Hector's road to redemption

Whats up everyone my name is hector, im 22yrs old stand at 6'1'' and weight 242 lbs. my goal is to lose 30 lbs in 3 months and make my college basketball team. My method of training for this is 2 days strenght training to preserve muscle while doing 5 days of cardio. so far its been 1 month and i went from 250 lbs to 242 lbs. I hope i can keep this up. thanks for the support peeps.
 
woke up this morning and stand in front of a mirror, im seeing way more muscle definition around my mid section,shoulders and bicep. i kind of havnt been eating healthy but im doing fairly well in staying with my workout rountines.

update: went to the park yesterday with my brother to do some shooting drills and decided to see if can jump higher, sure enough my vertical increased about 1 1/2 inch. this really got me going in terms on motivation, i feel great. I also dont wake up feeling tired, i wake up feeling ready to run a marathon. I oupted out to tryout for my schools team, im more interested in trying out for the NBDL, its the semi-pro league affiliated with the NBA. I hope everyone has a happy new year!!!
 
update: i suffered an ankle sprained playing basketball, the pain is minimal but the swelling limits my movement. a minor setback in my training in terms of cardio but im still hitting the weight room working on my upper body and doing 30mins of biking. i hope to be better in 1 week
 
My ankle is 90% recovered. thats good enough to do strenght training. I'm now working out 3days a week and doing cardio the other 3 days with a one day off. Im taking pictures each week to track my progress
 
Re-sprained my ankle again :( but i started rehab today. I will be back out on the floor playing basketball again. i promise. just another bump on the road, no biggie ;)
