So I Am About To Start My Journey To Become Half Of Me. Last Year My Sister, Niece And Brother In Law Passed Away. This really Took A Toll On My Body. I Became An Emotional Eater. Any Time I Felt Sad I Recurred To Food for Comfort. That Needs To Stop. I Dont Feel Comfortable With Myself. I Feel Ugly And Am Repulsed By My Naked Image In The Mirror. Over The Course Of A Year I Managed To Gain Nearly 40Lbs This Is Competely Unacceptable. Im Only 19 And I Feel Like I Have The Body Of A 40 Year Old WitH Multiple Children (Some Of Them Look Wayyy Better Than I Do). I Have Decided To Change All This. I Want To Go From 220 To 180.And Hopefully Work My Way Down To My Ideal Weight Which Is 150. Any Sugestions Will Be Greatly Appreciated. Please Follow ME As I Take On This New Journey. Thank You!

Hey! I'm not too much under in weight than you are and in the past my highest was 216... so I've been there! I will definitely try and offer support/advice/whatever when I can. I have 2 small children (2.5 years old and 8 months old) so I don't always have a lot of time, but I really try and post every day or every other day.

What are your plans for your eating and exercise??

This is totally off topic, but I notice a lot of younger people typing with capitals at the beginning of all the words.... does that not get annoying to type like that??? I feel so old (I'm 29! Yikes!). I also find it distracting to read! Is that weird? lol

I'm so sorry for your losses, I can't imagine what you have been through :hugs:

You've made the first step in making positive change. A healthy diet and exercise and you will reach your goal :)

For the off topic...
Its short text that annoys me. Things like... " how r u" or "wut u doin 2day"

Welcome to the forum and to your diary.

I am very sorry for your loss. It was horrendous for you to lose as many special people all at much the same time - and many of us will understand exactly how emotional eating would get the better of you.

You are being wise to address this now before the task gets harder...

I am sure that you already know that a combination of food control and becoming more active will get you to where you want to be. For becoming more active - my best advice is to get a pedometer - because it really does help to encourage us to do more steps which is an excellent measure of how active we are... Many authorities recommend that we would be healthier if we did 10,000 steps a day - so that would be a great thing to work your way up to...

The bottom line with food control is that weight loss all boils down to building a calorie deficit with calories in vs calories out... To be healthy - we are wise to make our calories consist of lots of healthy food to ensure that we get all the nourishment that our bodies need... To be fair - it doesnt have to be healthy calories - but a healthy way to eat is the same for everyone and if we end up doing quite a lot of exercise it can be easier with a well-fuelled body...

You do not need to actually count your calories but some people find it an easier way of knowing that they have controlled their food well enough to deserve some weight loss...
