Week is going pretty well. Yesterday the snow in town was terrible, so I ended up working from home. It was great because it was so easy to watch my calories, make home cooked meals, and take my walk around lunch time, followed by a great sammich and a nap. Took another nap around 5:00. One thing I've noticed over the years is that when I start working out again, it's very difficult because after my workouts I get very nappy. I hibernate. But then afterwards, my stamina grows by leaps and bounds. I like to think it's my body saying, "we've noticed you're doing more - shut down for a few hours so we can manufacture a ton of red blood cells please".
My lung function has improved greatly. It's like there's a third lung now, down where my diaphragm used to be squeezed into a tiny space by the rest of my abdomen. I can breathe, talk and walk a bit, etc. But there's still so much more to go. But nice to feel the effect, even from just a week or two of regular exercise and abundant hydration.
Have heard nothing else from crazy ex-girlfriend down south. She's living with another man anyway, so what the hell, leave her to her own devices until she's not a hot mess. I'm worth more anyway.
My first real test comes this Friday. Poker night at my house. Poker night was usually a lot of drinking, smoking, pizza eating, etc. A real gluttonous fest. My Pact, however, won't let my drink until my weight starts with a 1 i.e. 199 or lower. This is the first real test of The Pact. Luckily my Muslim friend will be with me, so we can not drink alkyhol together, and smoke weed and cigars instead, drinking water/tea instead of beer, and I'll try to watch it on food. Small changes, consistently applied, move mountains. I'll check in as we get down to the wire.
Did my "work walk" just now, half mile around building. Will do "After work" walk later, my half hour, ~1.4 mile walk. Calorie intake at ~2350 per day.
