Help me shed pounds for road litter

Well, as expected I am slightly up this morning. It looks like it would be a good day to get our patrolling for road litter. However, I am stuck here waiting for the TV cable man to show up to figure out what is wrong with our system. I wish they could give one a more exact time they would show up. Oh well, I have plenty of computer work to do for a non-profit. What do you do when you are stuck at home waiting for some one to show up? :toetap05:

The TV cable repair man came early and I had some time to do some errands and got a little fly fishing in at Lake Minterwood. Not exactly a strenuous exercise but better than nothing. I had a light lunch and toco salad for supper. It gets dark a 5 pm now. Not a lot of daylight for evening outdoor activities. Do you think I should hit the gym?

My scale was not to happy with me today, up over a pound. Got a call from a friend to go fishing and was thrilled to do that. However, that meant I would not have any daylight for exercising while picking up road litter. A twelve year old also wanted to interview me for my volunteer work. So on my way home from fishing I arranged to meet him and his mother. The location of this meeting was close to the gym giving me little excuse for not getting my exercise for the day. I broke down and spent an hour at the gym. I suspect I will be a little sore in the morning. How long has it been since you went to a gym? :boxing: Why is there not smilie showing one exercising? :angelsad2:

Yesterdays activities must have helped some, I am down this morning. There is just a little more to go to reach my personal goal. When do you think I will make it?

I spent all day on the computer. The only exercise I got was constantly wiggling my toes and grinding my teeth while thinking. How much do you think that helps?

Today’s weight is up sharply, which sort of surprised me. However, I think it may have something to do with my trip to the gym, not weighing yesterday, and the fact I am a little sore from the workout. I have noticed this weight gain before when I get a little sore from a workout. The trick is just keep up the workout until the soreness goes away. That is what I did today and my wife also joined me. HURRAY for her?

I will say that this forum has helped me and I do recommend to anyone wishing to loose weight it is a good idea to keep a public exposed record of your activities. :waving:

This morning I was up another quarter pound. My hands were puffy and my arms sore from yesterdays workout at the gym. I think this is all water retention and not added fat. What do you think?

Spent some more time at the gym this afternoon as a large thunder storm is moving through the area. I hope I can patrol for road litter tomorrow as the weather forecast is more favorable and it is time to pick up one adopted road section. Anyone want to join me?

My weight is down this morning but my arms and shoulders are still very sore and my hands still feel puffy. It is not raining right now so may get out to patrol for road litter.

I spent 3 hours exercising and patrolling for road litter today in a very light ran. I picked up 5 bags of litter which was a little heavy because of the rain. When I got home my arms were extremely sore, mostly form the gym work the last 2 days. One more day to go and they should be getting better. Do you agree with that?

I am up a pound this morning. Well, I am experiencing something different. My arms are so sore I can not straiten them out. The exercise routine I did at the gym was fairly mild and something I have done many times without getting this sore. Yes, it has been several months since I did it, but this soreness seems way beyond what it should be. I exercised my legs the same way and they are not sore. What should I do?

OK, I am down ¾ of a pound this morning and my arms are feeling a little better. Checked in with WW and was right on target when I emptied all my pockets. The weather is not very good so may need to go to the gym again. Is anyone looking at these posts?

I did go to the gym yesterday and my weight is down this morning. My right are is still a little sore and will not fully straiten out but over all it is much better. The sun is out so I should be able to get some exercise picking up road litter. Do you think I will reach my goal this week? Why are you reading this? :seeya:

Today I picked up 6 bags of litter and walked about 4 miles. Three people beeped their car horn in support. I hope the scale will also give me some good news in the morning that I am closer to my personal weight goal.

I did not get out yesterday for exercise but my scale still met me with a little weight loss this morning. I did spend a lot of time running up and down stairs in our home doing office work. Just ¾ pound to go and I will once again hit my personal goal weight. When do you think I will do that?

I am neither up nor down this morning. I need to patrol a new section of road for litter today so I should get my exercise accomplished ok. I hope the weather cooperates. How are things where you are at?

My wife and I had an opportunity to pick up litter on a newly adopted road section today. We each go about 2 hours of exercise walking, reaching, twisting, bending over and holding up litter bags. After doing this for several hours, you know you have done something and will sleep better at night. Have you ever patrolled for litter?

The scale showed that I had lost only half the weight during the night that is normal. That is understandable as I got up 2 hours earlier than normal and had not taken any trips to the bathroom during the night. So I am up over a pound.

There reason for getting up earlier was to introduce a volunteer to a job at one of our local parks. He worked 8 hours and was exhausted at the end of the day.
I did get a little exercise working with him and showing him what to do but I really need more. Did you exercise today?

The salty smoked salmon, all the chocolate chip cookies, and a before bed snack I had yesterday succeeded in not allowing me to drop below my goal of 188 pounds. It felt good to celebrate reaching my goal once again. Now I get to do it one more time. I am up one pound this morning. Do you celebrate your achievements? :smilielol5:

Yesterday I was up another pound and had not exercised for 2 days. It was absolutely necessary that I do some sort of physical activity if I wanted to maintain my weight between 188 and 190. My choice was going to the gym or picking up road litter. The weather was uncertain with rain showers in the area. In spite of the rain threat I chose to pike up litter. It turned out to be a good choice. Some other person had recently picked up the area and I was able to walk at a brisk pace without stopping every few feet. I finished the chosen are just before it started to rain again and felt exhilarated by what I had accomplished. This morning I was down 1.5 pounds to 188.5. What sort of physical exercise turns you one?
