Heather's Healthy Beginnings

Evening all!

Well, I think I'm getting a head cold. I'm not sure tho - gonna try to sleep it off as much as possible tonight. I didn't go to the gym this morning because I was on call and this afternoon I was just tired and feeling icky. I'm going to *try* to go tomorrow even if it means doing something simple. So hope and pray for me that I don't get whatever I think I feel coming in my sinuses!!

Natalie thanks so much for the encouragement, you're awesome :) Indeed, I'm under a bit of stress now. But I find that I've made myself a routine and sticking to routines helps me to get rid of stress. Just gotta will whatever I might have brewing in my sinuses awayyyy!

So just a brief entry tonite. My work laptop is under repair in the office so I don't have the luxury of being able to sprawl on the couch while watching tv and read through everything. Think I'm just gonna keep it simple and go out to get some rest.

My eyes feel blurry/burning too - at least the area around my eyes. Sure sign of sinus irritation. Uggggh. Pleeeeease let this go away by tomorrow!!!!

OK, this is officially not cool. I have only been to the gym ONE day this week. Woke up this morning and my entire face hurt - I definitely have some sort of head cold. Not TOO bad though, and I was totally getting up to go to the gym. . . .then I had some weird GI issue and spent the next 10 minutes in the bathroom. Ugh.

I HATE going to the gym after work, but I might have to do it today. . . .but then again I might have work stuff to catch up on since my computer died yesterday. I dunno. I'm just feeling stagnant with no gym. :( But I keep reminding myself that I'm still eating well and it's ok.

Blah. Anyway, time for work. :p

Try Advil Cold and Sinus, or Tylenol Cold and Sinus. I don't know if you do drugs, but I have found in the past when I am feeling terrible from a head cold that not only do these drugs work to clear my head, they also give me a kick start to exercise. They don't make me drowsy if anything the make me feel like I've just had a couple of cups of coffee! Maybe they will work for ya? In any case I hope you feel better and good luck on the Challenge weigh in tomorrow. GO BLUE TEAM!!!!:seeya:
 
Oh, Heather, I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well! I know how maddening it is to want to exercise and get your body moving and have your body just refuse or not be in a fit state to do all that you want. I really hope it clears up soon and you feel much better!

Its ok Heather!! Sometimes we have weeks that don't work out the way we want them too... the following week will be good ..just look a little head and stay positive hun .. you are definitely on your weight loss ... you have lost ten pounds so far ... that is important ..

you keep it up .. you can do this ..take care of yourself first although ..if you are take time, relax to get better ..

Well. . . .I definitely have a horrid cold. Low-grade fevers and just feeling like crap in general. Have to carry around a tissue box with me in the car and my nose already looks like Rudolph. I can feel it creeping into my lungs and will have to take my inhaler tonight probably. I'm letting my body rest up. . . .still being careful with my eating, but just letting myself take a rest. I think I've been too stressed with work and all and I just need a little break. So hopefully I'll be back in the gym by this weekend!

Hey all!

So I'm feeling better today. Not 100% but definitely better. I credit the nap I took yesterday after work and the fact that I've been taking these homeopathic things - this zicam stuff. One of my patient's family members sent me home one day with an arsenal of stuff - zinc lozenges, zicam, vitamin c, airborne, the whole works. And I think it is a load of crap generally, but I actually think that the stuff speeds up the process! I took it easy on myself - no gym for the past few days. I've still been conscious of my eating, and I still lost 1.5 lbs this week for the summer solstice challenge!! Amazing. I would be more excited but I'm just tired. I keep expecting my weight to just soar back up like it used to when I starved and binged. Weird to get out of that mindset.

Well onto stats for today because I want to catch up in everyone's journals! This isn't complete and I'll have to edit it later because I haven't had dinner yet, but here's an estimation:

Hey all! Hope everyone is having a safe, relaxing weekend.

I'm starting to think that I have a sinus infection. I'm still totally congested and it's very positional in terms of how much pressure I feel in my face when I move. If I lean over, it becomes unbearable. I still haven't been back to the gym. I'm just exhausted. :( Plus my neck is really sore - I think I have swollen glands. I hope this isn't mono!!! Then again I don't think mono includes symptoms of a sinus infection. Guess I gotta call the doc for an appointment on Monday. Lovely.

In the mean time, I'm making decently with my eating. It's frustrating to not go to the gym, but I definitely need the rest. I dunno I'm definitely starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. I just realized I have literally one month before we move and we haven't started to pack yet. That needs to be done. Today I discovered a charge on my bank statement that I didn't put on there so I had to cancel my debit card with them and get a new one re-issued, then I had to transfer money from my savings to my checking because the charge was like $275 and had put me into the red!! :cuss::banghead: And god forbid the bank help you out. They told me they couldn't do anything until it is actually posted to my account which will be on Tuesday. Lovely. Thanks for watching my back, PNC. Then they told me that yes, I would have an additional charge on my account if I didn't transfer money in to cover the costs. GREAT. This is a pivotal financial point right now - one which I can't afford to have some asshat spending the money that I NEED TO HELP ME MOVE!!!! :rant:

OK *deep breath* anyway. . . .I think today I'll do some packing. Thank GOD I just found some packing tape from the last time we moved, because I don't have any cash on me to go buy some more until I get my new credit card in the mail, or go to a local branch to withdraw money.

Le sigh. I'm feeling just sorry for myself today. As long as I get some significant packing accomplished, I think I'll feel better. Blah.

Hi Heather, sorry to hear your under the weather. Don't worry about working out at the gym. It is not good to work out if you are sick, in fact it will just make you sicker! It's good that you are going to the doc as sinus infection symptoms can be part of Mono as I had a friend that had both at the same time. I hope you don't have it, cause its nasty!!!! REST, REST, REST and get back to exercise when you are feeling better. You have the rest of your life to change your lifestyle, don't rush it. Slow and steady wins the race. You are doing so great, don't let a little snotty virus get the better of you!

Oh, gosh, you're dealing with a horrible lot right now, aren't you? Can you do something nice for yourself? Lovely hot bath with sweet orange oil, or have your fella rub your shoulders and chest down with eucalyptus or peppermint oil (my trick when I'm stuffy). Or even something that doesn't involve oil like getting some hot and sour soup for dinner, or...well, anything nice, really? Sorry, I'm sure this sounds all weird, but you're facing so much right now, and I just want something lovely for you.

Thanks so so so much for all the get well wishes, everyone!!! I am indeed feeling better today. I'm not sure - I made a dr's appointment for tomorrow but I feel so much better that I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. Who knows. I would have to go to an actual branch of my bank in order to get money to pay the copayment since my stupid card is no good now (had to cancel it because of the jerkoff who used my info and won't get a new one until the end of the week). So we will see.

Haven't been back to the gym yet but I'm hopeful for tomorrow morning. I felt relatively good all day today and now my decongestent has worn off and I am actually not too congested anymore. I didn't have to blow my nose every 2 minutes in the car today at work which was nice. I still have that lingering nasty feeling in my sinuses but without the congestion involved. Plus my worst day was definitely last Friday and Thursday. So we shall see.

Got a LOT done yesterday which was nice as well. I was feeling a tad overwhelmed on Saturday which was no fun whatsoever. But we got about 9 boxes packed up and I did literally 5 loads of laundry. We need to get some more boxes and I hope to get most of them from my job or the boy's. However, if we can't swing that, I think I'll probably buy several this weekend just as some to have in reserve. Gotta say that packing and doing all those loads of laundry got the heart rate up a little bit and I was definitely sweating which was a good feeling after a week of no sweat!

Anyway now to the run down for today:

Natalie, thanks so much!! Packing and unpacking is THE WORST!!! But luckily we got a good start on it and I'm feeling better today so things are moving in the right direction. :)

Elda thanks so much for the comment about how I don't need to stress about not being in the gym. It helped to refocus me and remind me that I need to take care of my health and not worry about the gym until I'm better again! I'm feeling tons better so I'm not sure if I'm going to go to the doc's tomorrow but we shall see. Just trying to be smart about it though, as I definitely don't want to cancel an appointment just to have to make one again later. :p
