Hello All !!! Welcome to ... Me :)

Ah yeah, those are a lot of reasons. I don't blame you for wanting more hubby time that's for sure. I'm 26 so we're practically the same age. My hubby and I have been together for just over 5 years and we've lived together for most of it... hehe. So we've had a lot of time together and all of our family is here so I'm definitely ready.

I say take the time you need. You want to get the time with your hubby before the kids come because like you said, it changes. It would suck to have a hubby that can be deployed. I'm glad my hubby has no interest whatsoever in things like that. How much longer does your hubby have in the army/navy/whatever it is he is in? Do you think he'd go on longer than that?

The elliptical is hard! I remember the first time I went on it, I lasted 2 minutes. I probably could have made it 5 if I really tried though, lol. Now I can do an hour, but it's an hour of torture, lol.

Yeah if I was home and he wasnt military ... I would be WAY more ready. He has 3 years and 9 months left in unless he goes national guard (he is airforce now ...and if they let him go guard it doubles his time in ..BUT he only does his one weekend a month, two weeks a year thing).

I did 10 mins on the elliptical .. and at first i just went .. then half way there i tinkered with the stuff and put in my age and i set it on fat burn .. but my heart rate was 30 over the targe heart rate for fat burn so I dropped it down .. but i felt like i was barly moving lol .. so i went back up to what i started at ...and that was in the 80% cardio (it said high intensity) So i felt good with that .. and after 10 mins my legs felt like noodles lol :)

I really appreciate you stoppin by my diary ... Id get pretty lonley without you stopping in :)
 
193.8 ... so for this week I gained .02 ounces.

I did drink last night tho .. but it was only 1 drink in all, and I had chips ...and .. chocolate (GASP) ... I ate the sugar to put me to sleep .. I know its wrong and i shouldnt have done it but i was at a friends house and me and the hubby were sleeping on a tiny mattress and it wasnt really comfortable and i couldnt sleep .. and then after FINALLY getting to sleep hubby woke me up less then 4 hrs later to go home and I have been awake ever since. So we will see how the weight looks tom. Still REALLY sore from the gym but we are going back tom after hubby gets off work, if Im still too sore to lift I will just do cardio .. but hopefully i can do both. Do you guys do low intensity fat burn or the normal cardio setting on the elliptical ? Im not sure which one I should be doing cuz my main goal right now is to lose weight ... burn fat ...

Todays cals were 1882, pretty high but I did drink a mountain dew to stay awake so I could get my sleep back on track tonight so that was alot.

Oh I was reading up on pickle juice and if its good for you ..I LOVE IT .. and they say if you drink it you wont have muscle cramps from working out .. something about the electrolytes in it replenish what you have lost during you work out, and its also good for hangovers. Its the salt in it that is supposed to help .. I have quit putting salt on everything I eat .. and I pretty much have stopped eating it all together (few pretzels now and then) so I wonder if it would be ok for me to drink if I wanted to...any advice ?

Do you think your hubby will do the National Guard thing? That's a lot of added time! If I were you I'd be scared to have a kid while my hubby is gone a lot, so I definitely don't blame you at all! Especially when you don't have family around to help out.

I'm glad you enjoy my company! WOO! LOL.. I totally understand the whole lonely thing on here, it sucks when no one visits, heh.

When I go on the elliptical I do hills level 6. I like doing hills because the levels go up and down and so it's like doing intervals which is good for the body. At least that's what I've heard. I heard it was better to do it that way than say doing the same level the entire time. I think either way, you're moving and burning calories!

I hate pickles, so there's no way I'd drink pickle juice! :ack2:

Mmmm! I love pickle juice! When I was in elementary school and we'd have hambergers, they'd give us the little cups with some pickle slices in them. My friends used to give me their cups so I could drink the juice. lol And when I was in high school, we used to go get a jar or two of pickles to munch on while we watched movies and we'd always divide the juice and drink it when the jar was gone.

My internet was down so I couldnt post for a day or so. Started a new workout with the hubby. We just kinda do our own thing but we go to the gym together. We went for 45min to and hour yesterday .. 15 mins cardio and 30 weight lifting. Today I did 30 cardio on the bike (read a magazine and time just FLEW by!) and 30 mins weight lifting and 15 mins strecthing. I also ended up with 1292 cals for the day :hurray: And my protein was at 96 and my fiber was at 26 .... I feel like I had a GREAT day ... calorie wise and workout wise ... but I did have a MAJOR headache ..and was REALLY dehydrated. Hubby said I looked really pale and greenish before we worked out, he said we could just go home cuz he didnt want me to be sick but I decided i would give it a try and ended up feeling great :)

I got out of the house today and met with some other air force spouses so that was AWESOME! Gonna start doing that every tuesday :)

That sounds so fun to have an outing every week!

Good job on the exercise! For the elliptical, when I do hills level 6 I think the highest point is at a level of 7 or 8 or something. That's the same with my bike, I do hills level 4 but the highest point of resistance is actually level 6. I just know that at the higher levels I wouldn't be able to go on as long as I do on the hills setting. It's kind of nice to do the interval type of setting because when it's at lower intensity you can increase your speed and change it up a bit that way.
 
Risty-Missed the gym today but plan on trying that out tom :)

Cals for today was 1563, protein was 78.5, fiber was 31.

No workout for today, arm is pretty sore .. to the point it hurts just to carry a jug of water so hubby and I decided to rest today and go back tom. Thinking about doing this every week ..... taking wednesday and sunday off .. I think that would be ok working out 5 days a week. But I did get in at least 4 hours of light cleaning in the house :)

Shelf broke in the house today ... shelf that had almost every SINGLE drinking glass we own ... while i was standing in the kitchen it broke and SHATTERED all over the floor right beside me. I immediately started crying, now we gotta buy new glasses and mine were so pretty and I dont wanna pay for new glasses lol. So thats all for today .. Oh and weight was 193.6 so down .2 from yesterday :)

Got super hungry 6 hrs after dinner so I ate a ham and cheese sandwich and some strawberries ... and .... some .... chocolate !!

Still my total cals for today is not at 2000 so I shouldnt gain any since I burn at least 3000 a day :) It was yummy tho .. thats my treat for this week :)

OMG !!! Woke up this morn ... weighed myself .... 2.4 lbs GONE !! Which doesnt make a lot of sense cuz also woke up this morn to TOM ... Most women gain more .. water weight .. but I dont normally see a difference on the scale ... but 2.4 lbs !!! AND I ate WAY more yesterday that normal .. and for some reason Im starving lol .. And today is supposed to be my first day back to the gym since I took a break wednesday ... I really dont feel like sitting on those lil bitty bike seats ... I wonder if I just walk some and lift some weights if that will do ... BLAH I hate these days for feeling like crap .. BUT ... at least it came with an awesome weight loss and I FINALLY got more than 4 hrs of sleep last night !!! WOOOO HOOOo

But grats on the weight loss!!! That's great! And don't worry about your snack after dinner either. You shouldn't ever have to starve yourself to lose weight. If you feel hungry, it's because your body needs food. And if you burn 3000 calories a day, eating 2000 is absolutly fine. Grats again!

Today woke up like i said with TOM BUT ... i lost 2.4 lbs !!! :eek: WOW .. didnt expect that ! Felt like crap all day ... weak .. no energy .. BUT I still went to the gym .. couldnt do some machines cuz my arm was still pretty sore and I couldnt sit on some of the machines (HATE being a girl sometimes :banghead:) but I did do 15 mins on the bike on the level with hills so I was happy I could go that long... and 15 mins walking on the treadmil at 3.1 mph, not too fast but not too slow and I lifted a few weights. I havent even been up for 12 hrs and I fell asleep on the couch, this month I guess it just hit really hard and wiped me out. Cals for today were a bit high since It was a short day, 1500's. Excited to see if the scale says the same thing in the morn .. just seems like today was a fluke lol. Thanks for reading ! :) OHHH .... AND .... I hit my first goal !!! 5 lbs gone !!!! WOO HOOO
 
First of all, sorry to hear about your shelf! That sucks so bad! I think I would have freaked out, I don't think I would have cried because my glasses are all mix and match, not really any the same until we actually get a set... I would have been angry for the mess I'd have to clean, but probably happy later to have an excuse to buy an actual set! LOL.... I'm sorry that your pretty set for ruined though!

Congrats on reaching your first goal! That's awesome! And don't question the weight loss during TOM! These mysteries sometimes happen... just be glad! LOL
 
Today.... gained 2 lbs .... ate ok .. stayed within my cal range .. just a lil bummed. I know its cuz TOM .. so when its over I can find out what I really weigh :)
 
Congrats on the loss so far, and your motivation!!! Even if you gained, it doesn't matter, because it can be due to numerous factors, like TOM (ugh, it sucks though, i know :p)
Anyways, just keep giving it 100%, you'll see the results ;)

Thanks for the support everyone. I did some volunteering today and they fed us .. so it wasnt great .. hot dog and chips .. AND i had two cookies ... AND two candy bars !!! OMG .... Not feeling well about not losing weight after trying so hard .. and having all that free food around .. was BAD ... BUT. . Im volunteering again tom and bringing my own food so this doesnt happen again !!! Its been awhile since I had chocolate .. and with TOM and feeling bad and it just being there for the taking ... i couldnt resist. But I will tom :) No weight change either as of this morn ... I also remembered that the day I lost 2.4 lbs I drank ALOT of water the day before ... and havent drank much since ... soo... Im assuming is water weight .. so .. im drinking alot now :) Keep up the great work everyone, see you all tom :)
 
oh yes, TOM makes me crave the chocolate too!!! just had a few meltable waffers myself :) mine is on its way and i always know because i crave my sweets. Water is def good to keep drinking... ive gotten bad with that again... but its all good... i def need to get back on the horse again... esp now that its warmer here where i am and i need to keep hydrated!!! What is your weight loss goal over all? Congrats on your loss and chin up... when its my TOM... i gain between 3-5 lbs during ... and then the day after i am back to normal!! :):hurray:
 
Well now that TOM is over ... my weight as of this morn was 193.8 .... that means I didnt lose ANYTHING this week AT ALL ... at the week before I GAINED 2 ounces ... and the week before that I GAINED 8 ounces !!!! Granted I started working out ... so maybe its muscle ... but for THREE WEEKS. Makes me think "whats the point" ... Maybe I should do measurements .. so maybe I could see those change .... For the past month I havent eaten over 3000 cals a day (thats what I burn a day ..) .. Only two days did I eat 2000 cals a day ... I normally eat anywhere between 1200 - 1500 calories .. so I dont understand. How can I not only staul (sp?) for 3 weeks but I GAINED !! Im going to keep eating the right amount of calories .. and keep going to the gym. I just wish I could see some results soon ... I know during TOM I went down to 191 ..... I have no idea how that happened .. but It went back up the next day. I know I havent been drinking near enough water ... so my goal for today is to drink over 60 ounces of water ...I have 84 ounces measured out .. and im going to the gym today so I always drink alot at the gym. Hope everyone else is having more luck then I am ...
 
I'm with you on that, for the last week my weight keeps jumping up and down by a couple pounds a day. o_O I'm fairly sure mine is related to too much sodium. Have you been eating a lot of soduim rich foods? Sometimes things that you wouldn't think have a lot of salt actually do. And that can make you retain water which adds weight (not fat, you could still be losing fat, but holding on to water). Drink lots and lots of water and watch the soduim intake.

Of course, this is just a guess. Hope things go better this week!
 
Goal for today ... did it .. Drank over 100 ounces of water today, did 1 hr of cardio (30 walking, 30 on bike) and 1 hr weight lifting and resistence tube. HOPE the scale moves tom morn :)

Oh and cals for day were 1300 :)

Grats! Good job today! I wish I could drink 100 oz in a day, that's great. I'll have my fingers crossed for you, but I'm sure that number will be going down.
