help meh pls

i jus needed abit of help and sorry if i posted in wrong place

well the thing is i kickbox with my mate and what he does is jus swing punches at my face might hit me twice every 20 punches what i dont know is how to get him back.
if someone runs up u with swinging their fist ur first intention will be to keep ur guard up which i do but then he dont give me time to jab or hook

anyone know what i can do to overcome it cause im fighting him in a kickboxing championship?
thanks

Lemme get this straight..

you're kickboxing your friend, and he does nothing but strike to the face?

The solution seems easy... kick, or let him wear himself out then work him.

you should be able to keep him away. then use upper body strikes when you can

1 - you should ask your instructor.
2 - if you dont have one you shouldnt be fighting.

You gotta do the oposite of what he is doing, or the same but 1st.

1 - I him to it, if he is swinging, use straight punches.

2 - Use a wider, more front facing stance to give you better side to side motion, as he hooks with his right, shift your weight to your right leg, and sweep his strong leg with your left.

3 - Are you alowed to elbow? - make sure his glove gets caught under your arm and pull him in for an elbow strike, then sweep, or hook with the grabing side.

Are you point sparring? Because if so, it would explain the hesitancy to move in on someone making rapid repeditive attacks on the chance that they could superficially glance you and still be awarded a point. However, in my ignorance of the details of the situation, I would suggest kicking. Legs are longer than arms. It's practically impossible for someone to close distance to strike you in the face before you can kick them.

Or I dunno, do something creative. Turn and do an airborne mule kick and forward roll away. :p

No, he was probably doing something stupid with his friends in their garage or something. Little boys need their ego gratification.
