Help me shed pounds for road litter

As I expected, the macaroni and cheese is still with me. I am up 2.2 pounds this morning. The good news is I have 16 miles of road ditches that need patrolling for road litter by November 19th and the weather looks good today. So it is time to get at exercising doing this. .

Keep in mind that 2.2 pounds is a little over 7000 calories - so unless you actually ate nearly 10000 calories that day, it's unlikely that your whole gain is fat. It's most likely water retained from high sodium intake.

Drink lots of water and watch your sodium and you shoudl be able to shed most of that pretty quickly! :)

Water retention

you are absolutely correct. I am not worried about the water retention. It is actually burning the few calories I did intake is why I need to exercise more. :cheers2:

Today I got 4 hours of exercise picking up road litter. I covered a 2 mile stretch of road on both sides or 4+ miles of climbing in and out of the ditch to collect litter. One spends a lot of time reaching into bushes and bending over to grab an item. The litter bags can some time feel quite heavy. Would anyone care to calculate how many calories I burned today?

I slept well last night and this morning the scale tells me I am down one pound. This in spite the fact we finished of the macaroni and cheese which caused the water retention yesterday and probably today. Hopefully an ounce or 2 is loss of fat. I will continue to drink plenty of water.

Rain is forecast today so my exercise will probably exist of crushing cans and separating other recyclables from them.

For exercise I spent 1.5 hours crushing cans and separating recyclables that I picked up along the road. That turns out to be about 21 pounds of aluminum. How many calories did that burn?

The weight scale greeted me with good news this morning, down :jump: 1.2 pounds. Now I need to figure out how I will get my exercise today. It is a little wet out side right now. I may need to go to the gym.

I have been busy all day with office chores and did not get out exercising at all. I suspect the scale will not be pleased with that in the morning. I did make some progress in strengthening my support system and feel good about that. :waving:

As suspected I was up 1.2 pounds this morning. However, I am down one pound for the week. If I can do that for three more weeks I will be at goal. The weather looks good, so I do not have any excuses there. Watch out road litter, here I come.:D :smash:

I got my exercise while picking up litter on a 1.2 miles long stretch of road. While collecting 3 bags of litter and 2 bags of recyclable cans and plastic bottles I also found 3 CDs and about 50 pounds of engine parts. This took me a little over 2 hours to accomplish. I plan on doing about the same tomorrow if the weather holds. I also observed other people jogging along the road. I hope they were having fun and felt they were accomplishing as much as I was.

Well, I was hoping for a bigger weight loss this morning any loss is good, down one tenth of a pound. I will get my exercise by finishing picking up road litter on a sponsor’s road section. Anyone care to join me?

I did get out on the road patrolling for litter today. It took me one and a half hours to finish this particular section. It is amassing how much litter collects in 5 weeks. There is no requirement to pick it up again until the end of December, but think I will probable do it again in November just for the exercise and shoving the deadline further into the future. I hope I got enough exercise that the scale will not show a gain in the morning. I treated myself to several slices of raisin bread which I love but seems to up my weight. So, how am I doing?

My morning weight was exactly what it was yesterday, neither up nor down. The weather is not too good so I may need to run up and down my stairs for a while to get some exercise. I found out my wife has been adding some carbohydrates to my lunch soup. I need to finger out how that is effecting my weight. Do you have any advice?

I failed to get the needed exercise today. I did spend a few minutes walking up and down some stares in my home, but got bored of that fairly fast. I dislike driving to the gym but may need to do that soon. Come to think of it, I could have crushed some cans today. Why didn’t you remind me of that? :banghead:

Yesterday my bladder seem to be very active and this morning I had a BM just before weighing myself, so it is not surprising that I am down 1.9 pounds. However I am very pleased to see I only have one more pound to reach my personal goal.

I have been a little constipated lately so decided to check into what that may mean. . It explained some things I did not remember and thought it may help others also. Was I right or wrong? :)

I got outside for about an hour doing minimal exercise things like crushing cans and unloading the camper off the truck. I had another good BM today and feel better. What do you think the scale will say in the morning?

My scale met me with no change this morning, which is good! I wish to loose only one more pound and then no more. When the scale reads between 188 and 190 I allow myself a few more treats. It is very tricky to keep it exactly on 188. If you are on a maintenance regiment, what sort of range is your target?

I got a little exercise cutting wood and clearing a small area for a garden next spring. The wife cooked fresh chocolate chip cookies today and I lost self control as usual. It will take a day or two to get over that bump. I use to make a meal of them, but I do not do that any more. Can you see my before and after photos?

:hurray: The scale gave me a little surprise this morning. I was down another half pound and I did not expect that. Come to think of it, I think I missed lunch yesterday. That may have something to do with it. I usually have a large bowl of vegetable soup that my wife keeps for me. It has few calories and is heavy on vegetables. What do you usually have for lunch?

I allowed myself the day off. I spent most of my time attempting to program our TV and remote. I still do not have the thing figured out. Life is getting too complicated with all these gadgets. Maybe grinding my teeth over this effort I burned some calories. Do you give yourself days off? :troll:
