Half way accomplished, My weight loss diary. Need opinions.

Hello, I am Ryan and currently been working on losing weight. During June of 2007 I began my journey to becoming a healthier person, I cut down on what I ate and made it healthier. I began at 286 pounds, 17 years old. I got down to 227 about 2 months ago. Although in the mix I've aquired a new girlfriend and kind of strayed away from the healthy lifestyle I created. I now weigh 239 and ready to strive to my maiximum goal of 200 which i planned last June. I would run about a mile everyday in the evening and do push-ups and crunches nightly. Also was doing some lifting and taking muscle milk...a protein powder with a fat burner. I am starting today with what i normally used to do although I'm thinking about making a solid plan and wondering if someone may have a good structure. I wanted to start running early AM after I get up and maybe afternoon/evening, but if I do this daily would it be to much? Also I have a YMCA membership and was thinking about lifting as in bench squat butterfly's leg curls monday wednesday friday. Also doing crunches Monday Wednesday Friday Sunday and lunges. And pushup's tuesday thursday saturday along with my running. And for eating I am trying to have 5-6 smaller healthy meals per day and drink a lot of water. Open to taking any ideas to help me acheive my goal and hope this website will also be good motivation resource to accomplishing my goal.
 
Well day one went pretty consistent, woke up had a megen men sport multi vitamin and a bananna. Went to school untill my work release at 11 35, came home drank a few bottles of water had 1 cup of vegtable stir fry. Then I had my muscle milk protein with fat burner and a orange. I began stretching and warming up with 15,15,10 pushup reps, 30, 30 crunches, 30, 30 jumping jacks, 30, 35 lunges and some other stretches. Then I went on a .7 of a mile run, cutting it down a bit since I am just starting up and getting into the gist of things. Then i went to work for 5 and a half hours which involves constant standing and walking around so that is good to be constantly moving, although im a cook its hard cause of all the food you make and how good it smells :). I came home had an apple, bottled water and a weight watchers yogurt. Now time to erase and do it all over again tomarrow. Would it not be good to run twice a day.....once around 630 AM and again at 1 PM?
 
wow, congradulations! if you lost 60 pounds before, you can sure do it again. and i think its normal to get distracted when you have a lady friend looming around, but even so, try hard to make your routine work, you've done extremely well so far, dont stop now!! best of luck!


and for your running, i'd say work it up to an hour of cardio a day, and if your wweight lifting try not to forget to get your muscles a day to rest, only work them every second day, so

Sun - Upper Body
Mon - Lower Body
Tues - Upper
Wed - Lower
Thurs - Upper
Fri - Lower
Sat - REST
 
Thankyou Ktalu, I would like to maybe go monday wednesday friday to weight train.....so could i do upper and lower same day to eliminate the trips to the gym daily, and for an hour of cardio could you give me a few tips to maybe make it an hour cause i shure as hell know i can't run an hour. I know probably playing basketball would be a good idea, but and could be done mon. wed. fri. while at the gym. Would it be ok to run twice a day....i mean it wouldn't like hurt me would it and if im only running 1/2 mile to 3/4 mile at a time.

Yesterday went fairly well, I woke up and had a bananna on my way to class and also a bottle of water and my mega mens sport multivitamin dietary supplement pill. After i got out of school i came home to have 1/2 cup of vegtable stir fry still left over, an apple. at about 2:30 I had another small meal of 1/2 cup veg stir fry, 2 stalks of celery 1/2 tbs of penutbutter and a small dab of honey. At about 5 o clock I had a few mutligrain and a few whole wheat crackers with 3 pieces of peperoni, 2 small slices of extra sharp cheese. For dinner that night I had a salad and a ok size portion of noodles,sauce and venison. I skipped my cardio training today since i just started running the day before i was still sore and remembered to not strive myself and run because i have to remember i just restarted again. I hope i can keep everything on the ball, I woke up this morning at about 7 AM and weighed myself to find I now weigh 236.5, which isn't to bad but since i started just probably some water weight but its still decreasing the numbers :) any tips for me let me know guys greatly appreciated! Need ideas on some more healthier foods to buy to maximize my healthy food choices.
 
Spend time reading the stickied threads in nutrition, on topic and exercise.. it will give you a lot of info on what you're looking for..
 
Oh yeah for shure, im going through every topic on this site. What a simple community to strive one to accomplish great goals. I wasn't this excited during my first half of weight loss ever. Now I'm going all out. Just got done working out need more cardio around the house exercises that will be good, thinking about walking the same amount of distance i run and gradually work into jogging that full distance to double my distance in running in a good way. later!
 
Yesterday went very well, I did all my exercising which amounted to a little over 30 mins of straight cardio pretty much going to add in 30 mins of walking untill i can mke my reps/length of my normal workout stretch out to an hour. I had a yogurt for lunch with a salad with all fresh greens, for dinner i had granola,raisans,dates,nuts cereal with small amount of milk. I weighed myself this morning because its addicting to do for me when im on a weight loss, and i weigh 2 more pounds less :). pretty much another healthy day today and when i work im constantly moving and on my feet as im a cook and you need to move around the kitchen alot throughout the day so this is also a good workout even though im working i realised the work i do when im at work is also like a little workout! But a short cardio run/walk today since im on rest with crunches pushups and all that fun stuff. Be back tomarrow!
 
Worked all damn weekend, and had a sub on saturday and piece of pizza ( took a day off of a all out healthy day but it still wasn't bad. Today I had nut bar in the AM and a grilled chicken wrap for lunch. For dinner had this vegatable casserole made with all fresh vegtables was amazing flavor and color. BAd snow storm didn't exercise more than work this weekend but still constant moving their so wasn't just sitting around back at it tomarrow and starting my gym membership also :)! Time to start off a new week with another full 5 days of a healthy lifestyle with maybe a reward of going out to dinner with the women next weekend~!
