Hamhac's weight loss diary

Looks like what you're doing is working for you. I keep a food diary and count WW points as well. I find it well helps me to stay in check for the day. What walking DVD are you using? Someone else is using the Denise Austin one. Sounds interesting.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks m2m, it was a good day. I think that tomorrow will be a rest day from the work outs, although I am feeling a bit addicted to them. I am off to take a shower and then to bed I go!!

Well, how many days a week are you working out?

I know I have a hard time taking rest days - but they are needed!

I am taking a rest day today, woke up this morning and my thights and butt were so sore! Hey, now I know that this hard work is paying off. I have worked out of the last 4 days, which is alot for me, I just hope I don't get burnt out on it. I also got a call from Proform that the parts needed for my eliptical have been shipped so that should be fixed soon and I am thinking about getting an exercise ball, so with all my options I should be able to keep it interesting and not get burnt out.

I went thru some old pictures today for some motivation. Man I was such a cutie 8 years ago (when I was 19!) no wonder I ended up with a handsome husband!! Even some pictures from 2001 I was still looking good.

I got another bit of motivation last night from my husband. He found out some record label reps are coming to one of his bands shows in March!! So, if he gets a record deal (a dream of a life time for him!) I have to be looking hot!!

It's great to have motivation - something to aim for!

You're doing well with sticking to the workouts. It will really help you acheive your goal.

i'm a busybody so i'll ask- are you using any kind of food journal to track your nutrients? like - just looking at your entries, it looks like you're regularly low on fiber... in my non-expert opinion, i think it's important to meet the RDA in your diet

but you seem to be doing great so far - congrats :D

Maleficent...I am using sparkpeople to track my food, yes I am low on fiber and protein, I have lacked those 2 things my whole life, not sure what to eat to boost those, the protein is kinda hard cause I am not a big meat eater except for seafood, fish, shellfish, if it swims I'll eat it! :) any ideas would be great!

try switching out the waffles with a whole grain waffle - the kashi brand are pretty good - i personallycan't stand the cereals but the waffles are great and i'll usually put on about 1/2 cup of defrosted frozen raspberries which adds oon even more fiber

Corn flakes could be switched out for a higher fiber cereal - there's lots out there that don't taste like stuff that horses would eat :D

Crackers - switch for a higher fiber whole grain cracker - the ones i'm partial to are the Wasa, Klavi, or Ryvita crackers - most of them are 35 calories for a huge cracker and at least 2 -3 grams of fiber per cracker)

I'm not a crunchy granola type person - but just a few simple changes to whole grains made a big difference in my fiber intake.

i try to get all my fiber thru food sources but on days i'm running low - i will add some fibersure to a container of yogurt - that's a flavorless fiber additive...

Hamhac,

You were asking the name of the pilates for kids dvd I used. It is actually Yoga for Kids. I think the name of the company was Gimac. Hope this helps.

The yoga for kids did a lot of animal poses, so that helped keep my son interested. His only 2, so he did get distracted sometimes (mainly when mommy was doing a pose on the floor, which gave him the opportunity to jump on me). The suggested age range was 3-6. But I think that anything that is kid oriented, tends to be fun and gets them moving. Check with your local library to see if they have any VHS or DVD. Saves you money, and if they don't like you can take it back and try a different one.

Good Luck!:D

Have you ever tried the fiber choice chewable tablets? The Weight Management ones aren't too good, but they have some that are sugar free or sugar free plus calcium. If you eat a serving of those per day that will give you 4G fiber.
I'm not sure if you eat sandwiches at all or bagels, but Thomas makes a really good Wheat Bagel that gives 8G fiber -- they even have square ones for sandwiches.

Another option is the Yoplait Nouriche Super Smoothies. They have 250 cals and have 10G Protein and 5G fiber in them. This would give you some of both.

Congrats on your weight loss to date!

Hello, I am just joining here so I thought I'd tell you all alittle about me. I am 28, married, and I have 2 boys ages 7 and 2. I love cooking and entertaining, and I love watching football! I have decided that I am in a real unhealthy state right now, after having my annual dr. appt. last week and my dr. said that she would like to see me drop a few pounds..... I am 5'5' and I weight 188lbs. I can not believe that I have let myself get this out of hand. I really have never had an issue with being over wieght until I got prego with my first son and gained 45 lbs and only lost about 15 lbs of that. Then about 3 years ago I lost another 15 lbs. then I got prego with my 2nd son, gained 26 lbs and still haven't really lost any of that weight. I have always made the excuse to myself that I am only over weight because of the pregancy....I now see that I was just lieing to myself. So this is the year for me! I am no longer going to be trapped in this body, no longer going to pretend that it is all because of the prego's, that is no excuse!!! I am going to need all the support I can get, I will tell you all now that I WILL need a kick in the ass every now and again! My goal for now is to lose 30 lbs, but to eventually lose 50, but right now I am working on the 1st 30. Wish me luck

Wanted to show myself how much I have already learned about myself since my first post. I am so much happier and I feel some much better about myself already. This is truly going to be a life changing experience for me and my family as well. It's not about just losing the weight, it is so much deeper than that. I can do this!

It nice to reflect back too see where we started, where we are, and where we want to go! Keep up the good work and have a great weekend!:D
