Heavy duty

I'm trying to drop about 30 lbs.
my stats are

5'0"
153 lbs
32 yrs.

I work out every Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs.

I usually do the elliptical for 45min on Mon, Wed, then i work my legs with machine leg press, inner and outer thigs and squats. all machines are set at 50lbs and 3 sets of 10.

on Tues and Thurs I do stationary bike for 30min, then treadmill for another 30 , i use freeweights 8lbs with for 3 sets of 10 rep.all exercises for arms biceps, triceps chest.

food wise i usually for breakfast have a protein drink from jamba juice which is rasberry juice, oj, blueberries, bananas and ice.
for lunch is usually a slice of pizza or grill chicken salad /or what ever the job fixes ( grill chicken, yellow rice and mixed veggies)

for dinner i have either another protein juice or sometimes i bad a go to mcdonalds and have chicken selects with small fries and water or i make grill chicken with salad.

heres the question it seems to me that i'm doing the right thing but then i'm sure.

any suggestion

Your workout is cool but your diet may be under the radar. Try staying away from pizza and McDonalds. Eating small healthy meals every 3 or 4 hours is the ticket. Also, that Jamba Juice stuff is crap, too much sugar! You're better off with an apple and a handful of cashews or small can of tuna. Fruit drinks are too potent on the body.

Good luck.

I agree. Jamba Juice may taste good, but it's def not good for you, they most likely have nutrition facts on their site, you could just google it and see.

If you want protein shakes, why not try making your own? I haven't really done this yet, so I don't have any advice, but I'm sure others on here have plenty. Try looking around, or maybe starting a thread in the nutrition section. :)

I don't think your workout is optimal. I think it's too much at one time and it's missing some critical muscles.

I'd also add in more food. Here are 5 tips to fat loss to help get you started:

1) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be 2-3 hours apart. Each meal should contain one protein and one carb. The first meal should be eaten within an hour after waking.

2) Drink a cup of water at each meal.

3) Rest properly. This means taking at least 48 hours between strength training the same muscles, and it also means getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Lastly, it means taking 1-2 days off from exercising per week.

4) Cardio. This should be done at different intensity levels and different session lengths. Consider doing a low intensity/long session, a high intensity/short session and a few medium intensity/medium length sessions.

5) Strength Training. Strength train each muscle 1-3 times per week. You should lift a proper weight and perform the proper amount of sets/reps for your strength training method. If you need more guidance or exercise ideas you can head over

All of the above things combined will result in fat loss.

I truly hope nobody pays any attention to these ridiculous posts!!

Muscleboy, like everyone says, you need to cut out the junk my friend. If you want protein shakes, buy some whey protein powder and mix it up with some milk.

Take a look around at the nutrition threads (and remember, the search facility is your friend) you should find loads of usefull info on changing your diet. Follow Lynn's recommendations and you will definitly start to see improvements.

Best of luck :)
