hannah's xmas challenge diary

that is true. well im not disheartened yet.

went for an hour walk tonight, didn't really plan it that way, but i got lost around the suburb i've just moved to. haha. but it was really hilly so it felt so good.

im going to visit my parents in Adelaide on wednesday and staying for a week. I'm excited because my dad loves cooking and always makes amazing (and nutritious) food. im also going to a festival while im there which means a day out of crazy singing and dancing for exercise.

Early night to bed, stops late night snacking and i might actually be able to get up for a jog tomorrow morning!

You have to seriously make up your mind that you WANT to change. Go through the forum one day when you have some time and read up on food nutrition, you'll be amazed at the foods you think are good for which really aren't at all.

LOVE that you got lost on your walk. I did that a few times when we first moved and it was great :D

Have fun on your walk in the morning. I look forward to hearing about it ;)

Congrats on your good start. This is the critical time when a lot of people fall off plan. That has happened to me before...I do pretty good for a couple of weeks and then something happens and I drop off.
College years have good and bad things
The good-usually colleges have places to work out and you can usually find a friend to work out with
The bad-Cafeteria food and junk food...people are always getting pizza
Good luck kid! Fight the good fight!

I think it might be best if I actually make the effort to count calories. As much as I hate the hassle of researching everything I eat, I think it will help at the moment so I can exactly see where I'm blowing it.
Ooh and im loving that smilies are back in action!

Thanks for the encouragement brawny! This time I WILL stick with it.
I found college was probably one of the best years of my life, met so many amazing and diverse people that I probably wouldn't have socialized with prior to it, went to different places and events, and I learnt so much about the person I am and want to be. I also drank FAR too much!

Yesterday:

E:
Started my day with a 1 hour walk around the suburbs, up and down hills. Felt so good after as I was all refreshed for the day ahead

B:
Bowl of just right with low fat milk

E:
Wii fit yoga/muscle workout 1/2 hour

L:
Leftover spaghetti bolognese and salad

D:
Small eye fillet steak :drool5: and steamed vegies
Slice of garlic bread

Stayed over at a friend's house from college and had 3 whiskey and diet coke's to celebrate our uni results coming out. I PASSED!!!
We then walked to my university (so many hills) at about 1am, jumped the fence to the uni pool and had a swim for about an hour, walked home via the playground and went on the swings for another 1/2 hour. haha! It was so fun (and a sneaky bit of exercise without feeling like it).

Flying to my parents tonight. Can't wait for aeroplane food :ack2:...

Well I'm back from my parents place. Was the most amazing week.

Exercise:
My dad goes walking every morning at 5:45 am so i joined him and ended up going for 1 1/2 hours for 4 of the days i was there.
I also went to a FANTASTIC music festival on the hottest day, but it was so much fun. I was jumping up and down in the mosh pit for almost 6 hours straight. The security guards were handing us water over the fence too, which kept my fluids up and stopped me from passing out from the heat.
I really just enjoyed catching up with my old school friends and spending time with my family.

And on the food side:
Not all that good. My dad loves to cook all my favourite foods when i come home, which is probably not the best thing, but he's very organic with cooking, makes everything from scratch and doesnt smother anything with fat to add flavour.

So for dinners he made wood oven pizzas (i had broccoli, sweet potato, red onion, bocconcini capsicum and some cajun spiced chicken on mine).
The next night it was a thai chicken curry with coconut cream, chilli and rice.
Then he makes his own schnitzels; chicken, flour, egg, breadcrumbs and then just shallow fries them, and soaks up the excess fat.
I also had the most DELICIOUS eye fillet steak, medium rare of course with steamed vegetables.

And then came dessert! haha.
My mum made chocolate pudding one night, then another night it was bread and butter pudding with currents.:drool5:

As much as my parents tried to stuff my face, I didn't have large servings and all in all really enjoyed my time there. So I'm thinking I may have put on just a little weight while I was away, but it was totally worth it =P.

So back on track yesterday and today

Thursday 10th:
B: Just Right with low fat milk
L: mango and banana fruit salad
S: 1 Tim Tam (chocolate biscuit)
D: steak and salad
E: walk 1 hour in the morning, went to work last night

Today Friday 11th:
B: Bought a new cereal "Light and Tasty" (its a bit cheaper than Just Right) with no fat milk
L: Salad with cajun spiced chicken pieces
D: I'm planning to have the leftover cajun chicken with vegetables and a small side serve of macaroni and cheese
E: walk 1 hour, also helping to renovate my sister's backyard so we did an hour of shoveling, drilling, and just general clean up.

ANOTHER UPDATE:
I bought a house! Yay :jump:
Its close to my university so when I move in on the 11th of January I can sort out my gym membership at the uni sports centre.
