Finally I've decided to get my act together and drop these excess kg's I'm carrying AGAIN. I've done the Cohens before and it worked a treat. But had a pretty rough year and lost the desire to to do pretty much anything. But now .... I'm back in the land of the living and I'm going to get with the program AGAIN

My starting stats are:

26.11.07: 75.3kgs
26.11.07: Arm - 27.5cm; Bust - 103cm; Waiste - 82cm; Hips - 100cm Thigh - 57.5cm Total: 370cm

This weeks goals

Walk 30 minutes 3 days
Drink 1.5ltrs water a day
Weigh every morsal!!

Really looking forward to seeing the changes again. If anyone out there is starting over or just starting out join me and maybe we can help motivate and encourage each other.

Cheers

Hi Hapi_girl. Welcome to the forum & welcome back to Cohen's (great decision). You sound like you have the right attitude to achieve your goals. All the best with them & I look forward to following your progress, cheers, Cate.

Welcome as well Hapi_girl.

look forward to seeing you slim down and taking us along with you on your journey.
Let us know if I can help in any way.

Goodluck.
Sam:)

Thanks Cate and Sam for your support.

Yesterday went great, achieved 2 of my personal goals to drink 1.5 lts of water and stick to my allowance DONE. Exercise NO.

I plan to include exercise from the start this time because I'm a bit concerned about loose skin seeing I piled back on what I had lost 12 months ago. Nothing too major, a 30 minute walk a day and some light weight training. I think it will be good for me too get into the exercise habit earlier rather than later, as it was one of my downfalls last time because I didn't really exercise even after I finished my re-feed. Does anyone else exercise while doing the plan - would love to hear anyone else’s thoughts on whether or not it's a good idea or not.

I'm also a little concerned about my motivation levels this time round especially as I'm using my old plan and won't be doing the blood test etc. The Cohen’s rep told me she couldn’t be sure it would still work as effectively now that I have been off it for 12 months, so hopefully I'll get lucky, even if I don't loose as quickly, just as long as it comes off!

Well I better get off here and ready for work. Hope everyone has a great day!

Cheers

Hi Hapi Girl

Welcome Welcome Welcome....

Keep up the great work. Isn't it amazing how even the simplist goals can feel so rewarding when they contribute to the big picture.

Looking forward to hearing what you have to share from your experiences.

Lauren

Thanks Lauren, for your words. Yes I think the small goals work help make the end one so much more attainable!

Had another great day yesterday. I know it's only very early days, but hey ..... Again stuck to my goals with the water and stuck to the food exactly. Yesterday I drank 2 big glasses of water about half an hour before my meal and again about an hour after plus sipped my glass of water at my desk, so well and truly made the 1.5lt goal.

Yesterday I decided to have my lunch for breakfast, no particular reason except that after I had cooked it up for lunch it smelt so good... kangaroo dusted with paprika, garlic powder & turmeric, with cabbage and zucchini with a dash of water. ooohh sounds quite gross when it's in type, but is actually yummy. So anyway I had my lunch for breakfast with a cracker; at morning tea I had my fruit; lunch I had my yogurt; afternoon tea a cracker and a piece of fruit; dinner fish & veg allowance and 1/2 a cracker. I'm going to eat the same way today, because after having the lunch meal for breakfast I stayed quite full and didn't feel starving by lunch which, when I have yogurt for breakfast, is how I usually end up by lunch. It might have just been a one off but I'll see how it goes.

Not on to the exercise YET! But hoping tonight I can get tea organised early and the whole family can take the dog out for a walk. We started doing this when daylight savings started, but it’s fallen to the wayside as my hours at work have become longer.

I'm getting a walker shortly hopefully in the next couple of weeks so I can do my 30 minutes in the morning. Can't wait for that baby.

Well hope everyone has a great day and all your goals are fulfilled.

Cheers

Hi Hapi_girl, You are helping me out today as I'm here filling in some time before I head for a job interview. I was feeling great after a shower & getting dressed & coming into the forum usually makes me feel very positive. You have helped me, thank you, as you sound so positive. I did not exercise much at all as I was losing weight as it really made me very hungry & dizzy. I find 1.5 litres of water is no-where near enough for me even now & I need to drink between 3-4 litres to keep the weight off & just to feel good. Keep up the good work, cheers, Cate.

Cate - well done on your interview, I'm absolutely sure you did fantastic and I can see you getting 'THE' call!

I had another great day yesterday Cohen's wise, but not so good work wise - a major stuff up :conehead:- but it all turned out ok and I still have a job

Once again I managed to stick to the plan 100% and I'm starting to feel good not being loaded up with carbs. A naturopath once told me that wheat and gluten where no good for me, since doing Cohen's last time and again this time I think now she was definitely right.

Think you were right about the water Cate, yesterday I actually felt thirstier, not sure if that was due to 'thirst' or 'stress'!!, but I figure my next water goal I will make 2ltr. I actually find drinking 1.5lts an attainable goal at the moment.

Food wise not a problem. I really like eating big for breakfast. Today again I had dinner for breakfast; I'm having lunch for lunch; and breakfast for dinner. Just going to mix it up a bit over the coming weeks so then it hopefully won’t feel so restrictive.

Exercise - oh well didn't quite make it there again. My son was ill last night with a high temp and really not looking to well, and I had run out of panadol, our local chemist wasn't open so had to go 2 suburbs over to get to an after hours chemist. But tonight my hubby said he will stay home with kids (if I like), so then I can walk a bit faster - bless him.

Well better go get my cherubs moving - hopefully my son will not need to come home sick (that sounds awful of me doesn’t it - but I just have so much to catch up on at work because I'm filling in for someone else at the moment and need to keep up with my own work as well .... nightmare. Glad I love my job.

Hope you have a GREAT day.

Yesterday was another great Cohen's day. Even managed to drink 2 litres of water - without any effort really, for some reason I was quite thirsty. Even through last night I was waking up thirsty and having to get a drink - not sure what that’s about!

I thought with having my 2 main meals during the day and my breakfast at night I would be absolutely ravenous, but no! I actually felt quite 'light' and not that hungry at all. Sure that will change :willy_nilly:

I wasn't able to go for my walk AGAIN last night. My son still not well then I decide to do my grocery shopping when my hubby got home (hate late night shopping, but it's so much easier going alone!).

Hope every one has a fantastic Friday!

Cheers

Hi Hapi_girl

I also had the thirst during the night whilst doing the programme. I asked my counsellor at the time what it was about and they didn't know themselves. It may be from the amount protein we are consuming (don't quote me on this) though.

So glad to hear you are doing well.
Have you checked out Lifesgood in the before and afters........very inspiring.

Have a lovely weekend.

Sam:)

Thanks for the info Sam - I actually think I have heard or read that somewhere before so maybe it is why. I had a look at Laurens photos and she is gorgeous.

Friday I had a great Cohen's day. Drank 2lts of water and wait for it ..... 'drum roll' I WENT FOR A 45 MINUTE WALK..... Yes folks, FINALLY... I felt so great I came home and had a couple of relaxing glasses of red  but hey it's all good. I cut my alcohol out completely last time, but I enjoy my couple of weekend drinks, plus I have my work Xmas party coming up soon, so I weighed it up and decided that if it does slow my progress down a little, I can live with that.

Today I took the kids to the park even though the weather was a bit nasty, but they enjoyed it. Had a friend over in the arvo - didn’t plan to drink, but I did have a couple of glasses of Yellow Jewel that new low alcohol, low kilojoule champagne, but food wise etc, all good - no deviations (I know, I know the Alcohol is, but I mean food wise good). My friend bought dip and veggies and chips and I didn't even have even a sniff!!

Tomorrows family day, so we usually head off somewhere in the car for a drive, or the beach if it’s hot enough (hopefully nothing like today). Might suggest we go for a walk along the beach.

Hope everyone’s having a lovely weekend. I'm getting so excited about weighing in tomorrow (going to do it weekly this time around- gives me that bit more motivation).

FINGERS CROSSED

Cheers

YIPPEEEEeeeeee One week down 13.5kgs to go. Lost 3.8kgs and 9cm!

Really pleased with that loss (can you tell), especially with my little wine indulgence over the weekend and TTOM. I'm so happy, I'm going to take my very slightly smaller butt for a walk right now!

Hope everyone has a great day! Not looking like beach weather here again today, but can still do the walk along it.

Bye for now.

Just back from my 30 minute walk around the block and I did 20 minutes of light weights for biceps and back - nothing major just very light - 1 exercise each bicep curls and bent over rows 3 x 12 reps. I feel so more energetic. This diet really does have a whole lot of other benefits other than losing weight that’s for sure!

Have a great Sunday.

Hi Hapi Girl

Hapi Girl,

Well done on the weight lose - 3.8kg!!! FANTASTIC! You'll be at your goal in no time at all!

Just wondering how often you weight yourself?
I have to pry myself away from the scales at the moment, coz it changes everyday.

Keep up the good work. I hope that your son is feeling better.

Jen :)

Back again - no hubby or kids for most of the day, so can be on the computer guilt free. It's been good reading through some of the older threads. Very inspiring.

Thanks Jen! It's so exciting seeing those Kg's come off!

I weigh myself once a week, I find it helps me keep motivated. When I did Cohen's the first time round I did the same. I found that when I had really low loss weeks, I could go back and look at what I ate or drank that week and see what may have affected my loss. One of the biggest things that slowed my progress was diet drinks. I was drinking a couple of cans a day every day, when I weighed in that particular week I had only lost 200gms. So diet drinks are one thing that I have cut out this time. I know I've had a couple of wines this weekend and have no doubt that will affect my loss also, but I can live with that. If I'm going to drink something that affects the scales it may as well be worth it:reddevil:

Hope your surviving all!

Cheers

Congratulations Hapi_girl........I suspect your feeling it as well. I like you that you have made a decision (about drinking) but are not complaining about it, after all this is the hardest time of the month to go on any type of diet......in saying that (hypocite that I am) I started Cohens on the 11th December 2006. I was desperate by then.

WELL done on exercising.......I hate it but I know I have to do it. That was one of the things I loved about Cohens you lost amazing amounts of weight with no exercise.

Keep up the weight loss.

Sam:)

Thanks Sam. I just thought my decision to have the odd couple of drinks here and there thru the program over the festive season, might also help me not feel so completely out of it at social gatherings - particulary when no-one other than my husband, mother and best friend know I'm even dieting (though I'm sure they'll figure it out soon enough! :) And it's not like I'm going to really get into it, I'm only talking about limiting my drinks to one or two wines on a Friday or Saturday night.

Had a great day yesterday, stayed stricked to Cohen's, drank well and took the dog for a 45 minute walk. Then I sat down and watched Bridget Jones Diary, I love that movie, always gives me a laugh. The kids were unwell again yesterday so had to take the day off school/work back today, so better get going.

Hope everyone has a great day.
