an answer to your question.

how did i get up you ask? I took myself seriously. I am more important than my job. I am the most important thing in my life, and i said that this year, I come first. If i can wake up every morning to go to work, especially on days i don't want to, then why can't i get up for myself? It made no sense to me, so i took the necessary steps to insure I came first. I love hanging with friends, but hey, i am on an agenda, and right now they don't fit in as much. i need to be in bed by ten to be up by 5. so i don't want to hang out late. i get home, relax and sleep. i just treat myself. friends are for the weekend. just like it was as an adolescent in school. you play with your friends on the weekends. during the week its, school homework, dinner a little relax time and bed. SO, i mean it is what it is. I make sure the first i do in the morning is for my benefit, before anyone and anything else. I am on flex time at my job, so even if i over sleep, i still go to the gym before i go to work. waiting after work is bad for me because i am mentally drained... but like i said now its habit. i just get up and go. I hope this helped you... but i am sure you will be fine on your own.
 
Hey girl! Thanks for stopping by the diary! Yeah, I noticed that you don't have as much people as first and yes, my diary is a little empty. But that's ok, I'm meeting some awesome people already! I actually went from a small B to a small D. They are still really swollen right now so they look really HUGE. I can't wait to fit into shirts and look better and I'm definiately more proportinate! I need to post some pics soon!
 
Hello all! TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:party: Its been a long week... what can i say! haha.

Well a little update. Last evening i needed to work out desperately. I was moody and miserable all day ( as you all got to read) and was just feeling really down on myself. I went to the gym and first and foremost, did a nice long stretch with my ear buds in and just some nice chill Jack Johnson music
( side note: OMG. looooove jack johnson) Anyways, stretched real good and then did my crunches, side bends, ab work etc. Then i got on the Cybex machine and did 20 minutes of strength training cardio, and then i changed to the treadmill and did 40 minutes of alternating between 4.0 speed, 5.3 speed, and 6.2 speed. After that i did incline leg presses ( due to me working on my nasty backof the leg syndrome) and other leg weights.

It felt really really good though to have a nice solid work out after the rough week. The running felt amazing.... and i left feeling great about myself. I decided i am not going to weigh myself again until next thursday. I need to just focus on eating right and cardio and hopefully i will be plesantly surprised next week when i weigh in. This everyday stuff is too much for me. I get in a funk if the weight goes up... not motivated like some others do.

I think my fear is that i am going to be stuck here and not get any further. My one good friend who is a health phanatic said that you normally do plateau every 10-12 lbs. is this true? if so i may be able to hang in there lol


For dinner, i had a can of green beans wth garlic salt on them, and a ham sandwich on light wheat bread. Shortly after that though i was hungry and needed to have some whole wheat pasta with turkey burger and tomato sauce. Typically my original dinner would have been fine but i think because my breakfast and lunch were soooo light, my body just needed more calories.... esp after the long workout yesterday.


oh, and i drank a TON of water yesterday :)

Hi M_Marie - I've read a little through your post maily the latter part, I noticed than in you excersises you mention that you do a cardio workout? While this is all good, a cardio workout doesn't really make you lose weight, it works your heart rate, and makes you fitter.

If you want really want to concentrate on weight loss, you MUST perform FAT burning excersises, this can be running too - everyone has fat burning zones, its is measured by your heart rate, i could give you the formula, but it might confuse you.

If you type in 'fat burning zones' in the search engine, one of the sites will have calculator to work out what your fat burning zone is, everyones is different so it's important you know what yours is.

Remmember removing fat from your body is going to make you weigh less...right?

So i would really start to concentrate on the fat burning stage - if you do it right, your weight will drop off no problem -

How often are you off to the gym? Have you ever tried spinning? or aerobics, these are the excersises which will be effective for fat burning.

Doesn't make you lose weight?

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say. If cardio helps expend the energy (calories) required to put you in an energetic deficit... it helps you lose weight.

This is entirely bogus. What qualifies you to give advice? I only ask b/c I care about the well being and progress of our members here and it's evident you are not current with regards to your research.

I wonder if you know that during rest is when most of the fuel used is fat. So with your flawed logic, we should simply rest to lose weight. As I noted before, net caloric cost is what matters... not fuel substrate.

Good Morning all! :waving:
Last evening i went to the gym with a friend from work and i worked my butt off yet again. I have been seeing that my ability to hang in there and keep up a faster pace on the tread mill is increasing... not so out of breath like i use to be.....:ack2:

This morning i got up early and did a light work out, just 30 minutes on the cybe3x machine. I was doing hill interval training level 10 and let me tell you... i feel it in my butt!!! :) then i just did some abdominal work and some pull ups ( weight assisted of course)

Last evening i went to TGI fridays with my hunnie. I ordred the sizzling chicken and shrimp platter. I said NO BUTTER!!!! and don't put the melted 3 kinds of cheese on there!!

so it was really really tender chicken breast, some shrimp with tomato picodegallo ( sp) and steamed broccoli.


I treated myself to a coors light... but only drank half of it. I was happy with that meal i chose :)

today after my work out we went to a new coffee shop down the road. i have a smoothie. OMG. it was a smoothie like none other. they add no milk and no extra stuff... just the ice and the fruit! 3 servings of fruit in those 16oz suckers!!!! sooo good :):drool5:

Girl let me tell you... I love my Pico de gallo.. I make that with all the orginal stuff and I add mangos and avacodos.. YUMMY!!!

And good for deciding not to weigh yourself everyday. I think you will be more surprised when you get that once a week. Well, you have a great day and stay Positive.. And dont for get that WATER :)

For some reason when I'm browsing the menu I always forget that I can them to prepare the meal without some of the more high-caloric additions. I really need to keep that in mind.

Dinner- Saurkraut with a little pork. NO MASHED POTATOS.

and then a skinny latte for snack.


yikes. Good thing im getting up early to work out hahahahaha.


One down day wont kill me... but this needs to not be a habit!!!!!


ps- trust me i get on here tonight and see all the congrats on my great eating last night..... OH MAN. GUILT GUILT GUILT hehe

Alright so a recap of my weekend. Friday and Saturday both I had amazing work outs and was able to get my burn on. Sunday I decided I would relax a bit and take the day off. Spend the day yesterday just getting some stuff done around the house. Cant say that I did tooooo much productive. I did get some more fish for my aquarium. I have a 47 gallon bow front tank so that’s always fun to play with. I have African cichlids.
Made tacos at home for dinner… not the best meal… but moderation is the key and I certainly did not eat a lot of it so im good.
Gotta get back on the water today… slacked a bit this weekend.
Kureransu: yes I am back. I am sorry for neglecting you… but I have already been to your page this morning and partied it up with you about being in the 200’s!!!! ? Also….. im scared to get on the scale lol. I have made a small pact with myself that I will not step on that scale until THURSDAY. Im sticking to it too!!!!!

Also read some article this morning about 10 reasons to work out in the AM. SO…. Last night I had my bag packed to shower at the gym….. I had EVERYTHING packed, laid out, ready to go so I could just roll out of bed and GET TO IT!!!!!

Yeah… alarm went off and guess what…. I set it for another hour to sleep! Now, in all fairness, my bf and I were kind of having it out last night ( not fighting… just serious convo) and I didn’t get sleep like I normally do. SO I was pooped… arguing sure takes the wind out of your sails. BUT. Tomorrow morning it is on. HOLD ME TO IT.

Ill work out tonight like normal… but then… ITS ON LIKE DONKE Y KONG! Mark my words ladies and gents!!! ?

well HelllLLLLLLLLLOOOOO there! I have some news to report back to you all today.
1) Last night i busted my ass at the gym. I started out on the bike and i rode for 30 min on the interval hill setting. Then i got on the treadmill and ran/walked for 30 min. I picked up the pace a bit on there and ran at 5.6 rather than 5.3 And i did it with more ease than i anticipated :coolgleamA:
after that i did the 30 min circut weights, crunches, and called it a night. Ill tell you what though... i was POURING the sweat!!!

2) I did NOT get up this morning and go to the gym

I got up..... felt sore from last night.... and went back to bed.:dupe:

GOD WHAT IS MY ISSUE WITH THE MORNING!!!!!!?!?!?!:banghead:

3) I also weighed myself last night like i swore i WOULDNT......

boy am i glad i did! I lost 2 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think i am OFF THE gosh darn plateau!!!!!
WHOOO HOO. Thus marking my lowest weight in 3 years!!!!!!!! wow... it feels great. I really thought it would have gone up from my mexican fiesta eating on sat... but good news.... thats now 12 lbs lost since Feb 1

So for dinner last night
I had a smoothie. Again, they are amazing.... but let me tell you. I felt like SUCH a dweeb asking the young girl at the counter if i could read the nutrition facts ont he protein powder before i ordered. Lol.. their protein is good shit too! only 50 cal, 10g protein, no sugar added!!!

so i had a strawberry banana protein shake ( ice, fruit, protein powder) and a can of greenbeans with a little garlic salt on top.


YUM.


how are all my peeps? whats new with yaaaaaaaa

Dang has it been that long since Ive been in here? Wow...Sorry bout that. Anyway hope you are coming out of your doldrums (I have no idea if I spelled doldrums right and Im not takin time to look it up) I am in the process of getting refocused myself. I have been stalled for 3 weeks and Im gonna have a shake up this week to break on though to the other side (appologies to the doors).

no mornings?, no problem!

well after such a intense workout the night before, i can understand sleeping it. that would have been a bit much for your body, so no venting from me.....today:toetap05:. You can do the mornings, just work your way into it . its not easy, you have to train your body to do it. You'll get there and have crazy energy in the moring feeling good about yourself and what not. i'll look forward to those days, but i can live with intense night workouts from you will all the energy your are pouring in. I say if is isn't broke, then don't fix it! right! but i still recommend mornings, just from experience. For me, its like the day starts after i workout and i feel brand new, and like i got a head start on the day, one day you'll be able to share that feeling and we'll party! but it hurts on the weekend when you want to hang late and are dead tired... but as time passes and the weight comes off, i can get a little easier on the workouts and maybe not do 6 days a week, maybe just five and i can rest and extra day to prepare for wild weekends!


Anyway congrats on the 2 lbs. i don't care what anyone says, 2 lbs is huge and you should be effing proud off it. that is 7000 calories you dropped off! keep it up. yeah! oh and strawberry banana smoothies are probably the best smoothies ever creative. i wish i was raised on those....
