Hard boiled eggs?

k, so i know that egg whites are good for you, but the yolk isnt so good, so if i were to hard boil some eggs and just take off the white part and eat that, then leave the yolk in the trash or something, will it still be good for me?

I don't see why not =\... Though the best part (best tasting) of the egg is the yolk - and that my friend, is something I can never throw away :( .

I agree, i wouldnt throw away the egg yolk.....especially from a hard boiled egg....

ive been eating 3-4 hard boiled eggs for meal 2 for a while now and they're a brilliant snack. i only eat 1 yolk though, but rather than throw 2/3 and keep 1 white with a yolk i keep a bit in each part of the white; so you barely notice the difference.

all the fat is in the yolk so it depends entirely on your overall diet. if you are low on fats then eat a few yolks, if you have a high fat diet just cut yolks out. i wouldnt eat more than 2 yolks a day if you have them daily though.

Also, ive developed a taste for eggs and houmous. Is that completely wierd? Im not pregnant, but its a wierd combo that i really like.

Probably dumb on my part, but it's pretty safe to say that hard boiled eggs kept in a plastic bag and inside one of those cooler type lunch bags (The insulated ones) in a fridge are pretty much only good for that particular day they're cooked on, no? I mean, it's probably not that safe to eat a hard boiled egg a day after it was done, right?

i boiled 18 eggs at once one time because they were expiring soon. i ate them over a course of 3-4 days. they were still in the shell. but i odnt see why you couldnt put them in a sandwich bag and keep them cold

I've hard boiled eggs on Monday morning for the entire week...right or wrong! LOL I did't get sick or anything, I just kept them in the shell and in the fridge...:)

Lately, I bring them raw and cook them in the microwave at work. I separate the yolk from the white and put in a microwave safe small dish, stirr and put a little bit of water (like a tablespoon) and a drop of olive oil. Literally you put them in for 20 seconds, stirr and 20 seconds again. They come out really good! The whole process takes about 3 minutes :)

I have found that I like the whites better when they are warm...

I love hard boiled eggs as a snack, I do the same as a previous poster. Leave just a little yolk and the rest egg white. Good protein to hold me over until it's time to eat again.

i have 2-3 boiled eggs every morning with breakfast, but i don't eat the yolks. instead, i'll cut the eggs in half, scoup out the yolks and put a dab of ketchup or a small piece of cheddar cheese inside the egg white. it's delicious.

It's perfectly safe to keep eyes cooked in your fridge. I have to have some yolk in my egg. I mix about 1 yolk to three whites. Robert Kennedy lists eggs as one of the most perfect foods in his book "Rock Hard". It's to bad I loaned it to someone!!!

Funny story- I boiled eggs last night to bring them for lunch today. Well I took the shell off and stored them in a small container and sprinkled some lime juice. This morning I took them out of the fridge and put them the container in the plastic bag where I put the rest of my lunch. While I was taking them out of the fridge I noticed that my fridge had a little funky egg smell but it wasn't that strong.
Well today when I got to work I took the elevator and then the whole elevator starts smelling of eggs! The eggs in my bag made the elevator stink! There was a bunch of people in there too! Luckily I didn't know any of them..

I eat about 2 hardboiled eggs each day monday-friday and never throw the yokes away! Does it really make that much difference to your daily fat intake?

I doubt two yokes are going to throw your whole diet off, but what do I know:) I just toss em cause I think they taste bad

I agree they are not the best tasting. But you can get your healthy fats from other places like fish oil, flax oil, almonds, ect. Just toss them, but make sure you are still getting about 30% of cals from fat.
