was 7 years ago. I always looked like this in my head... Denial does incredible things, doesn't it?!

Wow you look awesome!! Great job - and love those arms on you now. You certainly do not like you are 170. I would have guessed much smaller!! Keep up the hard work.
