Here comes the bride...6 months to go!!

Hey Lisa!!!

You must be so exited about getting the dress to be altered it's all comming together!!! If you decide to buy high heel shoes for the wedding I suggest you pick up a pair of cute flats to go along (I didn't and my feet where in pain for days after my wedding lol!!!) Have fun Shopping!!!!

I'll add to what Verobc said and suggest slippers. I found a nice pair of white satin slippers at Herberger's and got those. I wore my bridal shoes through the ceramony and the reception, but by the dance my feet were killing me. I was more than happy to change into them and since my dress was floor lenth anyway, no one even knew.

And yes, you should have your shoes before you get your dress altered since that will change how tall you are and thus, how long the dress is. Be sure to bring any and all things you will wear under your dress as well.

I'm glad yesterday turned out good for you! I hope weigh in goes well but if not, I know you'll get it off in no time! Have fun shopping for your shoes :) Chat tomorrow!

I just knew you would have a good day yesterday. Good luck on the weigh-in. I've decided that mine will be on Fridays too (got the idea from you, actually). Like Sarah said, it will be fine. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi Lisa, I'm glad your feeling better and you did great yesterday! I knew you would turn your week around and finish strong. I love that no matter what you always get up and dust yourself off and keep going. Your truely inspiring to me. I am so excited about your wedding shoes, you have to post a pic of them when you get a chance. I am looking forward to our morning workout tomorrow and I hope we can finish this month strong and start June off kicking butt and doing it allll month long, June needs to be our month of hard work and great results. I hope your day was great!

Howdy! You are just fabulous...I can't get enough!
I hope that this will be the start of a fantastic weekend for you.
May is coming to an end and I hope that you can look back on this month as a highly successful one.
Bring on June Baby!

Thanks Veronique - it does feel like it's all starting to come together but I still have lots of planning to do and appointments to make. I need to make myself lists so I don't forget anything last minute.

Thanks Mizzie - I really like the slipper idea because I know I won't be able to wear heels all night!

Thanks Sarah - I think going for the weigh-in and being up will really motivate me to work hard next week. I think I worked hard with my workouts this week but my eating was crap. We didn't get groceries Monday like we usually do and I think that had something to do with it too. Oh well it was a long weekend and my track record with those is not great - I'll just have to make the next one better!

Thanks Juni - you will need to cross your toes too!!

Thanks Janvier - I love going into the weekend feeling great and if I wouldn't have got back on track I'd still feel puffy and bloated and would probably still have a tummy ache!!
June will be the month we see great results! I was also looking forward to my morning workout! It was easier to get up knowing you were too!

Thank you so much! I feel the best I have in a long time and I know my hard work this month made all the difference - I hope to try even harder in June and meet my goals! I'm bound and determined!!

Ok so yesterday was finally a perfect day! I did as much damage control as I could and am feeling 100% again! I really want to have a good loss next week so I am determined to try my best. Here's how it looked:
B - ff activia yogurt, 1/3 cup all bran buds & 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
L - big veggie salad - snap peas, orange pepper, carrots w ff dressing
Snack - mint green tea
D - split Moxie's grilled chicken with pineapple salsa with my mom - it came with 2 5 oz chicken breasts and rice pilaf and seasonal veggies - we were being so good we asked for no rice and extra veggies. It came with asperagus, grilled red pepper and brocolli. It wasn't very filling but just enough and really tasty!
Exercise - 1 hr Kettle Bell circuit class. I really had to talk myself into going after shopping I was pretty tired.
Snack - WW chocolate protein shake, 1 cherry (just for a taste before bed)
Woke up this morning and did 25 min treadmill (2 miles, 275 cal burned) and a really good long stretch because I'm pretty sore from Kettle Bell. I went to three 1 hr Kettle Bell classes this week! I'm so proud of myself for actually getting the strength training in I planned. I feel myself getting stronger each class. I can almost use the 26 lb bell for all the one armed moves and think I'm almost ready to move to the black bell for the two armed swings - not sure how heavy it is but most of the guys in the class use it for everything so I'm assuming it's pretty heavy.
I didn't find any shoes shopping yesterday - our tiny little mall just has no selection. I found an ok pair in Aldo but they were $70 and I couldn't justify the price. I'm going to look in the bridal stores this weekend and hope to find something or I might need to take another trip to Duluth.
We made a bunch of appointments for the wedding and I'm getting more and more excited. I need to start making lists so I feel more organized. I did find a flower girl dress at Zellers for $30 and it's so sweet - I just hope our niece acts as sweet as she looks - she can be such a trouble maker and I really didnt' want a flower girl but my hunnie's mom insisted and I felt bad because she was really excited and showing me how she's going to walk down the aisle.
Tonight I am going out with a girlfriend and a bunch of her friends from her work. We are going to a bar but I only plan to have one or two and drive home later because I want to sleep at home and really want to go to Kettle Bell tomorrow. Plus I have a bunch of running around to do with my mom for the wedding tomorrow and she hates it when I'm hung over so I don't want to risk it. I'm so jealous of my friends work because she gets to work with like 20 girls around her age and I don't even see another female most of the time. When I lived in Calgary and worked for the same company it was totally different and there were like 60 people my age on the same floor - we always went out for drinks after work or sat and had lunch together and it was so much more fun. It was my choice to move back though and I wouldn't have been able to afford a house there ever!
I don't really have any other plans for the weekend but I hope to get a 10km run in since it's been so long and I really feel like I need to up my running efforts if I plan to run that half marathon in September.
I'm feeling great today - probably mostly because it's Friday and I love Fridays!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!! Chat with you Monday!

Wow you had a great day yesterday!!! Shopping for bridal shoes is hard cause they are so damn expensive...I had almost bought a pair of cheap thong they where silver with "diamonds " all over and they where like 10$ but I wanted heels lol with my dress I could have worn running shoes no one would have known!

I tried to tell my mom that because I found some cheaper ones but she didn't like them - I told her she won't even see them but she insists she will. I also told her I want flats or slippers for dancing and she got so mad saying I can't dance with my dad in flats but I meant later in the evening and she just didn't get it.

Darn I was up 0.2 pounds but really I thought it was going to be worse. I'm ready to start kicking butt for next weekend. My hunnie called and asked if I wanted to go to an Italian buffet for lunch and I said no I brought salad - and that was really had to say so I think I'm headed in the right direction for the weekend!
I am going to make a committment to myself to not have any butter tarts this weekend - they have been my down fall lately and they sell them at our corner store in packs of 6 so I usually end up having 4 and hunnie has 2. There are over 500 calories in each one and way too much sugar so if I can cut that 2000 calories out I'll be closer to a pound down come next Friday! i'm ready for the challenge!
Wish it was 4pm already so I could be at the gym - I feel like running but it's already so hot outside. Hopefully the air conditioning will be pumping at the gym.

Good for you! When you have a tough week 0.2 up is a relief, at least for me. I love your diary, you are so positive. Cutting out those butter tarts sounds like a good challenge. Keep going!

What a great day yesterday Lisa! You rocked it! Great choice with your meal at Moxies, picking healthy food at a restaurant when your looking at all of the yummy unhealthy things on the menu is one of the hardest things for me. Good for you for pushing yourself to go to kettle bell after shopping, I love how determined you are and class really improving your strength if you are almost ready to move on from your 26 lb bell. Your arms are going to look amazing for your wedding.

Hey I was wondering if that girl you met ever came back to class.

I'm sorry you didn't have much luck with your shoes last night, hopefully the bridal stores will have something you like...but I get the feeling that they may be over-priced.

I know it sucks to not have anyone your age at work, Its pretty much the same at my work, everyone could be my mother...but at the same time it gives you a chance to really focus on yourself to get ready for your wedding, I'm still hoping you meet a great gym friend.

I hope you have a wonderful, healthy weekend full of healthy food and excersice. Hopefully the weather stays nice for you to do you 10k.

Thank you so much and thank you for stopping by and posting! It's great to have new visitors - I'll be sure to look up your diary too!

Thanks Janvier! Honestly if I didn't have my weigh-in I don't think my meal choice would have been as good. I really enjoy the oriental chicken salad from there and I know it sounds healthy but it's really not. I was glad my mom wanted to be healthy too because it's so much harder when you see someone else picking a bad option.
That girl hasn't come back yet however it was a Monday class I met her at and since it was a holiday this past Monday the class was cancelled. I'm hoping to see her this Monday though. I told her about Saturday classes but when I told her they start at 10am the look on her face told me I'd never see her there. I tried talking to another girl in last night's class but I could tell she wasn't really into it so I left it at that. Oh well I'm hoping after seeing my girlfriend tonight that got me to join this new gym I can convince her to start coming again. It's worth a try.

Those butter tarts sounds soooo yummy. I wouldn't have been able to resist them either. But 500 cal in one--that's carzy. Wonder what they are packed with, eh? Nothing good, I'm sure, but would be interesting to know.

This week is gone, Lisa. You will have another perfect week next week. Just you wait.

Have a wonderful weekend of good food, exercise, lots of water and exercise. Talk to you on Monday!

Congrats on your perfect day!! Good job!
Thanks MJ - hopefully next week I can have more than 1!

It's just melted butter and sugar in a delicious home made pastry cup - and not a little cup - it's probably 1/2 cup of filling - just melted butter and sugar, lol - soooo bad!! I'm asking the store next week if they will make them for my wedding because I don't want to do a cake and would love one or two on my big day! If they say yes I'm going to try my hardest to not have another one till then! Most people say they are too sweet but nothing is too sweet for me!! Thanks for stopping by Juni - you have a great weekend too!!

Mmmm butter tarts.... lol I have a weakness for junk... especially things like cake, I got some little cakes at the asian market that I love... 500 calories in one of those little suckers! GAH, and I just had to have 2, a 4 panda cookies, which are like the size of a cruton and filled with chocolate and 20 calories each! HA... stupid junkfood. I ended up getting some skinny cow ice cream sandwhiches.... very good and only 140 calories, 2 weight watcher points, if you have not had them you should get some for when a sweet tooth sets in! Anyway, I know you are going to do great this next week, keep it up!

Hey! Thats awesome you started thsoe kettle bell classes! I'm sure you'll be feeling the burn with those :) You've done a great job continuing to challenge yourself! I think it helps keep the body unsure of whats happening, and prepared for change. That could just all be in my head though haha.

Have fun tonight at the bar! Do you get monday off for memorial day? If so have a nice pool day!

Hey Lisa!! Awesome work on the perfect day- I know you can have another one!!

Urgh I'm terrible shoe shopping at the best of times... when I went shopping for my wedding shoes I thought it was going to be the hardest thing EVER cuz my dress was like a smokey silvery pearly colour... I actually found the shoes in one trip and they were a perfect colour match and I just got them at the shopping center around the corner. If you're looking for cheaper shoes though I think you'll find that specific bridal shoes are going to be WAAAY expensive- anything with the word 'wedding' slapped on it is easily twice the price as it would be otherwise!!!

Also thought the butter tarts for the wedding is SUCH a cute idea!!!

Thanks for the idea - the problem with me is even if they are healthier or better for me if I have them in the house I'll eat like 2 or 3 at once because I know they are less cal. I just can't stop at 1 so I just don't buy them. When I am being bad on weekends though I should buy them and just make sure they are gone before Monday!

Thanks Andy - I agree we have to keep the body guessing! No Memorial day for me - in Canada we had our long weekend last weekend - thankfully too because it's Monday and I'm now ready to kick butt!!

Unfortunately I didn't have a choice for the shoes - I found some at the bridal shop - they had a huge selection and I found a pair I will want to wear again but they were $70 plus tax so more than I was hoping to spend but I'm just glad to scratch another thing off the list.
The more I think about the butter tart idea the more I like it - instead of feeding eachother cake we can feed eachother tarts! Now I just hope the shop will be able to make me 150 of them!

Ok so the weekend is over and although it wasn't horrible it wasn't great! It was tons of fun though so I have no regrets! I stuck to my promise to myself and didn't have a single tart! We went into the store a couple times too and they were there staring at me but I stayed strong! Hunnie was really impressed! Here's how it went down:
Friday - did the treadmill before work (25 min, 2 miles), ate healthy all day, went to the gym after work and ran 3.2 miles in 35 min including my warm up and cool down and then attended a 30 min core class - lots of planks and BOSU stuff. Went home and got ready for my night out with the girls. Went to a bbq and had a cheese sausage and some asian salad. Drank a bottle of white wine and then went to the bar. Had about 4 rye and waters and 1 shot of Tequila. Hunnie picked me up at 1am and we went throught the McD's drive thru - I got two cheese burgers :reddevil: Yes I could have done without those but I didn't get fries - hahah doesn't really make it much better!

Saturday - woke up at 9am with a headache and drank 4 20oz bottles of water and took 2 advil and got ready for Kettle Bell. Yes I actually made it to Kettle Bell after drinking all night!!! The old me would have slept in bed till noon and then woke up and made greasy food! Kettle Bell was intense too!! We did a 10 min warm up and ran some sprints followed by 10 min of one armed swings, 10 min dead man lift squats, 10 min snatches swithcing arms and 10 min burpees with one armed swings, 10 min abs and stretch! I almost slipped a couple times during the burpees because there was a huge pool of sweat on the ground in front of me - probably some booze in there too!!!
Showered and met my mom to get my dress altered. I've decided to take the train off the dress and just make it the same all the way around. I don't like the idea of the bustle and since I'm getting married on a dock by the water I don't feel like I will wear it down at all so I think it will be more flattering this way. I'm also getting them to make a sweat heart dip in the front which I really think is more flattering on me. I'm just getting so excited about it!
Also found some shoes which cost more than I wanted to spend but at least I will wear them again because they are just strappy white ones. After shopping I went home and had to clean the house because we decided to invite friends over for a bbq. Cleaned for about two hours and then started on dinner. We made our last bag of ground deer meat into burgers and I made a big spinach salad. Again I started on the drinks. I didn't even have time for a nap! We went to a friend's shag and I had about 15 rye & waters and a couple jello shooters. It was lots of fun and we danced a lot! I was also on my feet all night - didn't sit once from 8pm - 1am. didn't have any of the pizza they put out and warmed up a sausage when I got home and then went to bed.
Sunday - didn't get out of bed till just after noon. I was beat. Ate really bad all day - heated up another sausage for lunch and had some chips hunnie bought at the store. Went to my parents for dinner and mom had made a huge roast dinner with rhubard cake for dessert and was sure to send all the left overs home with us! We went to a family friends house after dinner who is going to play the piano during the ceremony at the lake. She started playing a song she liked for me to walk down the aisle to and I started crying as soon as I heard the first few notes - I looked over at my mom and she was tearing up too! hunnie was laughing at us. I don't know how I'm going to hold it together that day!! Went home ate more chips and went to bed and just crashed!
But I woke up this morning and did 30 minutes on the treadmill!! 2.55 miles and 335 cals burnt to start the day!! I'm feeling great about having an awesome week!! We also went grocery shopping yesterday and stocked up on all kinds of healthy lunch and dinner stuff! I'm soooo puffy today though and couldn't get my engagement ring off if I tried!! Lots of water and green tea to flush it all out! I'm also packed for Kettle Bell tonight and hope to see Kaitlin the girl I met a couple weeks ago there.
When I was at the shag this girl came up to me and asked if I live in the same community as her and I said yes and then she pointed at two other friends and said "we knew it, your the runner!" "we see you running and your looking so good!" It was a huge compliment and I felt so good - I really haven't been out running much since we got the treadmill but for them to notice me looking better was a huge ego boost!! Makes me want to start running everyday again! I'm going to start going outside in the morning before work but it was frosty this morning and I chickened out.
I'm posting a couple pics from the weekend - I was so happy from all the booze and from feeling so good about my slimmer self!
