Hen Party Challenge!

Hi all!

This is the first entry to my diary. I used to be really quite skinny, but when I started university a mixture of fun fun fun and stress caused me to gradually put weight on over the years.

5 years on and I weight about a stone and a half more, and I feel awful! Being short means that I really notice the difference in my weight, and it's really knocked my confidence.

I have tried dieting (cutting out carbs in the evening, less sugar), however I always snapped and gorged.

I also had a personal trainer for a few months, and was very strict, but I missed sweet things too much so once again, snapped and gorged!

My main 'kick up the arse' this time is that I have my first hen do early October 2011, in the town I used to live. It's likely there are going to be lots of old faces there, and probably skimpy outfits :), so I want to feel and look fantastic!

So here are my starting stats!

Height - 5'1
Heaviest weight - 126 pounds
Current weight - 124 pounds
Desired weight (1) - 115 pounds

Currently on weight watchers diet & hoping to get to the gym at least 3 times a week!

Quick Update:

Last night I went to my favourite curry restaurant as it was mine and my boyfriends anniversary.

Normally this is a chance for us to completely stuff our faces! A normal meal would consist of:

(between us both)
1 Chicken curry
1 Pilau rice
1 keema naan
4 onion bhajis
1 chicken chat (practically another curry dish!)
Bottle wine between us
Pudding (ice cream sundae)

HOWEVER! Last night we were both very good, decided that we weren't going to gorge ourselves until we felt like we were going to pass out, and so had the following

(between us)
1 chicken curry
1 pilau rice
2 popadoms
1 keema naan
1 large glass of wine (for me!)

Hoorah! I left feeling full and satisfied, and realised I really didn't need anything else to eat. It was so fantastic to control that little voice in my head urging me or eat a big dessert.

Obviously I won't be eating out like this all the time, but as it was a special occasion I think I did pretty well :)

So far so good...! Sticking to weight watchers and finding it quite enjoyable actually :) I really need to get to grips with exercising though. I bought a Zumba game for the Wii to do when I can't face the gym, it's actually really fun!

Definitely off to the gym tomorrow anyway, got to get into the habit!

Better go now, Tesco food delivery (full of healthy treats) has just arrived. Yay!

Weigh in day tomorrow - oooo!

I'm hoping I am down to 122 by then (was 124 last Friday), fingers crossed.

I am really pleased with how I have been eating, I haven't been to the gym HALF as much as I had planned though :( Going to properly go for it next week though!

I've written up a gym routine though, which I think will really help. It's just forcing myself to go there after work that can be the problem.

If anyone is interested, tonights dinner felt like a real treat and was only 6 points!!

2 medallions of bacon
2 poached eggs
1 tomato
3 mushrooms
1 slice weight watchers sliced Danish brown bread

All of it grilled on the George Foreman - was delicious!!

Now fingers crossed for tomorrow :D
