The good, the bad, & the UGLY

So I just went on a hunt for a before picture and after searching a lot I realized that I don't have one that shows my whole body, I always crop them or get rid of the bad ones! So I'm going to break down & post the ones of me in a sports bra {& one of my dog, Harper, who was also posing for his picture 'before' lol} One of me showing my other cow, Madea, & one of me jumping Zeus [a behind shot in a way] I like to think my clothes cover a lot of my chub but the sports bra shots {with boobs smooshed because I was just about to work out} are scary!

As far as eating so far today:
1 cup Quaker oats cereal 210 calories
Half of a banana {I didn't realize the other half was bad when I took it to school}
Grilled cheese {we were out of PB & its cold today so I wanted something to warm me up}
60 calorie Light & Fit Yogurt
100 calories of snacks {tried some mini quaker rice cakes Mike bought}

You have such a nice shape/face/hair lol!

The pics will be super helpful so you can see where the change is happening.

Congrats about the new shoes! And sucky about the no exercising! It shouldn't set you back too much though. Still plenty of time to get to your goal :)

Harper is adorable :)

Patience

Thanks Tally, I've been noticing my face chub lately & I'm ready for that to thin out some more... and obvioiusly I want my stomach to go away but I do feel very fortunate to have a proportionate body. My large boobs balance out my stomach so I don't look as large. Believe it or not I fit snuggly into a size 8 pant, a size 10 comfortably.

I'm ready to get into my new shoes & back into the gym tomorrow morning! {& I'm SO ready to see results, MUST not get impatient!}

& thanks, Harper is my baby, he's such a ham for the camera (although his eyes look funny in that picture)

Wonderful progress. Keeping my fingers crossed that you can get back to the gym soon. New shoes make all the difference in the world - hope you will be feeling light on your feet with them.

I'm a sucker for dogs - and Harper is a definite cutie!

Your boyfriend sounds so supportive and encouraging.

Hey Hey You You!
Nice pix!! well done for posting!
You already look good - from here it could only get better!!!
Go you!!!!
Bring on the gym girl - and you should see results sooon!

:grouphug:

Same ole' Same ole'

Thanks for all the encouraging words ladies, it means a lot to me! :grouphug:

Good news: I got back to the gym today! [& the shoes were heavenly!]

Bad news: I ate poorly last night to end the day & gave in to my frozen yogurt cravings.

Luckily the scale didn't show weight gain today, only maintenance, Unfortunately it didn't show loss either. :toetap05:

Today I've eaten:{& drank water}
2 Bananas
1 cup quaker oats cereal (210 calories)
1 50 calorie light & fit yogurt
Quaker rice cake snacks (110 calories)
Grilled cheese sandwich [still out of PB for PB&Js]
1 string cheese (70 calories)
Medium bowl of pasta in alfredo (BAD, I know... but we desperately need to go to the grocery store!)

I've been in a total snacking mood!

& on another good note.. I have 2 labs on Thursdays & BOTH got cancelled! :biggrinjester: An afternoon to myself! Now I just need to spend it wisely by studying for the
5 tests I have in 3 days next week! :banghead:

& I'm going to make myself do a p90X workout because my eating hasn't been so great!

5 tests in 3 days!!! UGH that sucks! I hope youve been keeping up with the material then. I feel like frozen yogurt could possibly be an okay splurge but I guess it depends on what was in it but you started working out and watching what you eat so you should still see some nice returns :)

Good luck during finals!

Bikini Bound

As far as the tests/material goes I'm decently familiar with it but a lot of studying is in the near future. Strangly I had this same scenerio with the first group of tests [all the teachers have the same test schedules] and I did better than usual. I usually do poorer on the first tests than I did. So I guess I'll just buckle down & get'r'done again :gnorsi: Now if only they weren't all so memorization heavy! I have animal reproduction, animal products, and math Wednesday. Animal Nutrition on Thursday & domestic animal behavior on Friday!

LUCKILY Spring Break is the week after & I have a fun week planned. Mike & I are going to Atlanta to stay in a 5 star hotel for a night & get deluxe professional massages {I've never gotten a professional one so I'm pumped!} Then we are going back to Charlotte, where I grew up, & going to the beach with my parents for a few days. Unfortunately the beach means a bathing suit which I don't currently have [Mike decided to dry my nice underwire one & it came out in 3 pieces at the end of last fall] I was hoping to lose the weight before having to purchase a new suit top but I don't know that that is going to happen with this surprise trip popping up! Also, Victoria Secret doesn't carry my size anymore [I've outgrown their sizes!] so I'm not really sure where I'm going to find a top.

& even though Vicky S's doesn't carry my size it doesn't mean I resisted the urge to look at bathing suits online. I'm going to post a few I can't wait to fit into!

I had this top in black until it got dried: {I swear it looked good on me with the right bottoms to disguise the 'wave' in my stomach}

I want this so bad!

Or this in 2DG-tres chic

hey you,
Your spring break plan sounds awesome - you gonna have so much fun!!!!!
i checked out your bikini dreams!! i love the first one!!!
Its exciting to look at things you will look good in soon! It keeps you motivated :hurray:
keep up the good job!
:grouphug:

I love the retro push up one!! SOO cute! If our beaches are ever warm I might actually consider buying a whole bathing suit. I only have a top because I like staying warm but I want my chest to tan.. LOL

I don't think I've ever taken any animal classes lol I usually have business or psychology classes. That must be completely different! I wish you well next week! Its super nice that you have something huge to look forward to for spring break! I've only got cheesecake and some cleaning planned lol. But I'm happy to have more time to do nothing ;)

Tgif

Thanks again ladies! I always love hearing your comments! It definitely keeps me on track & coming back to write down what I eat! & I must admit, I couldn't wait to hear which bikini both of you liked better!

I have yet to make it to the gym but I will get there!

Today I've eaten:
Banana
1 cup quaker oats cereal
6" subway club (minus part of the bread, there is always too much for my liking!)
1 50 calorie string cheese
110 calories of Quaker rice cake snacks {carmel, yum!}

& now I'll be heading to the gym before dinner. Hopefully I can find something low calorie! [We did finally go grocery shopping :hurray: ]

I may be a runner after all!

So, I ended the day of eating with a small bowl of salad with Raspberry vinaigrette dressing & a 50 calorie light & fit yogurt :)

& I ended up eating after I convinced Mike to go to the gym. I had an amazing run workout! I am in no way a runner but Mike decided he wanted to run & feeling perky in my new shoes I decided to join him :) He ran ahead of me for 5 laps & then decided to run with me. I ran a whole mile without stopping! {Which is a HUGE deal to me, I always struggled with the mile run in High School, I was always super slow and dreaded it every year in gym} So the fact that I ran a mile straight with no stopping was incredibly encouraging... then I ended up running atleast another half mile (walking a lap between a running lap) I even did two laps SPRINTING [10 laps = 1 mile]! I was outrunning Mike, I really felt great in my new shoes & stretching out my stride. Major confidence booster!
:party:

Hey girl!! you are doing amazingly well!!! :hurray:
i know how surprising it to actually do well in sports. i never in a million years would have thought that i d be going to the gym every day!!
Well done on running a mile non stop!! You rock girl!!

Your food sounds good too.

Keep up the good job!

Have a nice weekend!! :grouphug:

Excellent - you knew you had it in you! Well done on the run - and just the boost you needed.

MMMmmm string cheese - so yummy. It's one of the snacks I keep on hand at work.

My bikini pick would be .... door number 3 - oh to have the body for that. I think I could rock the top (eventually) - but I would need a bit more coverage on the bottom - baby got back!

Soreness!

Hey Justina & Jennifer, thanks for the complements! I absolutley can't believe I'm more 'sporty' now. I have always enjoyed working out but I also find excuses & at this point I'm running out of them & it feels GREAT! & Jennifer I LOVE string cheese, so yummy! & your baby got back comment made me giggle! :D As far as the suits go I like the style of the top of number three too because I'm worried I'll get funky tan lines from number 2 being kind of high in the middle.

Holy SORENESS!

Haha I can not explain to you how sore I am in my rear, my calves, my gluts, and even my core! Running has proved its effectiveness as a workout on my body! Lol So that being said I ended up going to the gym & doing a pretty intense upper body. Had to be sore all over, right?

However, before I went to the gym Mike & I planned on going on a nice hike with the dogs but I learned that Mike can't be trusted to plug an address into the GPS. We went for an hour drive to the middle of nowhere! Luckily it was a gorgeous day & we still hiked a little around the lake near our house when we got back but it was kind of funny when it said we were 'there' & all we found was flat cow pastures!

Today I've eaten ok, once again snacks seem to bring me down:
1 Banana
Breakfast: Omlet with 2 eggs
1/2 cup of just chex out of chex mix
Lunch: Turkey burger with a bun & slice of cheddar cheese; Small salad; Small dill pickle (0 calories!)
String cheese
Dinner: Chicken breast with 2 spoonfuls of steamed veggies
50 calorie light & fit yogurt

Weekends & this free time leads me to downfall! It's such a struggle {& battle}.

& Mike really wanted to go get ice cream but I talked him out of it because I know my will power isn't that high yet.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

lol at least you were able to still hike around the lake! That must be really nice! My first month my fiance wanted to get pizza so of course I ordered some too! We each get our own so I ate the whole pizza by myself! Now I just tell him not to bother ordering me any. I am looking forward to the day when I can at least order half a pizza and be okay with it. I don't think they let you order pizza's in fourths lol

Good job about being sore! I enjoy that feeling most of all. Your food doesn't seem bad at all. If there's snacks in there its pretty minimal. I think runners have a nice build providing they also keep a good diet. I think I run in an odd way that always make me have to stop after a little while. I can do the elliptical for much longer though.

Have a nice weekend :)

Hey
Wow you are doing really great!!!
Your GPS stroy is really funny - It made me giggle - its actually quite a good idea for a commercial advert - not sure for what LOL - still...i love it!!!
Hope you guys had fun though!!!
Well done on resisiting ice cream & convinicing your fiance too!!!
Your food sounds yummy!
Hugs & Happy Sunday! :grouphug:

I'm back!

Hey Ladies! It's been 2 long weeks since we last caught up BUT I'm back & boy do I have updates for you!

In the first week I was missing from here I was beyond stressed. With 5 tests, 3 quizzes, & a lab report I had NO breaks or time for anything but studying. I was up late and awake by 5am every morning to get back to studying so the gym did not fit in. I know its bad and it would have been good for me to de-stress by going to the gym but I had 4 tests in 24 hours so I couldn't find that time to spare. So by the time I finished my last test at 12:30 on Friday I was exhausted, drained, & beyond ready for spring break!
After this week of stress eating and not going to the gym I was expecting to have gained weight but I weighed myself at home & found that I was 154.8!
I was so excited to be under 155!

Then last week was spring break & boy was it full of temptations: Sweets & snacks galore!
My parents came down the first Saturday because I needed a new radiator in my car.
Then on Sunday morning Mike & I left for a getaway in Atlanta. The massage was FANTASTIC, I wouldn't mind taking an hour every day :p
We headed back to the house on Monday & stopped at a large outlet mall on the way back. Mike needed quite a few new things of clothing & I ended up getting two great dresses. {I feel very confident in one and thought I did in the other but since coming home I've put it on a few times & can't bring myself to wear it out because I feel like I still need to define my shape a bit more -lumpy hips syndrome-}
On Tuesday we went to the range & shot lots of guns, it was so much fun! I can't wait till I'm 21 & can get one of my own! I've definitely taken a liking to the 9mm sig :willy_nilly:
Wednesday through Friday we met my parents at Kure beach in NC. {Near Wilmington} We had an awesome time and I even got some sun! I was self conscious on the beach but Mike was a great support system, as usual. However, it also helped that there weren't many people on the beach & those who were weren't near my age.
We then spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and enjoying being home. You know, getting back into the swing of things.

School started back yesterday and so did going to the gym bright & early. I'm back on track with eating & went to they gym twice yesterday. It felt great but I could definitely tell I'd been out of gym type exercise for 2 weeks. Unfortunately vacation was not kind to my waist & I'm back to 155.6 on my scale at home. BUT I had someone tell me how to get an idea of how much my boobs weigh & with some help the scale read 144.2 without my boobs! Can you say insane? 11 POUNDS?!?!? I don't know if that's good or bad? I just know I want them to SHRINK, a.s.a.p.!

I also had a slight breakdown yesterday after getting back from the gym for the second time.
What is it about admitting you're overweight and attempting to lose it makes your self esteem plummet?
I swear I'm so much worse off now that I take the time to really stare at my body & admit just how unhappy I am with it. Ugh. :banghead:

& I've found new motivation at the gym, I think of everyone I want to shove my weightloss in their face. Everyone who has doubted me or just screwed me over. I want to give them something to really talk about!

But on a good note my animal nutrition lecture & lab got cancelled today so I get a day off school! Woohoo! Now I just have to keep eating right & go to the gym.

Oh, & I'm attaching pics of me & Mike that a friend took on Tuesday in the new dress I love. Some of them turned out super cute... Ibut I'm posting one unflattering one for proof of the boobage!

Hi there! Just read through your diary and wanted to say great job so far! Running a mile for the first time is an incredible feeling, isn't it?? Especially with good shoes. Your boyfriend sounds absolutely adorable!!! And kudos to you for juggling school and working out, I know how tough that is but you're doing awesome.

I'll be sure to stop by again soon!!

Rant

Ok, so bear with me, just going to get some stuff out.

:rant:

So I love Mike a lot but he naturally has a higher metabolism so he stays fitter on a higher calorie diet. He has a little bit of chub in his stomach but its only obvious when he takes his shirt off... so he's been pretty good about going to the gym with me but he doesn't diet. He is a total late night snacker and I can't help but get extremely frustrated when he asks to stop by taco bell for a snack or gets soda like it's no big deal. So I mentioned that this was difficult for me when he asked to swing by at lunch {because my will power has been especially low lately} and he ended up telling me not to go by.. but then I was craving a good grilled chicken salad & I'm in love with Zaxby's with their light vinaigrette dressing so I texted him while he was in class suggesting we stop by Zaxby's to grab a salad {& it's a large salad so we have split it before} He said 'good plan' but then as we pulled up to the window he added 5 chicken fingers with honey mustard. & I'm already in a pretty grumpy mood today but I was like seriously? I just asked you not to tempt me AT LUNCHTIME... and heck we all know I'd rather order chicken fingers as well but I would gain weight that way... so I didn't say anything but I'm just frustrated because even though I know it isn't intentional I feel like it's being thrown in my face. GRRRR! He has never said he wants me to lose weight but at the same time I'd like to for him (& me of course). His ex's were all super tiny & it sucks but I can't help but compare my body. I'm just so grumpy and irritable. I went to the gym and had a good workout but I felt my weight jiggling as I walked in & walked out. Do you know how bad it feels when I'm at my college gym with a bunch of twigs around me?
I MUST stay motivated but I get so darn impatient!

*Screams into pillow*
