Hangs head in shame....back again***Diary of Kaplooie***

Low cal or low carb? I'm assuming low carb by your follow up. I think a lot of people think that. I get past the missing breads and pastas by just not torturing myself over them. Pizza however is still on my mind. But it is also my biggest trigger food for binge eating so I really really make my best effort to avoid it at all costs.

Raining today. I have a bunch of little projects to try and complete. Anyone know how to fix a water fountain that is not founting? Ya, neither do I. I ended my day yesteday 330 calories below my goal and had the hardest time sleeping. ever. I was still tossing and turning at 0200. Now I feel like a zombie.

Edited to add: Forgot to mention that our annual golf tourny was announced last night and I've got my four woman team together. It's a charity event with basically a fun festival atmosphere. We play 9 holes a day for two days and get a stinkin drunk as we possibly can. My team is called Hole in Wine and hopefully we can make it to the end of day two this year (last year one of our teammates dropped out on day two at the 4th hole because she was too hungover to continue). Our game plan this year includes eating while we are drinking because on day one last year we forgot to do that, hence the bad day two. I'm so excited, its three weekends away! I need to get out to the dock and practice my long drives.

The chances of any of the women I play golf with having that much fun at golf are so remote that I can't even imagine it happening! :( I just looked up a map of Alaska, to try to get a vague idea where you live & what it must be like. At school we just didn't study anything about your region really. Alaska is bloody HUGE! PM me where you live please KP as I'm now curious to know more about it. It doesn't have to be exactly where you live, just vaguely.
PS I'm not stalking you! :D

The only real drawback I've found with low carb most days, is the food is so calorie dense that you really have to watch what you eat. Like last night and my cheese attack. Before I knew it I had blown my calorie count out of the water by 200 with just a few squares too many of brie. But that is what happens when I don't really plan a meal and instead pick on things. I picked meat off the duck carcass last night (sounds so gross when you write it out like that) and then made stock. But I pretty much just ate duck meat, cheese and had some peanut butter on celery.

I tried so hard to go to bed early last night. I actually got up and went to bed around 9:30 but then my friend started texted about golf excitement and ordering team hoodies instead of t-shirts and J was texting still at 11. And the boy child was writing a story and kept coming back to my room to read it to me. I didn't get to sleep until after midnight. I have a bunch of things to do today and one of them can't even be started until after 3:30 so I figure I'll be working late tonight. But I think J wants to hang also. Probably won't get to sleep till late again...booo!!! I just want to sleep for like, a whole week.

Sometimes it is sooo hard to go to bed early even though you know it is for the best! I'm going to try to do that tonight.

I think that you won't mind hanging with J too much though.....hope you had a great time. And as others have said...what a great distraction from food ;)

I have been going to bed at a decent time, but since I have been really trying to drink a decent amount of water I have been waking up 2-3 times a night to pee! It sucks!

I wanted to go to bed early...but I gave the kiddo permission to stay out till 11 so now I have to stay awake to make sure he comes home. BAAAAHHHH!!! And no J to hang out with and keep me company tonight, he has to work. But we did go to lunch together and then he came back to work with me and we burned all the yucky pallets of wood and appliance cardboard that was cluttering the warehouse. It was fun.

Todays food:
B: breve: 340
L: bunless burger with bacon and jalapenos and a side salad with ranch: ?? estimate 500+ it was at a restaurant
D: Artichoke with mayo and shrimp with coctail sauce: 500+ didnt actually count how much shrimp I ate...
GAH! I need to weigh and measure food. I need to tighten this up. I also need to drink more water. I had like, a teaspoon of water today. Nice low carb day though!

What sort of reaction do you get when ordering bunless stuff? for me the local places seem used to it but I get all sorts of funny looks from other customers lol :D

Tru: Not a huge reaction. I think after the whole Atkins craze in the late 90's early aughts people are generally open to low carb. I get a bigger reaction when I sub a side salad with ranch instead of fries. People just don't understand why I don't eat the glorious potato. Lol!

Got up and went to the gym second thing this morning (it was not the first thing, because the first thing was unlocking doors in some of our buildings, a new task I assigned myself to relieve a child care issue with our janitor and get my butt out of bed earlier). I like the 7am crowd...there is none, had the place to myself. That will probably change once school starts again in August because the Mommy clique will be back. Anyways....I have to stop procrastinating and go to the office. and do stuff. and be productive. *Idon'twanna*

Mmmmm....doughnuts.....

Yesterday I may have been too productive. I don't want to set the bar too high, lol! Went out to dinner with J, drank too much, then went back to his place ;) Very happy with that guy ;) Anyways, I'm a bit sluggish this morning because of too much wine and not enough sleep. Got called in to work super early too, which was okay because J had to get up at 6am and go to work. I have a bunch of stuff to get done at the warehouse, the early morning call was a delivery service calling to drop off some pallets of building material for a remodel project so I have to inventory and organize all that, and then the guys are running electrical conduit on the ceiling rafters with a man lift so I have to be there to supervise those dolts. I don't need any injuries, lol! But for now I'm at home, sipping some coffee and procrastinating online. Its saturday. I'm in weekend mode and going to work just sux.

You're getting your cardio in a totally different way to me ;) :D
I like the way your new job keeps you so active too. It's all good KP. Now, if we can just lay off the wine a bit.....Do you want to join LaMa & I in the 6kg challenge? I can't remember how much you need to lose, but I think it's about the same. It won't be quick for me as that's all I want to lose, but I really must!

I have so much to lose, but a 6kg challenge will keep me on my toes. I'm a slow loser. I'm in!! Did you start a thread for it anywhere?

Got gym time in today, 30 minutes on the elliptical. And aside from a few hours here and there at work I've been doing housework. I'm going to take J some coffee and food later, since he has to work until at least 4am. And one of my girlfriends wants me to go out for a few drinks later tonight, which I might do, maybe late enough that I can give her a sober ride home from the bar. I'm trying to decide what to make to take to J. Usually hand to mouth foods like sammies or burritos are best but I don't have any bread or tortillas in my house. I might just cheat and order from a restaurant, lol!

The boy and I are having some curried chicken and broccoli and some leftover Hamachi Collar from dinner out last night (its so good), I'm turning some of the stock from the duck into some gelatin. Good for growing boys bones and makes for happy puppies. luckily I have a child who is open to strange foods so I know when I hand him a bowl of cold duck stock gelatin he will eat it and not complain. He'll like it, his Great Grandmother is Russian and makes a weird jelly meat dish that he loves. Like Aspic but they call it Kholodets. It has chunks of meat, carrots and hard boiled eggs and is very pretty but I hate it. I just want to see him grow a few inches this year, and his Great Grandma says gelatin is the key to make bones grow.

No new thread, but we have both set up a weight-loss ticket for 6kg & have added to our signatures. A lazy way of doing it, but hey, that should work!

Alright, I made a ticker! A small one but I made one, lol

Today I am going berry picking. And filming a challenge with the boy child for his youtube channel, blindfolded drawing challenge. J is out fishing with his friends. Maybe I'll get some fish for my freezer out of it ;) Went out with the girlfriends last night for a few hours, drank a few beers (bad!) and played beer pong. Then came home and ate leftovers from the night before. Twas a good night.
