Heart rate after jogging

Hi All,

I recently started jogging on a 4.3 mile track in a local park. My resting heart rate (in the morning) is 60-65 bpm. I usually run in the mornings.

The thing is that after I finish running, my heart rate stays up to 80-85 until evening. When I wake up the next morning, it's back to 60-65. I am wondering is this is normal for my heart rate to stay slightly elevated after jogging.

If I don't run on any given day, my heart rate stays in the 60-70 range throughout the day, which I think is good. I am 24, male.

Let me know what you think!

normal resting heart rate is 60 to100bpm for a healthy adult . can be around 50 for an athlete. as long as you feel okay - no signs and symptoms of cardiac probs you are probably just fine.

I think there's no problem

when I jog the machine always claims a hr between 150 n 190.. am I sick or maybe the measurements are different lol I dunno ??

Well your body doesn't get the change to drop it down all the way, considering you don't just stop running and go to sleep. A true resting heart rate is exactly that, resting. Once you train your VO2 a little more (just keep running), your O2 deficit and debt will get smaller, and your HR will jump up quicker, and slow down quicker due to training..
