Halfway there! Pics!

I haven't been on much to update, but I wanted to check in with my very slight success. LoL. For a little while there, I started becoming distressed again and I failed with any sort of diet and exericise routine (probably the main cause as to why I stopped checking in). But, just recently, I've become very determined again, and I've been dieting successfully and have developed my own rigorous "dancing" exercise that I feel is going to bring me to my goal! It involves me, System of a Down, and a wide open space in my living room! Hehehehe. :D

So, I've taken pics to boost my confidence, because I didn't believe that I'd made any sort of difference. But now that I can see the pics, I feel even more determined, because I can see a little bit of a difference. ^_^

Thank you! I know that it's not much to talk about, being that that difference is over a timespan of almost 2 months... Really, I should have been much closer to my goal by now, if only I had stuck with it earlier on. But now that I'm back on track, I'm going to take pics every two weeks until I reach my goal body. ^_^ My goal is to be in a bikini by my one-year anniversary cruise trip, July 4th. That's a long time away, so hopefully I will be!

Lookin' good! I can see the stomach shrinking in and your body tightening up. It is totally somethin' to be proud of, dont give yourself too much critcism for not getting as much done as you "think" you should have. I see people on here who have lost as much as I did so far but faster, but its important that everybody goes at their own pace and adapts to something they can maintain! You have plenty of time till July so I wish you much luck :)

Thank you so much!! I am very happy to say that I just became a member of a women's only gym, which I had NO idea was literally right up the road from my house! So the fact that I don't yet own my own vehicle is not going to stop me from getting the workout that I need!!! Today was my first day there, and it was GREAT!! I stayed for about two hours, and I did a big variety of exercises, from cardio to strength building:

~30 minutes on the treadmill, going 6.6 mph for about 25 of those minutes, and burning 300 calories (or so the machine estimated, based on my weight and speed)
~lots of different ab exercises (there were lots of benches and machines for that)
~GREAT leg exercises to help bring in my inner and outer thighs
~15 minutes on a REALLY HARD stairmaster workout (I put it on a pre-set workout option, and it was harder than I thought, but I managed to do the whole 15 minutes even though my butt was on fire! LoL!)
~arm exercises with free weights
~and more!

Overall, I burned approximately 500+ calories. ^_^ Once I really get into the gear of things, it will be easy to burn much more than that!

Oh! And here's a pleasant surprise! I checked my weight at the end of my workout (I know that I sweated a lot, but it was still lower than I expected!!), and I only weighed in at 146 lbs!!!!!!! So, my dieting and dancing routine was working! (It's just not as fun as the gym, LoL.) The last that I knew, my weight was about 154. So..... WOOOOO!!!!!!

Thanks so much for the support, guys and gals!!

you and I are moving at the same pace! you've done well. big difference : ). system of a down gets my legs working too lol. so how are you going to celebrate when you've reached your goal? im going to get new jeans and a new hair cut!

Thank you again, everyone! I will be updating pics in about two weeks. My dieting has suffered a bit because of the holiday season (the gym was closed for a couple days, I wasn't scheduled, and I was surrounded by family cheer, which inevitably consists of food), but that doesn't bother me. I am still making progress (down to about 144-145), which isn't a lot from my last update. However, it IS still progress, and that's all that matters. Now that I'm back in the swing of things (haven't missed a night at the gym for about six days now), and I am NOT resting until I see more results, I should start shedding the extra weight a little more quickly.

Anyhow, to answer the above questions, I have already gotten my hair cut again as a sort of celebration/motivation! :D It's back to a short style (it used to be before), and I think that short hairstyles are pulled off better on a smaller face (unless you're beautiful no matter your size, and I am not so fortunate). See for yourself! My hope, then, is to "grow into" my hairstyle! Haha!

Anyhow, I do have "skinny jeans" that I've never worn before (they weren't originally mine), and I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to fit into them. Right now I'm anywhere from a 9 to a 14 size in jeans (just depends on the jeans), and these are much smaller... So, we shall see! Fitting into those would certainly call for celebration, but I don't think that my naturally wide hips could ever fit into those, no matter how much weight I lost! LoL!

Thank you!!!!! You guys are great!! ^__^

Well, I decided to go ahead and update my picture diary, even though I haven't made much progress. However, I think that these pics give a better idea of where I am now compared to September's, simply because these December pics are taken in almost the identical poses and distances (and clothes) from my webcam. The November pics were too close, and I was wearing jeans (which, I discovered, made me look thinner, since they hid my "hip bumps," LoL!). So, here you go! The scale just now says 144, so these pics are approximately 7-9 lbs smaller from the September pics.

And, is it just me, or do my hips look wider now than they were before?? o_O

Maybe it's just from getting more definition above them.... LoL. Or, I think that I'm still closer to the camera than I was in September. It's hard to take a pic while trying to stand straight when I have to bend over to click the mouse. Hehehe

You're looking great. And your hips aren't getting any wider, just looks like it since you've lose a good amount of weight in your stomach :p

Haha, thanks! I guess I'm not just "curvy" when I'm chunky! Well, I guess that's okay; can't really do much about it. We can't all look like the beauty queens in the magazines. *sigh* :coolgleamA:

I Love little changes here and there! it makes it way more exciting! a person may say who cares about 5- 10 lbs and can't really tell you've lost weight. but I know when you look in the mirror and look at things like your back and hips and you just know it looks different it feels good and makes you want to keep going. Good job :)

No, your waist is smaller ;)

That's the first thing I noticed in the pics -- the "wink" (that's what I call that bit of fat from the side that has a fold in it at the waist) is much less "winked" ;)

Does that make any sense? :D

Haha! Yeah, I_love_muscle, that does make sense! And thank you for noticing; I thought that I could see a difference there, as well.

And MotherOf2, thanks so much! It really does make me want to keep going when I see that I've actually made progress. ^_^

There's a big difference, krissy. You don't notice it because it's gradual, but you're looking much, much better now. And you say you're only half way there? I can't wait to see what your "after" pics are going to look like! Bikini city, here we come :)
