so studies have shown that sitting in front of the television, watching a movie or the latest reality show causes mindless eating. (this challenge might just kill me.. :D

This weeks challenge:

the television challenge.
2 nights this week - turn off the television and do something else- report in what you did. Spend time with your family, institute family game night, play scrabble, play charades, have sex (either by yourself of with a partner - if you're of age), do something other than watching television.

2 points awarded to the team that had the biggest percentage of members doing this.

I was reading an article in Shape magazine that said the number 1 cause of evening snacking and binging was watching television. They suggested doing something to engage the mind.. Hence... this challenge...

and for the nights you pick - challenge yourself - pick a night that one of those reality tv shows that have people so addicted is on :D

FINALLY! I get credit for being a single woman forced to... :p :p :p I thought this was especially funny. Thanks for the chuckle Mal.

I should be able to do this no problem...but my new tennis addiction is going to make it tough. I'm not a big TV watcher anyway, but I just added the sports package which mainly for the tennis channel and I am HOOKED! It's bad y'all. But I'm gonna work really hard at staying away from it just for my team! LOVE Y'ALL VAMPIRES! :D

Ok, Mal I'll sacrifice a favorite show, but NOT Grey's Anatomy! :p :p :p But wait...is there anything else on TV?? LOL

Ohhhh, this is SWEET :D

I got rid of TV almost 2 years ago! We don't even have basic - we have what I call "Blue Screen"

When you turn on our TV all you get is a blue screen ;)

We netflix and watch something maybe once a week!

Are people allowed to substitute the computer for the TV? I think a lot of people do that too... I know I am guilty of it. It certainly isn't any more quality time than television... We should not allow computer to be the other thing that people do.

I watch two tv shows a week: Project Runway and Smallville. Who's going to win Mal? Michael Night?

i think it's gonna come down to michael and jeffrey... depending ont he collections.. if he sticks with sportswear.. michael's got the win... if he doesn't.. it's gonna be afun final show

wait, so if I have sex, instead of watching tv, i have to report it?? lol oooook, you asked for it ;)

oh no, lol..I think I'll pick Sunday and Monday. Sunday I can study for my test on Monday and than on Monday I'll just take a long big walk and read. Sorry, no sex with myself..not this time of the month..

Ya I am more of a computer person myself...It takes alot for me not to use it daily or every chance I get...

i'm not sure that using the computer leads to mindless munching like television does... hmmm - i think it counts as an activity. unless someone has an arguement against it.

Lol funnny MAL,
My Tv is 90 % cartoons for the kiddies anyway! I f you would
have said computer for 2 nights geeesh I would have failed bigtime.
This ought to be a breeze between hubby and kids I have NO tv time lol!
Good luck eevy1(FREDDY'S) Tammy

Hehe, this will be a good one for me... there are only two nights that I *do* watch TV--- Tuesdays (for House) and Fridays (for whatever is on sci-fi, doesn't much matter). Fridays, I could give up... but House? Nevarrrr! :)

a challenge I don't even have to work for? I already don't watch tv! occassional movies, but no tv for me, we dont have any channels at my house, none. My son watches a movie everyday at least once, but I read, surf the internet, clean or work on my artwork. I'm so going to kick this challenges arse!

you are really challangeing us

i would have to pick tuesdays and thrusdays. my daughter has tennies meets those twto nights and we have a 45 minute drive from there to home. so by time i get home cook somthing quick for dinner and everthing else to get ready for the next day i am tired and ready for bed. but its a good thing i have somthing else to do cause this one is a hard one.
