Heading to the Beach... lots of work to do

Lots of work to do

So, heres my story... I'm 20, live in canada up in the snow and have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I went to visit someone I met online, whom lives in Florida, where all the beaches are. We met just a week ago, and we got along really well, really hit it off, but I don't exactly have a beach body, so I was struggling with confidence while I was with her, as she is incredibly beautiful.

Before I left to visit, I tried to lose as much weight as possible in a month, I started at 300 and managed to get to 290 before heading to see her the first time. What really motivated me to lose the weight was just the simple fact that from being down in Florida for just two weeks I got myself down to 280 without even trying, so now I'm determined more than ever and know I can get to my weight goal of 200. Though I'm aware its very unlikely I'll lose 80lb in 3 months, I want to try and lose as much as possible and get at least below 250 or so. Anyway, here are some pictures of me while I was in Florida, at about 285lb.

Currently I weigh 276! I'll update with new pictures as the weight falls off, hopefully I'll be in shape enough to be confident the next time I'm at the beach!

Right now the biggest changes I'm making are eating healthier, only drinking water, and walking for about an hour a day + working out for an hour using the Slim in 6 workout videos and running on a tread mill.

Just an Update of how my progress is going... will post a new picture once I'm below 245 just to stick with the theme of posting one every 20lb lost!

Me at 240:

and since most of these pictures are shitty for comparing appearance changes..
Left is me today (may 7th, at 235lb) and right is when I was at 258lb.

awwww that is such a cute story =D my boyfriend and i are also in a long distance relationship... im in the southeastern part of the US and hes in the southwestern.

ive lost about 20 pounds in just 6 weeks from watching my calories and trying to walk at least 4 miles a day and stretching. sooo what you are doing should work really well..... soo you will at the VERY least hit 250 in 3 months =D you can lose 10 pounds a month pretty consistently and that would get you into the 240s...

best of luck!!!

:seeya:Hey, fellow Canuck! :eh:

Great job on your WL so far, eh?! Well done, mate! You seem very inspired to lose it! Keep up with the healthy eating, hit the gym regularly, and you will be sexy and svelte in no time! BTW, GREAT dimples!!! :Angel_anim:

Best wishes on your journey

Long distance relationships are rarely going to be worth the effort. It starts to not be enough and you end up meeting other people, that's just how it works.

I only say this from experience, not to just be a dick. Just be careful is all.

I was in a long distance relationship for a little over a year...it was great motivation for me to stick to my diet and exercise regimen because I only saw him once a month and I didn't want to look fat, especially when I had to meet his friends and family. I got down to 118 lbs three months after we started dating and maintained it the entire relationship...after we broke up I gained 10 lbs back, which is where I am now.

You should be able to reach your goal. Continue what you're doing with your diet and do cardio and weight training.

And long distance relationships CAN work, if both people are willing to work for it...

Good luck :)

Even though its long distance, we manage to spend a lot of time together because we play an online game together! but I appreciate the concerned advice! The weight loss is more of a goal for myself either way, despite the way this all seems... :p So far about 20lb down in 1 month! It is -definitely- good motivation, even though there isn't much change to my appearance yet, and I've still got a ton of work to do before my abs are remotely visible which is my long term goal.

WOOOO I got below 250! and I still have 5 weeks left before I head to Florida... so I passed my goal by some decent amount... so happy. This is the lowest I've weighed since high school, a HUGE bench mark for me.

It's obvious theres no way I'm really going to have a beach body in 5 weeks, I'm almost guaranteed to have extra skin hanging around even when I do get to my goal of about 200 or less, but still I'm happy to be moving in that direction. I feel a lot more confident and sure of myself, and I have a lot more energy than I used to!

Lets see if I can't get to about 230 before its time to head back to Florida! :D All posts here really help with supporting me and keeping me motivated, I'm very glad I found these forums! <3

Wow!
Awesome job knocking it outta the park in such a short amount of time.
I think the girl has more to do with it than Florida, but what do I know *smirking while shrugging shoulders*. :biggrinjester:
Keep it up and you are for sure be to your goal weight in no time at all!

You're cute and I'm sure she's smitten with you regardless of your weight. Having said that, good luck, you'll be at your goal before you know it!

There's nothing like a little bit of romance to keep the weight off, if you ask me. All the best champ!

congrats on your weight loss so far!! :) can definitely tell the difference.

and nice watch tan, by the way. haha

2 weeks left to go and 10lb passed my goal! Just updating for a new pic of me at 240! still at that inbetween phase... but damn am I feeling so much better lately. :D

So I'm back, it went really well, I felt so much more comfortable with myself than I did last time and it let me be myself a lot more and have a lot more fun... I'm also down to 226 now! 26lb away from my goal... but I'm noticing that I'm still pretty chubby, might just be my perspective, but the jiggly chin and such is all still visible to me.

I plan to start working out a lot more seriously now to tone and build muscle on my legs/chest and arms... I've set a goal for myself to run a marathon before the year ends and I plan on starting training soon, (Biggest Loser Inspired me on this one!)

I'll keep updating this as the weight drops off, but I was wondering, at the height of 5'10, if anyone could tell me what a good healthy goal weight should be? In a sense that what weight will I need to reach before I can take my shirt off at a beach and not make children run away screaming and crying? (joking.. mostly :p)

I'm also thinking that it might be time to change my goal to 180, or maybe less, as a healthy weight to be at for my height... but I'm not sure on this either.
