Hamida's Diary

I just realised that I joined the forum 2 years ago this month and this is only my first post! Anyway, I decided to start a weight loss diary because I started a new diet today.

I weighed myself this morning and I'm 151 pounds (the heaviest I've ever been).

I want to lose 25 pounds in the next 3 months (in time for my summer holiday)

I'm doing the Lunchbox Diet - you eat a normal breakfast and dinner, and then you eat from your lunchbox throughout the rest of the day. Lunchbox consists of 60% vegetables, 30% protein and 10% dressing/extras

This is the first time that I'm reasonably confident about a diet because there's less chance of my being hungry when I can snack from my lunch box every so often.

My major downfall with previous diets was that I lose all will power when I get hungry. Plus I work from home so tend to take regular trips to the fridge and cupboards - mostly for biscuits, cake, sweets etc :-(

I'll be going to the gym 3-4 times a week (hopefully!) and if I don't make it to the gym I'm going to do an exercise DVD (I use the Charlie Brooks Before And After Workout that I got on Amazon.co.uk)

By the way, I'm not overweight (although I'm at the upper end of my BMI) - my goal is to reach the lower end of my BMI and to get fit and healthy. I normally eat alot of junk food, eat way more than my recommended calories per day, and I'm EXTREMELY unfit.

Anyway, that's me. I'll try to post here as often as I can, I need the motivation :)

9 days later and I've lost 4 pounds so I'm pretty happy! The lunchbox diet is really good - I don't feel hungry at all, although I've had a few cravings binges on things like bread (which I love). I stick to wholemeal bread though and I've completely cut out chocolate and sweets. I had a Chinese takeaway on Saturday as well because my sister had come to visit (she's a bad influence!), but I tried to only eat a small portion.

I do about an hour of cardio in the gym a couple of times a week, and I do an exercise dvd for toning.

I don't feel like I've lost any weight yet and I certainly don't look any different (I've probably only lost water weight so far), but I do feel really good eating so much fruit and veg and having for the most part cut out the junk - I've lots more energy, I'm sleeping well, and my skin has improved.

My target for the end of March is to lose another 7 pounds. After that I think my weight loss will probably slow down as I don't have a huge amount of weight to lose, and I think I'll probably gain a bit of muscle from going to the gym.

Hiya!

Hiya, I noticed you on the Valentines Day Challenge, congrats. I can understand not finishing the challenges, but maybe if we all stick together we can do it. I made the thread so I would get support and give support. Every weigh in day, I will be acknowleding everyone, including peeps who only lost a few oz. Even a few oz is good. Just thought I would pop in and tell you we will be there for you :)
