Here I go again

okay so I decided to upload my pics after one month. I can see a slight difference.. it gives me motivation to keep going! "**WARNING** stretch mark alert! :conehead:

**My starting pics are on the first page of my diary - this is one month's progress.**

You look great! I really see a difference on the stomach. I can't believe it's been a month already?! We started about the same time.

I haven't measured anything but my waist, but so far I've lost the same as you (about 13 lbs) and 1 1/2'' on my waist. I feel terrible though because I had some nasty chinese food today, I split it up some for lunch some for dinner, I'll do better tomorrow.

Let's keep going!

Thanks Kevin!! Yes, I know a month already! That's so great that we're at about the same pace too :)

Well, I wouldn't beat yourself up over having Chinese one day. We're all going to have days like that.. just this Friday I had cheese fries! Probably one of the worst things I could have had, but I just made up for it the next day and ate a better. It's hard y'know because it's a complete lifestyle change... we're all going to have days when we feel we've messed up- but I think as long as we can get on a better path the next day we'll be OK.

Oops forgot to write my menu for today!!

Sunday:

Breakfast- okay I didn't have breakfast... 2 cups of coffee- 120 calories

Lunch: egg sandwich (1 egg, 1 slice fat free cheese, 2 slices of bread) , 1/2 apple, skim milk, vitamins - 375 calories

Dinner: Ham sandwich on white bread w/ mustard - skim milk w/ low-fat chocolate milk, 2 strawberries - 360 calories

2 more cups of coffee - 120 calories

calories 975.. yes I KNOW it's low.. but I'm stuffed. *I ended up eating a slim fast bar before bed - 110 calories - bringing my cals up to 1085

Also for the record. I don't enjoy posting my pics at this point.. but it does give me motivation to keep going. Last time I never took pics and I didn't take measurements at all, I just weighed myself. This time I want to actually see my progress. I like this forum. :)

Eat breakfast! your body is starved after you sleep for so long...breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
:p

yeah I know but every now and then I just have no appetite until the afternoon.. not sure why.. one day last week I forced myself to eat breakfast and almost puked.

That is how I feel all the time. I'm never hungry until at least 11am, and sometimes if I try and force myself to eat breakfast, I end up throwing it up because it just doesn't settle in and digest at all.

Today's menu:

Breakfast/lunch: egg sandwich (1 egg, 1 slice fat free cheese, 2 slices of bread) , 3 strawberries, skim milk/low-fat chocolate milk, vitamins - 420calories

snack: Yoplait yogurt - 110

Dinner: McDonald's cheeseburger happy meal w/ fries/diet coke - 550 calories

2 cups of coffee - 120 cals

Total so far: 1200 calories..

I will most likely be eating something else maybe a fruit .. I don't know

I'm impressed. McDonalds and you were still at a good calorie count

McDonalds...part of a calorie controlled diet...who knew. Ick, just thinking about a Mcd's cheeseburger makes me feel dirty and used...lol!

I know the weird thing is I really don't like McDonald's.. I NEVER eat there! Once every couple of weeks I get the kids a happy meal and a meal for my husband.. if I eat out, it's usually subway 6" BLT. But I just got a weird craving for a happy meal, and I can't explain it. I don't feel so good right now though...

Okay.. so I totally messed up tonight, like, big time. Well around 9 I went to Walmart to return 2 pant sets I got for my son, they didn't fit him right, and I figured maybe instead, I should get him some shorts since school starts this Wed., and it's still very humid here. All his summer shorts are too tight on him now.. so I returned those and found all the shorts his size marked down to $2 and $1.. AWESOME! So I grabbed a bunch, a couple sleeveless shirts (he always gets overheated and has only 2 sleeveless shirts), those were also marked down to $1.. I got great deals.. On my way out I realized I needed fat free cream, so I went over there and passed by the candy aisle. I suddenly got this urge for chocolate, like an overwhelming urge.. I looked around, trying to find something chocolate low in calories LOL yeah, right! I had to have Riesen's.. 4 of these have 170 calories.. so I told myself I'd get them and have a couple, which would still be OK.
Well, I got in the car and devoured them- okay I had 12 So that would be 510 calories in addition to the 1200 today, which brings me up to 1710, plus I ate some frosting off a piece of cake I got for my son, no idea in that.. I'm just really pissed off at myself. Why did I do this? First, McDonald's which I despise, now chocolate.. I HAVE to be getting my period. There is just no other explanation- curse my husband getting fixed, otherwise I'd be keeping track of dates lol.. anyway, I didn't exercise today either, my entire body is sore head to toe and I have a cough. BLAH!

And.. I never did get the fat free cream, which means the coffee I'm currently drinking has skim milk, which is just gross....

Hey sweetie - I suspect that the reason you're having these cravings you can't control is because your overall daily diet is pretty bad. :) Sorry, don't mean to be too blunt, but you're carb loading a lot on your "regular" days and not getting nearly enough protein or other nutrients. While you will lose weight like that, ultimately you're going to have more and more of these "craving" periods where you eat far more than you intended to.

Eating a more balanced diet on a regular basis can really really help with those cravings. :)

Well, just as I suspected, I woke up with my monthly friend.. I knew the way I was feeling with my bad mood since last Friday and my odd food cravings last night- I just know myself enough after 39 years to know something's up! lol... The only times I have odd cravings are either the day before my period or when I'm pregnant, and I know I'm not pregnant..

I had a super busy morning planned today, with the kids starting school tomorrow, I had a bunch of last minute things to do. My youngest son needed a haircut, which is never pleasant, he has Autism and haircuts are never fun for him. But today he did very well, he just sat still and smiled... and he no longer looks like the Hulk! :) Then I went over to Sears and got them a new pair of sneakers- Then I went to pick up some fat free cream that I forgot to get last night, I mailed out a couple of b-day cards to relatives, had to return a video game, and came home and did some housework.

Here's today's menu so far:

Breakfast: a pear - 80 calories

Lunch: egg sandwich (egg made w/ skim milk, 1 slice fat free cheese, 2 slices white bread), low-fat chocolate milk with skim milk, vitamins. 415 calories

just a question...why do you put skim milk in your egg? does it cook different if you do that? Just wondering, I'm not an egg person so I'm always perplexed by that when you put it in your diary.

I dunno about CW, but I always add a little liquid to my scrambled eggs because the steam from the liquid helps make them puffy and light. Milk helps add some creaminess to the flavor - and when I'm feeling decadent, whole cream makes for really amazing yummy, rich eggs. But even a little water will make them puff up a bit.

hmm honestly I never thought about it. lol.. Well, what I mean is, that's how I learned to cook scrambled eggs, scrambled with milk- and so, I use skim milk.. I have used water before, but I prefer milk. I never tried scrambling just the egg though with nothing else. Now I'm wondering what the difference is ..

Kara....

I know.. I've always been a high carb person. I'm trying to make a lifestyle change and it's just extremely hard for me. In comparison to what I ate from January this year to July, this is a HUGE improvement, seeing as I was living off ice cream sundaes as my meals for the day, and as far as fruits or veggies.. I had maybe one or 2 from Jan-July.

I'm hoping the cravings don't get more regular or I know I won't succeed long term. I'm trying to get in fruit and protein at breakfast most days, and I try to eat a veggie as much as I can, although it's not as often as it should be. The weird thing about it is that I love veggies..

The other thing is that I'm such a picky eater- there are healthy things I like but it's still hard for me to have certain things in the house.. for example, I like walnuts and almonds, but I can't just have a handfull.. I'll eat the entire bag- unless I can get someone to hide them from me, which doesn't seem normal, y'know? I should know not to eat more. Anyway, hopefully in time I'll be able to get a better diet going. :/

UGh, and I have some cream in my fridge. I will not do this. I will not do this. I will not do this. I will not do this.....
