headaches and loss of energy

i tried doing a diet where u eat 5-6 meals a day, i had a fruit bar and glass of milk for breakfast, another fruit bar during school, once more a bar and glass of milk after school, then after that far i started feeling a bad headache, and i really didnt have any energy to go exercise, is this feeling normal due to the sudden switch in eating?

Well, a fruit bar and a glass of milk is not a meal really...that's only like 200 calories, right? Are you talking like a nutri-grain bar? And there's not a significant source of protein in that meal. Maybe I'm not understanding what a fruit bar is though...

You need protein with each of your meals. Each meal should have protein AND carbs. Fruit and grain bars probably have a negligible amount of protein and lots of carbs. If you have to eat bars, a meal replacement bar would be a better idea.

Not sure why you got a headache...did you drink enough water throughout the day? I only get headaches if I'm dehydrated.

The lack of energy thing is partially from not eating enough I would think. Lack of energy is a cop out excuse though for not exercising. I wake up every morning to go work out and LOTS of times I'm yawning all the way to the gym but I still go and as soon as I get started my energy level miraculously increases! :)

:D this from your other post.... cut and past FTW!!!
do this for 3 week !!!

*******************************
How about this? Get a exersice plain. Try running, it does not have to be long. Lets call it level 1 running, you will run every day for 30min (look up hiit).
Just keep your normal diet for now. Unless it's fast food every day. Sure cut down on pop, and chips. But the main point is keep running for a month. Don't wieght your self every day and keep running. <remove the idea of your weight from your mind. Don't think about it>

You will feel better and get better from month of running alone.

You will not lose 1lb a week just running (hell even with a good diet and workout that is hard) but you will feel better and will some lose weight.

This will be your steping stone.

Stick to running for a month and see if you can do it... 20min - 30 min of running - jogging... don't cheat your self.

If you can't even stick to running, then I'm sorry. <I hate when I am mean> You will not change.

Cut and past, for the win!

Also make sure you are getting enough vegetables and taking your vitamins. If all you eat are fruit bars and milk you are missing out on some valuable vitamins your body needs for things like energy! If you do eat small meals make sure they are at least 10% of your total daily intake otherwise they are not considered a meal and are not "boosting" your metabolism.

Caffeine

Caffeine is another thing to look at. You may not notice it, but if you've been drinking sodas in the past, and suddenly stopped you could be getting headaches from lack of caffeine.

Fruit bars and milk...good stuff, but this doesn't give you all the nutrients you need. Get more variety! Probably need a little more cals, too. Have a power bar, yogurt or yogurt smoothie, apple, wheat thins, trail mix, veggies, a sandwich, pasta, stuff like that. Mix it up a bit so you get a wide range of nutrients throughout the day. Eat something more carbohydrate-rich in the meal you eat closest to before your workout.
Might want to take a multi-vitamin or supplement too, and drink enough water. I'm not trying to be an advertisement here, but I add X2O to my water and it's done wonders for my energy level. It's a mineral supplement that's highly absorbable/usable by your body cells. if ya need more info on that.

And are you getting enough sleep??

You could also try exercising in the morning before school. Yes I know it sounds unearthly to get up so early...but this way you get it out of the way before your day starts and nothing else can get in the way, and then you won't be dreading it all day 'cause it will already be done. Morning exercisers are a lot more consistent.
Anyways...good luck
