Help straightening out a lower back/ hip issue

I need some help with ideas for strengthening my lower back and hip area. My left hip seems to catch when I attempt to rotate it, especially if my leg is raised, and something in my lower back pinches then cracks whenever I do legs lifts (but only on the left side when I'm lowering my legs or leg). I've been to a host of doctors and specialists, who cannot seem to find a problem (there is no leg length discrepency, I do not have any shifting, cracks or other injuries to my spine, and I seem to be otherwise healthy and more fit and flexible than average). So I want to find out if I can find a training regimen that will really strengthen my lower back and hip region to give it support and ease the problem. I would really be interested in anything else that would also increase balance between the sides of my body or possibly help in this situation. I'd be glad to hear any thoughts on the matter. Thanks!

I would suggest SMR for the areas you speak of. This can be with a foam roll, tennis ball, or lacrosse ball. It sounds as though the problem can be from the deeper muscles and fascia. You can just google foam roll or self myofascial release and you should get some good info.

I think it is smart you are looking to strengthen hip/pelvic area. The "core" includes this area, abdominal wall, and muscles of the lower back. I don't like throwing "cookie cut" regiments together. I do know websites like t-nation will do this and have pretty good instructions.

Sorry I'm being vague hopefully you will get more replies

Goodluck

Thanks

SMR looks like it might help, I'm going to add this to my routine and find out.:)
